  2. What? I mean...what? That was just...what? Did they just...what? And Hale just...what? Those two did...what?

I am unable to process. Shutting down.

  3. i wasn't an awful episode. I guess it was supposed to be an emotional traumatizing episode but not awful at all. Quite dramatic intact. The acting was brilliant on everyone's part.

  4. Just finished watching. And I'm Crying :-( This is heartbreaking.

  5. i can't even type correctly I'm so broken right now

  6. If they don't bring him back, I'm not watching anymore.

  7. Oh god! Hope he's not dead for good! It was so fricking sad!

  8. Well awesome for the first 20 minutes of the episode, and awful for the last 5-6 minutes. I mean really dead! I don't like that one little bit. I only hope that we, will see him alive again.

  9. oh Kenzi, oh Hale..... and how tragic.

  10. This episode was so sad, but Ksenia acting, omg, i’m speechless. Beyond heartbreaking and very intense..

  11. Yes, that was heartbreaking and the acting was magnificent. But, does this mean that the bloody hand in 4.10 was Masimo? Also, no Lauren this episode so it felt a little bare. But, dude! How awesome was the fact that the resident succubus got into a school yard tussle with Linda Freaking Hamilton. And, I like TamDy/DyTam/SinSyn...I have no clue what to call them, but they just LOOK really good together...did I completely miss Tamsin's budding affections for the Dyson?

  12. I was mostly onboard with the episode, aside from some typically flat acting from Rick Howland ("Vex! Vex! VEX.") and the overwrought, racist voodoo queen.

The big problem is that the big death doesn't feel earned. For a series regular to get aced because of the whole "now that he's down, I'll turn my back" cliché just felt so flat. The fact that it was followed by Massimo's smarmy mugging while he explained what happened in detail didn't help.

The writers laid the groundwork for our dearly departed's post-death note injury, and used it as an opening for one of the most clichéd ways to kill a character who's been around since the very beginning.

It just smacked of laziness, or a lack of imagination. Or both. For such a big event, it just lacked weight for me since it felt so contrived.

Everything else was pretty good, especially Dyson's first appearance, Linda Hamilton again, and Bo's need for a breath mint, but the racism, both overt and subtle (voodoo woman vs. first cast regular to die), the flat acting in parts, and an unearned, clichéd death drop it to poor real quick.

  13. No, no, no, no, no, no, no

  14. What an ending, Poor Kenzi Hale is dead. I wonder what repercussions will that unleash?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes the final blow to Hale was cliched, but it makes the tragic circumstances possible and an interessting development for Kenzi. How will she cope with this? Will she forgive Bo? Survivors guilt or not?......
I am glad that they gave his death such a tragic twist it gave it more depth than without it. Without it would have just been to give the actor an out.
But my first thought was that Hale was dying because of some aftereffects from the opera singer (his ear bled...) and when he touches his own ear I though this is it, after using his power the effects take ist toll.

  16. I had my heart broken twice this episode, not only Hale but also Dyson. Bo breaking Dysons. My howling wolf.
And the Dyson Tamsin hook up was a bit rushed. In regard to the relationship between thos two it would have been more believable in S3, but they did make an effort of brining them to this point it's just they did not have many scenes together since TamTam is "adult" again, And it seems there is an out for Dyson from that "mate-for-life-thing".

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, is was an emotional traumatizing episode. The last scene was so sad and fierce. Kenzi will never be the same after this.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ksenia Solo KILLED that scene all props to her. I was expecting Hale's demise since the death note so I wasn't particularly shocked. I was shocked when Kenzi got hit by Massimo and heartbroken about Kenzi. She just can't catch a break can she?

As far as Tamsin/Dyson it felt awkward like it came out of nowhere (in s3 I would have bought it). The last time they had a scene together was way back when Tamsin wasn’t even Tamsin yet. Not to mention three episodes ago they hinted at Tamsin having some sort of feelings for Bo however unrequited they may be. So, three episodes later we are supposed to somehow buy into the notion that Tamsin has any sort of romatic interest in Dyson? couldn't they at least have hinted at it? For gods sake even a look? It just felt off like I missed some episode where these two interacted or something. The only positive is that at least Tamsin is not being pathetic over Bo.

Also I still don't understand what the hell is going on with Bo and Rainer. I can't buy into something just because Bo says it so far all I got is she touched a butterfly therefore Rainer is my destiny.

