  3. I love this storyline. The relationships between these characters are complex and fun to watch as they ebb and flow. Imagine, Fusco was dispatched by Finch -- and/or chose to go and sought Finch's assistance -- to find Reese -- who is grieving. Kevin Chapman, in a very recent interview, spoke about how the whole point is that Fusco, like Reese, is grieving in ways the others aren't. Finch liked Carter but it was Reese and Fusco who were friends/partners with Carter. To them the loss is much more profound. Reese is damaged and broken and disillusioned. When Fusco couldn't get through to him through talk, he decided to let Reese work out some of his anger on Fusco. Once again, Lionel Fusco is proving himself a changed man from Season 1. Sure, a second Machine is exciting and sets up much of the action and intrigue, but without characters that we can relate to and grieve with -- as well as laugh and shout in triumph with while they burn the city down and shoot up everything in sight, it's all flash with no substance. I'll take a moment and compare PoI to Blacklist -- which I love: Blacklist is flashy, well-written, finely acted, and James Spader is exquisite as Reddington, but I don't care about any of the characters. It's highly enjoyable...for that one hour. PoI has characters I care about. I'm interested in Finch's love story with Grace and his friendship with Nathan. I'm intrigued with Fusco as a father, partner, ex-crooked cop and now friend to Reese and all the rest: Shaw, the dearly departed Carter, Elias, Reese, Root. Blacklist I watch once; PoI I'll watch several times -- and buy the DVDs. I don't expect much Reese time tonight, the set up continues for the second Machine and where it spins us into the rest of the season. But, I do expect Reese to come front and center and resolve his current emotional/mental state in the not-too-distant future.

  4. Excuse me???
I am not saying it is not important. It surely is. But do we know how that is going to play out? We most probably do. It will take some time and maybe some twists and then Reese will come back and join the team again.
But what was the cliffhanger? What are we dying to see happen next? What surprised us in the last episode?
The second machine! The revelation of Ma'am! The Finch/Arthur situation!
Now tell me, honestly - isn't that more interesting currently? Isn't that the primary reason you are excited about the upcoming episode?
So next time, please avoid that kind of language towards a fellow fan, thank you.

    Yeah, excuse you.

It's okay, but you can't just shift 100% focus and to tell you the truth, I rolled my eyes at Ma'am. It's like "what else can we fill the show with more to make up for the loss of Carter...? Oh, a second machine."

It's cool, but you can't just get ALL the way over in a span of two episodes. He obviously cared a lot about her and just jumping back into another story line would seem disingenuous to her character. Plus, he never got to grieve for the last woman he cared deeply for, and she did change him, so he's going to be hurt for a while.

Let that man breathe. Fusco too.

  6. I agree. But you can't have a TV show pause for a few episodes and just mourne. "The numbers never stop coming", remember.
Speaking for myself, this whole second machine thing seems pretty solid and I am sure it won't be just something silly to throw in as to replace Carter. The writers have always managed to keep things unique and believable yet, I don't see why this should be different.
    Anyway, we'll see soon enough.

  8. Oh, these two are priceless lately. I love their scenes! They were like little boys scuffling in the schoolyard. I have never seen them quite like this!
