The pay cable network has opted not to order a second season of Family Tree. Also not going to second season is Hello Ladies, which will wrap the story of Stuart Pritchard (Stephen Merchant) and his group of friends with a special, similar to the way HBO ended Ricky Gervais’ Life’s Too Short. There is no final decision on medical comedy Getting On but it is expected to get a second season renewal pending the sorting out of budget issues.

I'm not too surprised, their ratings were low even for HBO. I wanted to like Family Tree as I love some of Christopher Guest films but it really didn't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteI watched both. I think Hello Ladies deserved second season buuuuuuut, in a dream world. Ratings were bad and you know HBO, they show no mercy no matter what..
ReplyDeleteoh no :(
ReplyDeleteFuck them (it's HBO, I can say that). Hello Ladies became a really great series and I was looking forward to another season. I guess it's better than nothing that it gets a special to wrap things up, UK style.
ReplyDeleteI don't care about Family Tree though. It was an excruciating show, a pain to watch (the first 4 eps at least), but I wouldn't mind seeing Nina Conti in something else, she was the only good thing in that.
And does anyone know anyone who has ever had the slightest envy to watch the hit comedy series Getting On? And it's getting renewed? Come on!
I tried them both but can't say I liked either of them.
