I was not expecting Roy to find out so soon, but it was very good! Enjoyed this one a lot!
    GO TEAM ARROW!

  3. Still not impressed with Bronze Tiger, I expected better fight sequences this time around.

I liked the Roy stuff, they need to keep him snarky in his scenes with Oliver and give him scenes with Felicity being dorky to counteract angry/petulant Roy. I need some balance so he doesn't become annoying. I dI'd like the saving my life speech and thh way Roy forgave Oliver for shooting him.

Slade/Oliver damn near broke my heart, poor Slade.

  4. ....

    - Haynes needs to get an acting teacher, probably quickly because I can't see anyone consider this performance to be anything close to acceptable. I don't set high acting standards in this show as long as the acting isn't so bad it kicks me out of the atmosphere and makes me feel like I'm watching a soap opera. But sadly most soap stars are better.

    - Bronze Tiger is a badass, nothing to be added to that. I liked the suicide squad actually becoming a thing.

    - sadly the plot was thiner than air. "Guy wants to plant a bomb, Arrow teaches Roy and reveals his identity, Moira 4 mayor, Laurel has issues" is the most detailed plot summary for this episode. This was clearly a filler in terms of storytelling. There's no part of the main story arc moving forward (if you really want Sara returning to count the go ahead and count 00.02 seconds for plot developement).

    - the flashbacks were sadly as thin as the plot. We used to have whole subplots going on but now we have Oliver and Sara walking and talking. Ironically the best scene was a fashback, Slade and Olivers confrontation was well acted

I'm sorry to be such a downer but this is sadly becoming ridiculous. If you want to tell a story don't artificially enhance it, I still feel the Blood-plot hanging over my head. Blood should have been resolved two episodes ago.

    next week looks promising tough...

  5. Freakin' awesome episode!!

I am so glad that Oliver finally revealed himself to Roy. I can't wait for this new partnership between these two! Team Arrow FTW!

Woah at another Amanda Waller appearance recruiting Bronze Tiger! This means that we will start to see A.R.G.U.S. more which I am so freakin' excited for!

And HELL YES to Sara at the end!!! So glad she is back. I have missed present day Sara so much.

    Can't wait for next week!

  6. I loved that They said "TEAM ARROW" I love it when they listen to the fans, and use our lingo, it's awesome! = )

  7. Omggg this show keeps getting better every freakin week lovee it roy knows about oliver and sara is back yeeees can't wait for next week :)

  8. Exciting Episode indeed. Now, i didn't see Oliver revealing his identity to Roy, but better soon than later. Now, they'll focus on them being a growing partners, so that's good.

I couldn't help notice during the end scene that Laurel manage to arrive HOME after all the action between Green/Red Arrow and Bronze Tiger, The cab must have been driving Laurel around the block for a while, can't imagine the fare, lol

  9. Eh the earthquake device's timer was at 57 seconds and Oliver/Roy had time for tea and a heart to heart chat...that had me laughing and not for the right reasons.

I see what Arrow are doing with Laurel Lance its the tare down to build up s/l / I hope ARROW writers can pull it off a Good tare down 2 build up S/L works well 4 character development & the character If that is what ARROW are doing ( I think they are ) with Laurel it should be good. Great seeing Cynthia as Amanda Waller , Awesome seeing Annie Ilonzeh and Katie Cassidy in scenes I missed them. Bronze Tiger was good to see also Suicide Squad hell yes . Lance Family time I love scenes with Katie Cassidy and Paul Blackthorne they work so well together . love seeing the Queen Women on Arrow Thea and Moira. Moira vs Blood for Mayor . TOMMY FEELS

  11. A terrorist collaborator for mayor? Right.

  12. This episode was totally AWESOME!!! I like that Roy knows about the "Team Arrow" but I didn't expect it to happen so soon, even with the promo I was sure he wasn't going to found out about Oliver's secret yet. I am so happy that happened!

Can't wait to see Roy interact with Thea now that he knows about Oliver.

    ReplyDelete
  13. why doesn't oliver just announce his alter ego to the entire world? by season 3 everyone will know anyway

    ReplyDelete
  14. great ep! Even though it was obvious that Roy (aka Speedy or Arsenal or whatever they are going to make him in this show) would eventually know Oliver's secret, I"m still not sure that I like that Oliver revealed it so quickly, but the reasons given were acceptable. I knew that he would call Sarah to help out with Laurel - and unless they have her pass it off as a drunken hallucination (which I hope they do) it's a countdown til Laurel knows the secret as well... but I do like the touch of bringing her in. Interesting developments with Moira planning on running against Blood and Amanda Waller recruiting B Tiger for her hit squad.. iirc, she already knows the Arrow's secret (who doesn't at this point....lol) so it will be very interesting to find out what her agenda will be......

