I really hope that the test comes back negetive for Olivia. Cassidy will leave her he's the type to be a dad. Olivia should have a kid earlier on in the series, it doesn't make sense for her to have one now .
She's boy emotionally ready for that after going through hell with what Lewis did to her.
Plus she's seems very lonely being with Cassidy he's not right for her
yea that makes sense, but I don't know how old they made her on the show but in real life she's 50 and that's too old to have kids. But we will see what happens next week..
On wikipedia it says she's 46. It's around the limit but it would be great for her character right now. And what's the utility to show us all that if it's negative at that age ? We'll see next week.
In wikipedia it's said she's 46 (Benson). She's around the limit, but that would be great, she deserves a family now, and she would be great as a mother. What's the utility to show us that if it's negative ? We'll see next week
I sure hope they are. A Bensidy kid would be ridiculos IMO. Sure we have seen over the years that Liv likes kids & perhaps wants some of her own, but it didn't happen and even though you can get pregnant at 50 (Laura Linney!!) it would only make sense if she had a stabile relationship - sorry but Bensidy is on the verge of breaking up, everything hints that way - and c'mon SVU is Benson's baby. She doesn't need a baby baby to fulfill her life or whatever. The only reason for a baby would be to give Mariska/Liv less screentime in future seasons (I'm optimistic when it comes to this, thus the seasons with the extra s) and I'm sure fans don't want that to happen so I'm voting NO BABY ;)
Are you kidding it's not a great time for her to have a kid, it's too late in the series. They should had Olivia have a kid when Mariska was pregnant during season 7/8. It would ruin the show if Olivia got pregnant. I'm sure she end up having a negative result on the test.
NO!! The show feels too much like a soap opera. No thanks, the writers need to quit ready fanfiction. I hope it's negative, Olivia is not ready emotionally to handle a kid. She still recovering from her assult and her new position both are stressing her out. Plus she's with someone who is never home and would just leave her.
I agree, I cannot see Cassidy being a dad. He just leave Liv, second Mariska/ Olivia are the heart of the show. She's already has less screentime, she shoots four of our the five days in order to be with her kids. Less Olivia would be worse.
I doubt it, I love how people assume it will happen.. She's too stressed out, she just thought she was an it turned out it be not true and she freaks out that's all.. The promos are so misleading
I disagree, and no they do not love each other too much. Olivia is very lonely around him, he's cold to her. He's not father material at all. He'd walk out and all we'd be hearing is Olivia yelling at him over the phone for child support. Cassidy is never home, plan and simple. When he is, Olivia is annoyed with him
ppl here are making such a drama about Benson having or not a kid. You all have to calm down and wait the episode. ANd just for the note, medicine today is able to make 46 women get pregnant and have babies. To the show I'd rather see her adopting instead of having her own kid (if they decide that Benson will have a kid). And I dont have a problem with that.
Well, then she'll never have a family, and she'll be sad and alone all her life... It's not fanfiction, it's giving her a real life, and a scenario to move on in a personal plan. And I don't think they'll let Cassidy's character go. It's not real life, the actors have a good chemistry and he said he didn't want to exit the show anymore. I just think it's a logical step, her personal life was too boring. But maybe it will turn out negative don't worry.
I'm not making a big deal over it, my problem is that it would ruin the show.. Adopting I've always picture Olivia doing that, she should adopt a child that's either 5-6 years old, I don't think she can handle caring for a newborn. We'll see she might be better off not having kids, especially after everything.
I just thought of something what if it's menopause, and Olivia mistaken thought it was pregnancy. She's around the age... Getting back to the case it looks very interesting.
Well this is a forum so we are allowed to discuss what we want. And all opinions are allowed even if you don't necessarily agree with them. Discussing episodes with the fandom makes the whole experience for me more interesting so pls let me have my drama.
You are allowed to your opinion and you sure aren't the only Bensidy shipper out there. I just don't see any chemistry between them. I like Cassidy though so it's really a bummer. I think Calvin should have stayed on the show, with Olivia that is. That would have work. A baby now would so not work. All IMO of course. Feel free to contradict.
What if this just a dream of her walking into the pharmacy to buy the test. We've seen her daydream about kissing her therapist before Lewis showed up in her dream. This could be another one of her dreams or nightmares.
Together they were not together, at all. They slept together once, Cassidy was acting like a player he got into Olivia's pants, but she wasn't interested in him at all.
I don't think that NBC would tease with a dream for SVU, though. The network takes it kind of seriously. It being a drama, I don't see them teasing with a pregnancy test just to show she's going through menopause either. I could see the test being negative, but only if it's a plot point in re-evaluating her life about if she does/doesn't want a kid, rather than just for shock value.
I could see it being positive too, but I would imagine that it would be a very rocky road for her. Healthy Whoops! babies definitely happen to 46 year old women (assuming Wikipedia is right about her age), but the probability of smooth sailing is low.
