Somehow I'm glad I didn't read the books but there is this little spoiler-me part of myself that wants to read the book now to know earlier how it's going down.. It's sad that he is gone! He brought some fun into it..
Space channel only released the ratings for the first episode. If Bitten says around the premiere numbers, I have no doubt it will be renewed. http://bellmediapr.ca/Network/Space/Press/BITTEN-Takes-a-Bite-Out-of-Saturday-Night-with-265000-Viewers-in-Series-Premiere-on-Space
It was a very good ep but I have to admit I got a bit worked up when one moment Elena tries to prove a lie to Clay and 'hurts' him, and the next she's gone home and spreads her legs on the spot for and is all smiley with Philip - who she tries to think she loves - and it feels soooo good to be home and f**ked that she could almost ask 'Clay who?' when it't obvious she feels something for him. It's kind of unreal to me. Yeah, he's her boyfriend and everything, and I'm not against 'long time no see sex' at all, but it still felt kind of bitchy and/or unnatural. Maybe it's only because I'm just not the love-triangle liker girl, but I still was a little disappointed in her, sorry.
She's using Philip. I'm not saying she doesn't care about him, but she's not in love with Philip. She just wants to pretend she's still human. And eventually that is going to blow up on her. She does still love Clay, but she's not ready to be with him. I'm hoping at some point Philip will find out what she's doing.
Yeah and that makes me ask myself what's better... living honest and try not to change what can be unchanged, because what poor Pete said, that ship has sailed years ago is true, or using somebody and deprive him of true love while living in war with one's nature. Sounds a little hypocritical with all that 'good life' and 'normal life' speech. But I'm sure this is the rocky start and it will be solved somehow.
If Bitten was on one of the big Canadian channels that would be a bad rating. Bitten is on a specialty channel though so bringing that into consideration that rating is pretty good.
@BillBriouxTV on twitter. He used to post canadian tv ratings on the website TV, eh? before it pseudo-shut down, and now he posts the ratings on twitter. As for bad news for the show, yes, if it keeps dropping, but it's not uncommon for new shows to drop a bit for the first few episodes. I guess we'll see? Hoping for the best, because I LOVE the show. :)
Thanks. I will have to follow him on twitter. I figured Bitten would drop some and if it stays around 200k I think it would be safe. I don't know if it went any lower though. It's hard to really know one way or the other with Canadian shows since networks don't release their ratings all the time.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Loved it!
ReplyDeleteHow is this series doing in the ratings? I never see any numbers on here.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a good ep, sad ending. I kind of knew something was going to happen since they are following the books.
ReplyDeleteWe very rarely get Canadian ratings unfortunately
ReplyDeleteI saw the three first chapters in a row and I found myself a little bit obsessed, I hope this does well and they keep going.
ReplyDeleteNice Episode, was a little iffy in that it went back to the Human stuff for a bit with Phillip, but hope with this tragedy she stays for good now.
ReplyDeletethey are completely following the books,so no suspense for me!! wish i hadn't read the books.

This episode had some really intensive and sad moments.
ReplyDeleteI didn't read the books. I did look up some wiki stuff on the book plots, though.

ReplyDeleteWell, that's what makes for the drama. You know she's going to hurt him. She's going to hurt both of them and herself.
ReplyDeleteThat's sure... I only hope they don't make it to Twilightish...

ReplyDelete2nd episode was 215K, and the third was 195K. (on space)
ReplyDeleteI'm having problems finding the Syfy numbers. Any tips and/or links? I'd appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind me asking, where did you get those ratings? If Bitten keeps dropping like that, it may be bad news for the show.