  15. k about it gonna be fun to watch.but I really think thea might stumble upon all the lies in her life from her parentage to Malcolm Merlyn to ollie secret which maybe a crush her I really would love to see that and judging from one of Colton interview it may happen

    ReplyDelete
  16. The people that need to know, know, This is perfect! Let the Awesomeness Continue!

and also Laurel needs to Know Sara is Alive. I don't know Laurel's Purpose atm, but I just don't want it to be depressing to watch.

  17. This was a really good episode. My favorite part was when Felicity was like "is that judgement I hear?" And Oliver was like "it's pride" i love my Olicity scenes, they are so adorable. Ok so I like when Oliver was trying to train Roy, and Roy was resistant. Yes Roy is angry but I have a feeling that Roy might get tempted to the dark side, I don't know why but I think it would be nice if that is where they took his character. Bronze Tiger was good. I will say I was surprised that Oliver revealed his identity to Roy so early, but I guess it had to happen and why keep us in suspense. Overall it was a rally great episode. Next weeks looks good as well.

  18. Great episode and very interesting ending :) guess we know who Oliver called in the club :)

  19. Freakin' ending!

  20. Holy mackerels! That episode was EPIC!!!!!

I was so peeved at Roy early on in that episode, but when Oliver revealed himself, my heart just melted. I cannot wait to see what the writers have come up with next for Roy and Ollie.

  21. I keep waiting to Batman make an appearance...
This Episode I taught it was very predictable everything that happened in it, but still a very good episode.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh yeah, loved every minute of it. This is how you do it right.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Man, said it last week, will say it every week. Just give up on this show, it's obviously taken a turn you don't like and... Ahh to hell with it, your entitled to your opinion. Just try not to be such a Debbie Downer about it. Accentuate the positive!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Reminds me of the bombs attached to Reese and I forgot the other's name on POI that supposedly had 15 minutes to blow up and were so ridiculous. These time issues are pretty common in most TV shows.

    ReplyDelete
  25. so much stuff happened on tonight episode...im so glad oli revealedhis true identity to Roy

    ReplyDelete
  26. Roy learning Oliver's secret is not important for this show's future? Okay good to know, and I think there is a whole lot that can be done with Blood's storyline and completely disagree with you about it.

Also, if you think we always used to have whole subplots in thr flaahbacks. maybe you should rewatch the flashbacks in the first episodes of this season..

    ReplyDelete
  27. Gotta say I loved it.
    Bring on the suicide squad.
Looks like Oliver had Sara's phone all along, and he didn't give it to Quentin. Naughty boy.
I wonder who was sitting on the bar watching him when he called her, probably someone from the league that then called Nyssa to tell her Sara was coming back to town.
Roy knows the secret now. I'm not sure that's such a good idea, unless he learns to control himself.
Bronze Tiger was much more interesting now.
I still don't why Walter and his friend think Moira should run to Mayor but whatever.. I can't see myself forgiving her and voting for her if I lived on Starling City.

  28. Really liked this episode, although it did not make sense to break out Bronze Tiger in case the Arrow disturbes the heist. I mean the Bronze Tiger lead the Arrow to the heist.... But who cares, everything else was fantastic. This episode proved again why I love this show. It is an action show that takes time with character relationships and development without dragging it. Very happy that Oliver braught in Roy so quick. And great for pointing out that toom many people know his secret. Nice seeing more of Thea, Moira and Walter. I like what they are doing with Laurens storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Solid episode. I liked how all the parts seemed to fall in line this episode so well.
I just hope the Laurel storyline wraps up soon, and for once not because I cant stand her character/acting (which was the case in S1 & early S2...but last 4-5 eps shes become useful to the storylines), but because I hope this downfall of her somehow is redeemed by her taking down Blood in some way.... and I'd rather see that sooner than later.
    Team Arrow

  30. I go for great.

The Roy storyline was outstanding (if one ignores the fact that Merlyn put the earthquake machine on a fault line to get the impact he got, so I had a hard time to believe that sitting in a box in a harbour would have THAT much of an impact).

The Moira storyline was great in itself (it's time for her to get something to do, and the mother/daughter moments are always nice), but would have worked way better if they hadn't messed up State vs. Queen. If back then they had portrayed the result of the trial more as some fifty/fifty thing than it would be now more believable that she has a shot of swaying the people.

The Laurel storyline seriously dragged the episode down. They really hit every cliché in the book. No, real alcoholics don't necessarily suddenly become all messy or act out in public. Laurel wasn't that way before, and since she mostly took drugs in order to pretend that everything was fine, it makes no sense that she would now act like a party girl.

