Amazing episode. Similar but also different from the paintball episodes. I was a bit worried with them doing a themed episode for Troy's goodbye, but it was very well done! Troy's goodbye to everyone in the study group was touching, and I liked him looking at the study room one last time.
But the biggest surprise of the night was LeVar Burton! I knew he was coming back a while ago but I totally forgot! What a perfect sailing companion for Troy! And it's "clone" Troy so he can actually talk to him this time. I also love that the song played was "Come Sail Away" by Styx because of this line said by Troy in Season 1: "Why am I crying? Will I accidentally listen to Come Sail Away by Styx again?"
This season has been great so far, and I haven't seen any better send offs to characters than what we've gotten with Pierce and Troy. Bon Troyage! Come back in the sixth season and the movie, Troy!
My god that was terrible. Not the episode the episode was fantastic but I'm literally sobbing. Troy has been my favorite character since early season 1 and to see him leave is breaking my heart.
I loved the episode it was really good start to finish, but that end, it was perfect. Every goodbye was perfect (Especially his goodbye to Annie my god that was adorable.) IT was great to see LeVar as well, and Troy raises a good point, they never do visit a star on Star Trek.
Troy, you take the Childish Tycoon and LeVar, sail the world, and come back to Greendale soon. We're going to miss you.
amazing... kudos to Dan Harmon and the cast for cramming all the hilarity as well as all the feels into 22 minutes... a sad/hilarious but definitely fitting send off for Troy/Donald - liked the nod to his rapper persona as the name of the boat - on a random side note, I guess this is the first time (to my knowledge) that they've mentioned that Greendale is set in Colorado... lol
I am so damn sad right now, when Abed admitted he saw real lava I nearly lost it. The Abed/Troy relationship has always been my favourite part of the show, in fact it was seeing gifs on Tumblr of their interactions that encouraged me to watch Community in the first place. Troy will be really missed.
Awesome! Such an amazing episode! It was the perfect send off for Troy, both emotional and funny. The Hot Lava game, wow! Troy and Abed in a bubble!! Shirley Island! The Clone Machine! Britta & Hickey! Levar Burton! :-) Thanks for being back Mr Dan Harmon! And that ending! All the goodbyes were really sweet but when Troy and Abed's clones hugged in the final moment...never thought I would cry like that watching Community! And Abed faking death forever was the most beautiful scene I have seen in this show! I wish Troy -after everything Scrubs did to him!!!- a bon Troyage and I hope he will come back to Greendale ASAP! I miss him already.
This episode barely got a few chuckles out of me, I get that the tone of the episode was one of emotions because of Troy leaving and stuff but the essence of the show is still comedy and this was more of an adventure drama episode if anything. Paintball was by far a better themed concept episode and this one doesn't even compare, paintball was also adventurous but hilarious in a typically weird community way. This one fell short of that standard. I think Harmon has lost his season 1 and season 2 magic, the last bottle episode fell way short of "cooperative caligraphy" from season 2 and this episode fell way short of the paintball episodes from season 1 and season 2.
In all honestly, I have liked only 2 of the 5 episodes this season.
This episode was perfect. The last 3 episodes have been amongst my favorite Community episodes. I didn't have the problem with Season 4 many had but now I am realizing how much was missing there. This season has been incredible so far. I will miss Troy and Donald Glover a lot and I was a bit teared up in the last scene when he was saying goodbye to everyone, extremely well done.
Dude, check this out. I never caught any of these. Mind=Blown. http://www.cracked.com/article_20677_6-insane-easter-eggs-buried-in-famous-tv-shows.html

That was sad. I'm definitely going to miss Troy. And LOL at him asking Levar Burton questions about Star Trek.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode!

i didn't expect to cry, but everyone saying their goodbyes to Troy got me. I'm glad his send-off was a well-done episode
ReplyDeletePoor
ReplyDeleteGet a heart.