I recently rewatched the first season. I didn't see him as a player at all. First off, he was candid with Munch about the erectile dysfunction he had been suffering since joining SVU (pre-Olivia relationship), which is pretty un-player-like. When they did get together, he was the one who wanted a relationship whereas she did not (and it was heavily implied in his last season 1 episode that they continued to sleep together, and he wasn't handling it well at all, in terms of still wanting more).
I definitely see that they're having problems, but they're not insurmountable. I like that there's kind of a "real" vibe about the demands of a relationship in two people who have been single for so long and are so dedicated to their careers.
I would also imagine that there's a pretty limited shelf-life of the ability for Cassidy to work undercover for IAB. He'll eventually be too recognizable, so in the future, he'd probably be around a lot more (off-screen, of course. I don't see SVU adding a loved one who is not on the squad or team consultant as a series regular).
I don't get why people say there's no chemistry between Benson and Cassidy. I loved her with David Hayden, but I like this too. Of course when they're in professional situations they're not all lovey-dovey, but they seem to be in social situations, or when alone (when she's not having a PTSD moment). The Munch retirement party, the dinner party, and just unpacking their new apartment- those were all really nice moments where they seemed really happy together. Enough that they'll live happily ever after? That I'm not sure of, but I definitely don't get the no chemistry argument.
Adoption would actually be a pretty unrealistic story line- even more so than a 46 year old woman getting pregnant (and I'm a health care provider in the NYC child welfare system, so I have some realistic knowledge on this). Aside from that Olivia was already turned down as a single-parent adopter, her current romantic partner was brought up on rape charges. Cassidy wasn't kidding when he said "once accused, always under suspicion." Child welfare agencies are not known for high risk tolerance when it comes to potential foster/adoptive parents. Doesn't matter that the charges were dropped and he was cleared. He would NEVER be approved- so the only way to make that happen would be for Cassidy to move out- which leave Olivia right back in the same place that she started as a poor candidate because of her work responsibilities and limited support network.
If she wants a kid, she either has to leave her current position or birth it herself (or possibly use a surrogate). In either case, she'd probably have to leave the position anyway, unless it turns out that her baby daddy has an awesome support network. Maybe Cassidy has a whole bunch of brothers and sisters who want to take care of a kid for them.
You know you are the first person to write a logical responds to this preview!! If you also read the press releases to this episode on all the websites, IMDB, etc. they all stay there is an personal issue that's coming up that will stand in Benson's future.
You dont kno how much they love each other? They dont get enough screen time to kno that. And u also dont know that hes not father material or he would walk out. Alot of ppl change there act when they know they're having a child, hes not the young cassidy like he was in s1. Yes he not home much cause of undercover work. im sure knowing that youre gonna have a child would change my guess is that he would stop doing undercover work.., Im not saying i want olivia to have a child because it doesnt really seem like thw time a show where they would get the commanding officer to have a child as soon as she gets the job? but if so it something different..
I love how everyone is being so critical of the fact Liv might be pregnant! Seriously? I don't see how it would be the end of the world, it's a show. If you don't like it, then don't watch it. Simple as that. We're all entitled to our opinions. I would personally just like to see Liv happy, either it be she's in a relationship with Cassidy or she's gonna have a baby. I mean, doesn't she deserve happiness? I'm sure the writers know her well enough to know what will make her happy.
Never having a family doesn't make one sad or feeling alone. Olivia looks lonelier especially around Cassidy. They do not have any chemistry, she's only with b/c she doesn't want to be alone. Many people don't have kids and are happy, you don't need to have kids in order to be happy. To be Olivia and Cassidy are just roommates, they treat each other that way. It's not love at all, he's never around and Olivia is still miserable. Many people live with their friends and they are happy, their jobs fulfill their lives. SVU fulfills Olivia's life, having a family would be not a good thing at this point.. Given everything she's going through, there are a lot busy single people in the real world that live with their friends that work but don't have kids and are happy. Cassidy is a boring character never brings that certain spark that Olivia had with David. Her eyes sparkled with love with him, not with Cassidy. I'm not a Bensidy fan at all, I dislike Cassidy... Olivia can do better than him..
I like to know why someone put the thumbs down, just out of curiousity. I don't why people like Bensidy, No chemistry no actually love between them. They are just roommates, he's never around.. I'm not stopping people from shipping them, they ship whomever they want. I think Cassidy would be better off with Amanda.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I really hope that the test comes back negetive for Olivia. Cassidy will leave her he's the type to be a dad. Olivia should have a kid earlier on in the series, it doesn't make sense for her to have one now .

they'er yanking our chain or now that she's captain maybe she'll be behind a desk more and may actually have a kid, I dunno
ReplyDeleteThey have been together for almost three years either ways he's not going to leave her, they love each other way to much!
ReplyDeleteyea that makes sense, but I don't know how old they made her on the show but in real life she's 50 and that's too old to have kids. But we will see what happens next week..

For once I agree with you. No Bensidy baby please. SVU is Benson's baby, the only one she needs.