I still blend out whenever the Island flashbacks come. And I think Waller was miscast.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You know, when a show let me down so hard as 'Arrow' does for you -every week, it seems- I move on. Life is short, "ridiculous" is wasting time with something you hate.

    ReplyDelete
  32. He's Superman without the flying, why does he need a bow?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good episode. Lot of things happened this episode. The most I liked was Moira being a candidate for Mayor. Oh how I missed Walter. It was exciting to see him on my screen. Colin Salmon is awesome. When I first heard spoilers about Moira being Mayor I was very sceptical but this episode give a different perspective. The scenes between Moira, Thea and Walter was very good. Thea is on her way to knowing Malcom is her daddy.

yay.. Sara is back. Thats great but its really difficult seeing Laurel's addiction story anymore. Whole episode everyone told Laurel you need help and she said I am fine. I know that an addiction problem will not go away in one episode but to see the same thing said again and again episode after episode is difficult. Katie was okay this episode but Laurel still meh.. Can't wait for Lance sister reunion next week.

Now Arrow training and revealing himself to Roy. I liked it and disliked it equally. I didn't expect a reveal this soon but it was done in a believable way. Can't wait to see how Roy gets along with Diggle and Felicity both of whom don't trust his head much. Main issue with Roy I had was his lack of control and anger looked a bit fake compared to what Slade showed us in the island. Manu Bennett is so so above Colton Haynes in acting department that when he gets angry we feel kind of a chill and concern for him whereas when Roy gets angry he comes off as so childish.

Liked Bronze Tiger this episode much more than last outing. Michael Jay White is great and Amanda Waller recruiting him for Suicide squad was really cool..

Over all a good episode things happened but I hope they reduce Laurel and Roy a little bit next episode. Nyssa looks bad ass. Can't wait.

  34. Roy is a child, though, at least compared to Slade, who is a seasoned warrior. Roy was drifting before he meet Thea and found a purpose in his Arrow worship, Slade knew exactly where he stood in life. Roy lacks direction, training and self-confidence, while Slade has all of this in spades.
I hope he and Thea made properly up next episode. While he can't tell her about Arrow, he nevertheless owes her some explanations.

    ReplyDelete
  35. What I liked about Bronze Tiger was he wasn't a villain but more a guy stealing only to get paid. He doesn't have this special agenda or anything and that makes him different than most of the bad guys we saw on Arrow until now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. But, Roy has Thea (and Sin) to keep him grounded. Slade didn't have Shado anymore and he's going to cut himself from Oliver too when he finds out about how Shado died.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I disagree with you this week. The plot did move forward. But that being said

Arrow has too many different factions or story lines open now and instead of closing one chapter they are opening another and again another. We already have deathstroke, Brother Blood, League of Assasins/ Ra's Al Ghul, Isabel rochev, HIVE, Malcolm Merlyn, Professor Ivo all in the open and now they have added Suicide Squad. I am not a huge fan of these many storylines together. I would like them to wrap up atleast one or two for now. Maybe you feel the same.

Still Arrow makes exciting television week in week out for me.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I know Roy is a child and does not have that world weariness that Slade has but there is a sincerity lacking in his anger for me to believe it. What makes Roy so angry? I know he had a tough childhood, moved around in wrong circles but now your idol is trying to train you to be good. He still has friends. i don't get his anger.

May be I will change my opinion in coming episodes once he starts working with Diggle and Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The point is that Slade was an adult with adult experience under his belt, so it is logical that he would react with purposefully planning, no matter how crazy his actions are. Roy is a barely grown-up who was struggling beforehand, so it makes sense that he would act more like a confused child, ready to leash out but also afraid of himself.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I agree. No evil agendas he only wants to be paid. That was good. I thought even deadshot was another mercenary with not much agenda. After all he killed Dig's brother for money right. They will make a great suicide squad.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh it happens all the time in movies and TV Shows but this was just so blatantly bad that I couldn't help but laugh. I mean if there was like 3 or 5 minutes on the counter but they showed it start at like 59 or 57 seconds and then wasted 2 minutes of screen-time.

    ReplyDelete
  42. He was angry with the world from the get go. Feelings like this don't vanish simply because someone picks a different path. The anger was always there, and without his friends, he would most likely wouldn't have any control at all.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Does it mean that Amanda Waller is the woman Fyers called in 1x22? It sure seems that way.