  19. This was diffidently a poignant episode and epic as well. I think this is Solo's best work, yet. The drama, twist and turns were not expected but seem to fit, for me at least. Good writing. If great writing doesn't spark a whole lot of emotions, even to the point of wanting to smash something, then it's not transcending or doing it's job. That was not the case in this episode. Kudos!

    ReplyDelete
  20. And your first thought, which I shared, was a much more elegant way for Hale to die. He withheld knowledge of his injury, and his final act was to save Kenzi. The good part is that this still would have left the guilt in Kenzi's court, since without the twig, Massimo would never have been able to survive the magma swim. So she's still to blame, Hale still dies, and we don't have to deal with Massimo, who is a pretty lame character. If he's absolutely needed in the final few episodes, he could have even scrambled away in the background.

The way it was done was just so ham-fisted and clumsy that it's hard to support it, especially when all the pieces for doing it elegantly were right there. It's as if someone spent all day buying the freshest ingredients to make dinner, had a great recipe, but decided to go with the one on the box, the one that used to much cheese.

    Missed opportunity.

Wonderful and heartbreaking episode. I love this show.

Poor Hale, but I knew that this was to happen to him :'( I hope this turns to become Kenzi in the badass shadow thief survivor that is destined to be.

PS. I LOVED the moment Evil Dead hand-Ash of Acacia lol

  23. Nooo you're killing me! I guess if he had to go this was pretty well done but it makes me really sad, specially for Kenzi, that girl needs a break.

  24. I agree, Ksenia is just mesmerising!

  29. I just can't watch this show any longer man. They killed off the only black actor that was on the show...

  30. What an episode.. TakeABow Ksenia Solo ... i have no words.. really feel shattered! The way Kenzi was hitting Bo saying .. i wanted to say yes.. i was going to say yes :( :(

  31. Except for the part where Tamsin shameless hops up on Dyson's lap and practically begs for a
response from Dyson as she is kissing him it wasn't all that bad. Just a word of warning alot of
people are going to be very pissed if the ptb put Tamsin with Dyson just saying. Well except for
the doccubus fans they will be happy about it because it takes out 2 rivals for Bo's affections
leaving only Rainer that stands in Lauren's way of getting back together with Bo.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You are wrong about Tamsin she is being pathetic over Bo. Why do you think she decided to hop up on Wolf boy's lap. She's in love with Bo and is sad that she doesn't feel she will get
a chance to tell Bo how she feels, so she's trying to comfort herself by using Dyson. Men and women do it all the time when they are in pain. Some use Alcohol and others use other means

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yes you did miss Tamsin's affection for Dyson because they don't exist.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That episode was on another level and for once I actually could process it as the writing was fairly coherent for a change. I loved it...well done Lost Girl for getting genuine emotion into an episode.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Don't give up on the show because he left....Hale will still be felt on the show and its storylines.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Omg yes I was cringing so hard when he kept yelling Vex so lamely >.<" Also tired of the no Lauren episodes with no explanation. Everytime Dyson is missing from the episode it's explained 50 times, but when she is absent, nada! Yes I am a biased Lauren fan but i like Dyson too but I'm tired of Lauren getting nothing in the ways of a decent storyline other than Bo T.T

    ReplyDelete
  37. I disagree I think her and Kenzie Had awesome tag team this season and I like how she's a mix of her past selves badassness and Kenzie personality and as for who bo is fucking who cares lets just let this be a fantasy show with a cool twist like when it started and let mourn hail first

    ReplyDelete
  38. I agree that it is a missed opportunity, but if I would keep considering them I could not enjoy the show. I decided to be more positive and focuse on the improved writing, still very flawed, but improved.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I love Dyson and his loyalty and I never minded the mate-for-life angle. Often the show gives the impression that it is destiny and not a choice made by Dyson. Laurens choice, loving and Standing by Bo, does seem more of her free will than Dysons. What made me thinking, that the show is presenting an escape was what the vodoo priestes said to Dyson of him making his own cage.....Could that have been a hint that mate-for-life is his making and if he chose to move on he actually could?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah I loved Tammers and Kenzi it rocked but for them to clearly show that Tamsin is in love with Bo and then have her ride Dyson like a pony is totally ridiculous. I am
okay with Bo returning back to the Bo of season 1. I loved that Bo. All I want is for
Tamsin to get a fair shot at having something with Bo. Bo is a succubus and is not
meant to be with one person despite what doccubus shippers say.

