gave it a "good".... the weakness in the writing still annoyed me - notably that at the scene where the CIA were being told the Dr had created an upgraded chip unknown to anyone else and had implanted it in an enemy agent and that seemed like it was the first time that info had been disclosed was particularly weak to me. Also, it would be far more realistic (as the powers that be know about Mei Chen and the problems she could pose since she has their stolen tech) to eliminate her once she is in your sights... but I get that she is there to be a running nemesis for Gabriel. Not the best ep, but the promise is still there and I hope that things improve soon
Still not "awesome" in my opinion, but I definitely see an improvement from the previous chapters. I get some TV shows need some time to develop to their fullest and intelligence is doing a good job so far :)
Was it really necessary to make the team look completely incompetent? I had hoped, when the pilot finished and they'd let this thread drop, that when they redressed it they were going to go with the extremely simple solution of indicating that they'd *looked* for the spies/kidnappers only to find that they'd escaped. Then here...they've had other agents trying to determine if she'd survived or not. But instead they decide to go with 'everyone assumed she didn't survive. Really? Your top scientist implants another country's spy with the next generation version of your top secret tech and you only ASSUME that she didn't survive the surgery?!?!?! Really!?!?! {deep breath}
To further weaken this story...the casting of Mei Chen didn't work for me at all. I know an argument can be made for a sleeper agent presenting as completely American but this actress barely read as ethnic Chinese for me. The character was described as a Chinese spy so the casting threw me off. I kept studying her eyes trying to figure out if they'd hired a Chinese actress. Which is to say, I kept getting kicked out of the story.
I continue to enjoy it, too bad it's as good as cancelled. Josh is great in the role; Megan didn't have much to do here but she was also good. I am very surprised at how little procedural this show is; so far, I think it's more serial than procedural. Not complaining, just saying.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Definitely better than the previous 2, but still needs to improve. Hopefully next week things will be on the right track
ReplyDeletei was a little bored . saw the next promo- i hope it'll be action packed