Moira, what are you going to do? Are you gonna kill the doctor because he knows Thea isn't Robert's daughter? I am wondering when she told Walter that Thea is Malcolm's daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Loved this episode! I was hoping Roy would find out quickly but didn't expect it to happen. I'm glad that Sara's back too! Moira running for Mayor? I'm not sure how plausible it is that people would vote for her after everything that happened. Then again I'm Greek and we have voted for worse. One thing that did bug me is Diggle. I love his character but lately he is constantly in the background. I know we have a lot of characters this season but they need to find some balance. Loved Quentin as always!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I found it hard to suspend my disbelief that Roy had no idea Arrow was Oliver, so I am glad he now knows. Kind of think it was a bit silly to think he didn't when he was spending so much time close to 'Arrow'.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Roy barely knows Oliver though and is not the smartest guy in this show. I would have found it unbelievable had it was someone else but it worked with Roy.

    ReplyDelete
  47. nope, I already said it. I won't. I have hopes and I'll stick with it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I agree with your take on Laurel, for me I felt she overacted with it. The whole bar scene, and her stumbling THAT much just to hit the floor. It just seemed like she was trying too hard to make us believe that she was plastered. I just couldn't buy it. I was actually defendant of the party girls and guys out there. Lol like hell when they're drunk, well they're' DRUNK, and it's not that over the top. Idk w/e I just thought it was crappy acting on those scenes. Didn't make me care for Laurel still. I think we have one more episode with this whole Laurel spiraling thing, after that. I'll be glad when it's over.

And as for Amanda Waller, of course she was, for one thing, Amanda is supposed to be a heavy set woman. For them to get an attractive skinny set woman, kinda just throws the awesomness out of it. But iI'm still excited that she, Amanda, is on the show, and I can't wait to see what's next.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Not any time soon. He's got awhile to go before Ollie let's that happen.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I chalk Laurel's acting up to bad directing - the actress has yet to convince me of her abilities, but I always hesitate to blame an actress for a storyline which is so obviously badly written.

since I don't read the comics, I am pretty open for other interpretations of the character, but the actress is simply to young to be believable in such a high position and lacks the presence I would expect from the leader of a secret organisation. Gina Torres for example is also slim and good looking, but I can see her playing the role convincingly, because she has the right age and presence (though a heavy actress would be awesome).

    ReplyDelete
  51. Symbolic reasons. When Oliver tried to teach Helena, he said that the bow teaches self-control. She ultimately rejected the weapon, picked up the crossbow instead and became a killer driven by revenge. Roy learning the use a bow will be the proof that he has his emotions under control.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think she didn't went home directly but organized her "fix" elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm glad she did. I still hope that they will salvage their relationship at one point, but it won't work as long as she keeps secrets from him.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The episode was amazingly awesome! Loved all the revelations, already in love with Oliver/Roy bromance!

So Red Arrow is officially on board! And that end, I hope that Laurel doesn't think that Sara is a side effect of hangover lol

  58. Nicolás Caballero Mühlbach30 January 2014 at 16:45

Besides, Roy is one of sidekicks of Green Arrow in the comics, he has to become Speedy, Arsenal o Red Arrow or whichever name that the gods of the show choose :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Sara was trying to protect Laurel when she was in Starling, and came back to help her now too. If Nyssa and Sara were lovers, I bet she knows how much Sara cares about Laurel and feels sorry for what she did to her. Watching Laurel and waiting for Sara to show up sounds like a better idea to me than searching for her all over the world.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Cassidy pretending to be drunk was the worst thing I have ever seen on a television.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Great, see what happens when you allow the other stories besides Oliver/Felicity to breath without worrying about what it means for the tech girl

    ReplyDelete
  62. It's all filming/editing mistakes. Like forgetting to fix the clock on the wall when shooting/reshooting the same scene.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I agree so much about Laurel. I am tired of complaining about Laurel every week. So refrained from doing so this week. The character has become so unlikable that I can't squeeze even an ounce of sympathy for her. Such a self involved character.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Loved loved the Roy/Oliver scenes. I am so happy with that relationship, can't wait to see more of it. Also major points for the return of Sarah, I love her character, can't wait to see how that impacts Laurel. I thought Moira as Mayor is a fine storyline, I don't feel strongly about it, let's see.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I think it was more watching Laurel than knowing Sara would be back.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The one that bugs me most from POI is in Zero Day in the last scene where the time jumps from 23:56:16 to 23:56:03. Then it goes to 23:59:44 before jumping 55 seconds later to it being 1min 4secs to midnight then somehow exactly a minute after 23:59:44, it is 23:59:44 again!

    ReplyDelete
  67. so is Amanda Walker and ARGUS good or bad.......they are a threat to team arrow

    ReplyDelete
  68. So Roy finally part of the team! when does he start shooting arrows