    ReplyDelete
  41. A lot of people call Tamsin and Dyson "Tyson" because of the boxing when they first met :-)
I kind of like them together, but rooting for Valkubus. I always will. But we've got to have drama in Lost Girl, and this will certainly create complicated drama!! I feel Tyson was a bit rushed... But I'm thrilled if the writers can work around the whole Dyson - one love problem. The wolf man can do so much more if he's not all about Bo!

Bo and Acacia fighting was awesome. Laughed so hard :-) I really hope Linda Hamilton will be back for more episodes, she's my favorite guest star (not counting regular guests as Vex and the Morrigan).

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree. I think Tamsin mainly hooked up with Dyson because Bo's suddenly all about Rayner :-( And it hurts that Bo seems so unreachable. And she recognize that hurt in Dyson too.

And also, he's frigging' good looking and adorable, and they do have a bond. So why not..

    ReplyDelete
  43. Me too! I don't care that they shock us with odd pairings and heartbreak that makes the shippers rage :-) I seriously LOVE this show!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree. They're both hurting. And Bo seems to really be invested in Rayner. Seems Tamsin just tried to get the both of them to move on. "Is that it?"
    So heartbreaking :-(

  45. I also think that the prison remark may mean a possible out for the mating-for-life Thing. But I can't quite shake off the dawning theory after last episode. The prison of your own makeing could also mean, Dyson is still stuck in there.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, wolves mate for life. But technically, Dyson did die in the dawning. That might count as a life. So maybe he can love someone else now, in his revived life? But I mostly hope that he can overcome the "One Mate" problem by choice.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think what gets me if what you are saying is true and I am not sure that I want to go there just yet, because it may just be a simple hookup to kill the
pain thing. The thing that gets me is that now they Tamsin and Dyson are
most likely going to come out feeling more empty more than ever. If this is
her attempt to move on then it's pretty pathetic and using Dyson is even
more pathetic. I hate what they have done to her. Last season she would
have told Dyson to stop being so pussy whipped and then invite him out to a bar so they can both go find some cold beer and hot women. Unfortunetly now Tamsin can't do that because now she's in the same boat as Dyson. That is what I mean by what they've done to Tamsin. Last year she would have given him a " Hey pathetic loser I'm gonna take you out and make you forget all about that Bitch Bo. Now Tamsin is basically reduced to practically BEGGING! Dyson to give in to her and that is just so freaking sad. What is even more sad is the three times she said " COME ON " it may have not been Dyson she was talking to. Tamsin may have been telling that to herself trying to feel something that isn't there. One last point if Tamsin has ever been attracted to Dyson then she never showed it and the writers never laid any ground work for any such attraction.

  48. The (only) two things I'm waiting for is:
    1) The MacGyver of Lost Girl Dr. Lauren "HotBody" Lewis saving her "Doccubus Mate" Bo, then together they will save the day by defeating Rayner/The Wanderer.
    2) The next character death this season..........who will it be indeed!
Other than for those two things I've lost my passion for this series and just don't care about the rest. 4 THE VERY LAST PALMERIST, I am still Nobody!!!

  49. Very good episode...MacKenzie killed her performance...&then they killed Hale...why? Smh...Honestly, I was caught up in the whole Kenzi-Hale Romance thing...it was edgy, fresh...I think it was a bit insensitive of the writers to kill off the only African-American actor on the show...they couldn't have left him mortally wounded? I can't help thinking this wasn't due to some hate-mail or a decision from some closed-minded people from high up on the food chain...I've watched the show since it started, but this may lose my vote as a fan...

    ReplyDelete
  50. "For them to clearly show that Tamsin is in love with Bo, and then have her ride Dyson like a pony is totally ridiculous." - Yes, Tamsin's in love with Bo, which is most likely why she asked Kenzi "Is that it? With Bo and the Wanderer, is that just...it?"

But Bo made it clear that her infatuation with Rainer isn't going away. So instead of staying lovesick over Bo, Tamsin decided to move on - Acacia's "wolf" remark either prompted her to go after Dyson, or indicated that Acacia knew about Tamsin's attraction to him.

The way I see it, the bar scene with Tamsin/Dyson was basically Tamsin's attempt to get Dyson to move on, too. There's no sense in both of them being heartbroken and lonely when they could be together. That doesn't make Tamsin a wimpy female version of Dyson, just the opposite.
