SALLY | She’s vibrant, messy and unpredictable — a “female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea of where she’s going in life.” She’s thinking of calling it quits with her husband of a year, Gavin. She’ll lean on her circle of friends for advice and support through the inevitable divorce. That circle includes…
JULIET | Sally’s sexy, flamboyant, energetic, party-girl BFF. She runs a successful fashion blog. She’s delighted to learn Sally is ending things with the terminally boring Gavin.
DANNY | Sally’s older gay brother, a Type A, overachieving lawyer whom she shares little in common with. They nonetheless share a tight bond, although Sally’s decision to move in with Danny after her split with Gavin promises to test that bond.
TODD | Danny’s warm, outgoing husband and one of Sally’s closest friends from college. Unlike Danny, Todd welcomes Sally into their home.
FRANK | The head of IT for Juliet’s fashion blog. He’s a hot nerd. He has genuine feelings for Sally, but it’s a one-sided flirtation. At least for the moment.
NARRATOR | It’s Sally from the future. She’s reliving the events of her past to her kids.

Ooh, I love that there's a gay couple in this. And it surprisingly sounds interesting. Can't wait for casting news!
ReplyDeleteI don't really like this character...Except for Juliet. She could be fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I love HIMYM, and these characters sound interesting enough, but HIMYM was already dragged out for way too long. I don't think I can invest in a whole new set of characters just to get the same type of humor and wait for the same mystery to be solved. Let HIMYM die in peace.
ReplyDeleteJuliet sounds like a woo girl
ReplyDeleteSo sally is ted,todd is marshall,danny's lily,juliet is barney,frank is robin...got it
ReplyDeleteSo : Danny and Todd = Marshall and Lily.
ReplyDeleteJuliet = Barney
Frank = Robin
Just add in Frank and Sally sleeping together on and off and it's the exact same show.
ReplyDeleteThis has That 80's Show written all over it.
ReplyDeleteYes and in the next season, Frank and Juliet sleeping together.
ReplyDeleteI feel like i have already watched this show for 8 and a half years
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more, HIMYM is at the end of it's life - why can't they just let it be?
ReplyDeleteYawn. Seriously let the show end with dignity because season 9 is already a little boring and you expect people to spend another 9 years watching the same story!
ReplyDeletewell i didnt watch HIMYM so i will give a try to this
ReplyDeleteI can just already see the future of the show. Juliet will have a catchphrase, something like "Tonight will be fab wait for it ulous." The rest of the show just looks like a remake with a small amount of Modern Family to change things up.
ReplyDeleteI guess this sounds interesting and it could work. But it needs to have a structure and a end to it. The death of HIMYM was that it was just dragged out way too long without any real development. The location is still New York, right?
ReplyDeleteThe names of each character seem very dated to me...
ReplyDeleteBases on this, ah... No, to watching it. Will I hear its renewed to season 2
ReplyDeleteNext the actor and Actress Choices will decide more on my decision.
but before this even start, as a Spin Off hater, I still didn't want this to happen.
Danny and Todd sound almost like carbon copies of Modern Family's Cam and Mitchell, even down the the lawyer and brother positions.
ReplyDeleteI'll give the show at least an episode, but I'm pretty disappointed by these descriptions.
Okay, I was thinking they could add siblings or a gay character and they did.
ReplyDeleteSo the twist CB/CT were talking about that Sally is already married? I was expecting something else, TBH, like we see the Dad's journey too.
And these characters are similar to ones from HIMYM.
Danny and Frank = Marshall and Lily.
Juliet = Barney
So, Frank has feeling for Sally. Sally will find out about them, they both will date for a while and break up. Then Juliet will realize that she has feelings for Frank and eventually they will end up together.
And I really hope they don't do gay stereotypes.
I think it seems too similar to the original show, although I'm sure that'll all depend on the actors they cast.
ReplyDeleteOMG no !
