I would rather have a new series about gang on network tv than another normal procedrual, fantasy-show trying to bang in on Game of Thrones or Once Upon A Time, or another useless medical drama.
I get your point, but I have worked with youngsters who have grown up in gang dominated areas and lost friends and family members and it can be a very hurtful subject, so I think in those cases it is not absurd at all to be bothered by gang related shows.
Like I said, to each his own and I have no problems at all with the show existing. I just stated that I have no interest in watching a show about gangs, the same way you have no interest in watching another procedural or another fantasy show.
For me, it's jut a topic I would rather not spend too much time thinking about. Even shows that I love like Person of Interest, I dislike when they have episodes focused on the mafia/gangs side of things, just not for me.
the same way families that lost someone in a terrorist attack could be bothered by 24 and the countless ammount of shows with the same or a similar subject. Art shouldn't be limited to what people percieve as 'right' to do is all I'm saying
that being said I know what you mean, I don't claim to have much insight into gang related stuff (mostly because I try not to think of it) but I've met people that have and what they told me kinda scared me sh*tless, it's like a whole different world right next to ours (of course I've had the classic 'oh sh*t, dude wears gang colors, just play it cool' situation before but nothing more)
I really appreciate the work you're doing, glad there're people out there trying to make this world a nicer place as a whole :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Looking forward to this, but I am hoping it's more than just shooting everybody!
ReplyDeleteFeel like watching it for Terry O'Quinn!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Shantel VanSanten in the show too? Wish she was in the promo.
I usually like to support Lost alumnis but gangs are just a big no to me
ReplyDeleteLA is a gang haven, and gangs are a very real thing. There're shows about taking down terrorists, drug cartells why not gangs ?
ReplyDeleteI feel like a show about gangs was long overdue
Oh sure I am not saying it's a bad idea that the show exists, I just have no interest at all in watching.
ReplyDeleteoh, okay. I just know some people that got offended at the idea of a show about gangs (due to personal reasons) wich to me is absurd

ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun summer show. I can't wait to see Rza in this.
ReplyDeleteWell, this could work.
ReplyDeleteps.: the very shaky first scenes made me nauseous...
