1. My vote creeps down each week. What an incredibly boring episode. It was half Neville flashback, one quarter nanite garbage, and only one quarter centered around Miles/Monroe/Rachel/Charlie, the only interesting story line left.

  2. Oh shit at Julia's husband figuring out the truth. This isn't going to end well at all, and I'm scared about what happens next.

I bet Gene is going to be okay. And whoa at Miles infecting the Patriot guy with typhus on purpose.

    Great episode!

  3. Awful mostly because they ruined the most interesting part, the Patriots creating virus, in the promos

  4. It keeps getting better, don't listen to the haters!

  5. Nice shout out to the Exile of Napoleon with Beethoven's Symphony Number 7 Allegretto!

Glad we FINALLY had another Neville flashback. They def made me misjudge Julia, which ony makes me think she's going to die soon. I know Tom and probably Jason will get out of it.

I hope that is not the last we see of Cynthia and that the nanites keep building towards her image. I think Priscilla and Aaron will find Peter and/or Naite "miracles" in the next episode! Still not sold on them getting back together romantically, which is why I think Priscilla too might be parting ways one way or another, but we'll see.

Miles face when Monroe has a chat with his son seems priceless. Kind of interesting backstory with Mexico and the Bubonic Plague.

Hope Gene doesn't die, but I think he might - came with very LOST ideas - "Still have work to do" and the concept of Karma along with Revolution season one themes of going "home" = happy endings (Maggie's death, Charlie's "Stairway to heaven" experience in "Kashmir")...

  6. I like the episode, but a few things still bother me, for example, Connor and Monroe dynamic. Otherwise this episode is improvement of Mis Dos Padres (like that one was improvement of the bad 'Three Amigos') and make good choices to keep the storylines moving foward.

The virus storyline was interesting, but I think the final scene was really compelling, can't wait to see how Miles and Monroe will salve Connor.

The Neville and Julia storyline was the best, I like the flashbacks, I like the way the twist works with the husband of Julia's threat the couple.

  7. Surprisingly, Tom's story was my favorite on this episode, after all the complaining about it from last week. I also liked the breakout storyline but I think knowing that it was the Patriots from the promo ruined it a bit for me. I enjoyed the episode, but I do think the show is slowly getting away from the awesomeness that was the first half of the season. Maybe it was just an impression. And as I've said, I did enjoy it.

  8. I think Conner and Charlie is way more plausible than the fans
over-hyped Charlie and Monroe (because really I don't think Charlie
want's a step son who's 5 yrs older than she is), but I still suspect
that Conner will screw Charlie over at some point and Jason will still
prove to be a hero (his heart has always been in the right place).
There's also Adam too don't forget, who could pop in any time.

The age thing doesn't really bother me. Maybe it's because the actors look so much younger/older than the roles they are playing and b/c on any other show, a 20-something being drawn to a powerful (granted, probably less sociopathic) man wouldn't really cause a ruckus. However, my fan-girl glasses aside, I don't want Jason with Charlie, and I say that for Jason's sake. His character really needs to develop. In Season 1 when he was more just a love-interest, he was so bland. It was like he was some 2 dimensional cutout that was dragged out of the closet to for specific reasons instead of true interest in him and his experiences/reactions. As for Conner, I don't think he's been pegged as a permanent cast member. This season might see him either coming into his own and moving away or biting the dust. As much as it would hurt Monroe, I think the latter might make for more interesting tv. Gosh that seems awful to say, especially as we all know how much loss the Sebastian Monroe has endured already. Plus, I just don't like the guy. Not the actor...that's crazy...but the character. Though I think that's just how Vairo plays him. I think had they gotten someone better, I might have been opened to both a long-running recurrence and a romance with my this-season-favorite-gal.

  9. "His character really needs to develop. In Season 1 when he was more just a love-interest, he was so bland."

I agree that he WAS, but I think Prado and the writing of his character has been much better and much more interesting. The reason IMo for seperating them (Charlie and Jason) IMO is to tease us with other potential love interests and to let both of them grow. (Prado really got to prove a kind of manliness by being reprogrammed into a super soldier, which I have to wonder if that skill set is still there, despite the drugs wearing off) If Charlie still has a role to play similar to season one down the line, then who's to say that she is not Jason's salvation?

I think Vairo is a great cast and also think Patrick Heusinger was also a good cast and there are plenty of guys for Charlie to play with. With Vairo the fun is it remains to be seen if there's a real once of goodness in him or not, but depending on that, I think we'll give us a better sense on whom Charlie should be with, but I think that "kiss" last season does say something about how she feels about Jason.

  10. I think we are hitting the 'lets take the foot off the metal moment to coast into and build on another arc' stage. I think we are right in the middle of the season (and they have to be careful depending on if "this is it" or not, because I think they will try and give us closure, even if it's not the closure they really wanted to give) and so it feels like they're about to turn tables on us. I just don't know how long it will take to get some kind of impact, but because of the title, I think the next episode might have some deaths...

  11. One personal comment: I'm liking this discussion...had a horrible one earlier with some trollish person ::shudder:: Love it when people can debate without resorting to name-calling.

I think part of the reason that people are drawn to certain couplings is b/c they themselves are attracted to various types. Me, I like them rugged, conflicted, and with just enough devil in them to keep you guessing. My favorite quote is by Caroline Lamb who described her love (Lord Byron) as "mad, bad, and dangerous to know..." That's how I feel about Monroe, and to see Charlie go against him toe-to-toe in that pool and later with that piece of rebar just had me in fits and giggles. I love that antagonistic love connection. They're my Beatrice and Benedict and my Kate and Petrucio.

But I get that others find relations that seem more compatible more desirable.

As for Connor. Ugh. I like Jason and look forward to seeing his character develop, but I just out-and-out detest Connor. He's a whiny little thuglette...even Monroe had this "wtf kind of man is my son" look on his face in the Captain Trips episode. Just not feeling it and am hoping for a dramatic ending for him.

  12. Thank you and it's been nice discussing with you also! :)

I think it's always important to remember that everything any of us think are mostly opinions and I agree that we are all drawn to different characters for different reasons, and simply, we can't always help who we like or don't like. I personally tend to think of characters often in spectrum and/or in terms of "why" someone might be written/directed that way and I tend to rarely point blank hate someone. I also try and treat people how I would want to be treated and I have never been fond of name calling or attempting to meet someone halfway. I don't see the benefit in being necessarily antagonistic to someone just because they have different point of view (especially over art and entertainment)

In terms of Conner I feel like it's too soon to tell, but I agree he comes of a bit of a "thuglette" (great word BTW) and I think it could go your way too. They could always kill Conner off and we get some kind of war with Monroe and whomever Monroe would want to blame. Only time will tell :)
