So, I liked the episode but I was kinda bored in some parts. By far the most interesting scene was the end with Red - I liked that he didn't chose to find out what happened to his family - but I am really hoping that whatever background they come up with isn't so cliche.
Can someone explain to me how this show just keeps getting better every week? I'm gonna be afraid to watch the season finale for fear of a cardiac arrest! Another fantastic episode. The scene with Liz walking through the room with all the women in the beds, her mouth hanging open, was pure heart stopping genius.
A really nice episode that will mean more later at the end of the season I bet!
I always knew Fowler was working against Red, but I did not expect her to be the "inside man" necessarily. I suspected she was more on the outside pulling strings and that there would be a mole close to Liz and/ or Red.
Hmmmm, II'm still not sure Fowler was the inside mole, or not the only mole inside the team... As oversight she would usually be a step or two behind the team and not of much use,. Likewise, while Grey was privy to Red's dealings, he was not in the field with him or in constant contact as far as we know. I suspect he would be a step behind the team as well. Both would have important roles to play, but to be most effective I would expect there would need to be a mole inside the team itself or directly connected to Lizzie... I always expected Meera or Tom to be the inside mole honestly... Oh well.
After they discovered the baby factory the female FBI agent said that some of the charts go back years... That comment was completely unneeded and a huge red flag to me... It has to come into play later....Could they go back to 90 when Red's family was allegedly killed? Or maybe they go have something to do with Lizzie? Some sort of baby swap?
I'm glad Fowler is dead! XD I always found her a bit over the top and unneeded ... Plus her death opens the story up to a lot of possibilities in the future.
That COTW was pulled right out of the current headlines basically! Crazy to think of that fertility clinic worker (an ex-con no less) used his own sperm for so many of the babies! http://www.wjla.com/articles/2014/01/at-utah-fertility-clinic-felon-swapped-his-sperm-for-customers-and-fathers-child-99246.html
Another awesome episode, closing with another delicious little morsel of backstory. I love the way they're revealing Red's past to the audience, one puzzle piece at a time.
So why is nobody talking about the fact that Red DOESN'T KNOW what happened to his family? Thus proving that Liz is NOT his daughter...he obviously knows what's happened with her. He would have known Liz when she was a child..so that's my concrete proof that he's not..halleluiah.
Mr. Kaplan is great but not THAT much! lol! I mean they were multiple shots on her middle section, how could it possibly be a suicide? Maybe a robbery gone wrong?
Tom being so hurt about the marriage and going to seek comfort makes me think maybe he's not a super spy keeping tabs on Liz? That makes Red really sinister towards his lengths to keep Liz from being happy with Tom, esp since this cost her a child. If Red doesn't know what happened to his family, then maybe Liz really isn't his daughter but then what he said to her adoptive father and Tom outside afterwards makes no sense.... This episode confused me so much, lol.
it was a great episode every week keeps getting better and better definetly Red is getting closer trying to get Tom and Lizzie apart and im hating it! Those final minutes were really great Spader neevr dissapoint in giving a great acting and that scene was awsome
I have always felt that too, but never expressed it
I'm not sure it is 100% concrete proof of anything though... I can think of a couple ways Liz could be his daughter and Red would still be looking for someone... - Red could have two daughters and is looking for the second one... - Red could be looking for his wife - Red could be looking for leverage over his adversary....
It was my favorite of these three January episodes, by a mile. Loved Red dealing with the mole and I did not see it coming that it was Diane. I also agree with those that say that the fact that Red doesn't know what happened to this family sort of cuts short the idea that Liz is his daughter. Very intriguing. I also though the case was one of their best ones yet.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThis show is insane. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love the music they use on this show. The last 10 minutes was especially terrific.
ReplyDeleteLoved the episode except for the case of the week. It was okay.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess I was completely wrong about Meera being the mole! Was not expecting Diane to be the mole either so that also came as a shock.
And I'm glad Lizzie decided to call off the adoption. Both Lizzie and Tom are clearly not ready to start a family yet.
Good episode and another very good perfomance from Spader.
ReplyDeleteNow we just nee to wait a month for NeXT episode:(
Great, this is a perfect example to show either genuine character growth, characterization, or plot development

It was nice to see Mr Kaplan again!
so I wonder how they explain Fowler "death" Red cleaner probably will make look like a suicide?

I do not believe those theories, but...
The show is incredibly good at making me think I know something only to have to reconsider in a week or two! XD
ReplyDeleteI love the open-endedness of the questions regarding the show's myth arc!
Too many shows reveal too much too fast...
This. I Salute the Music director of the show ever episode.
