Did Chevy seriously come back for a cameo? If that wasn't just reused footage then I gotta give him a hand for giving us one last hurrah as Pierce, gonna miss him.
Great episode all around, here we go with episode 2
Awesome episode! It's like having an old friend back after being away for so long.
All the interviews and such were right, they definitely regrounded the characters while also moving forward. Also loved all the "gas leak year" jabs at last year.
Pierce's cameo was a nice touch too. Pierce was entertaining when he was cruel, but he was great when he was poignant and wise.
Pierce's Cameo was a great moment. Also loved Jeff's fond grin when looking at the debate trophy. Jeff/Annie fans remember that episode fondly as well. Kind of disappointed that Annie taking pills again was basically a throwaway gag.
When was it mentioned that Annie's taking pills? I know that she was saying that she's "helping to hook a whole new batch of Little Annies on Aderal" now that she works for a pharmaceutical company, not that she was taking pills herself. At least that's how i understood it, or maybe I just missed something.
God, I had missed the show! So happy to have it back!! I liked the episode. It was definitely one of the most plotting intense episodes Community has ever done, but it worked for me. I still think Joel McHale is one of the most underrated comedy actors of our generation by the way. I did think that them all being so miserable that their only solution was to come back to Greendale was a little too sad, I would have preferred if that part went differently - no biggie though. I loved the Troy reference to Donald leaving the show (so sad!) and I actually loved the Pierce cameo too!
Yeah, she said "I'd be depressed right now if these samples from work weren't giving me a new outlook on life. If you're interested in learning more, ask your doctor if Joywatrex is right for you. *breaks down crying*"
I don't know, I haven't thought of it in a way that Annie had started taking pills again, I guess I just understood it in a different way.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
God, I've missed this show.
ReplyDeleteWas not expecting the Pierce cameo. Brilliant.

Missed the show! Surprised Chevy appeared - wasn't expecting that.
ReplyDeleteJeff as a teacher should be interesting.

ReplyDeleteWhen they are about to burn the desks Annie says something like "I'd be depressed right now if I hadn't taken some samples from work".
