Looking forward to Abed and Hickey interacting. Annoyed by the Olympics break though, thank god cable channels are taking any breaks or I would have nothing to watch in February.
ReplyDeleteExcellent, clearing the path for Jeff/Annie. Abed + Hickey = bound to be hilarious.
ReplyDeleteNice! I can't wait for all the crazy things Duncan would do. Also Jeff really doesn't care about who Britta mayor date.
ReplyDeleteJeff/Britta is long over and done with. They are like bickering siblings now. Duncan/Britta is something that has been hinted at since season 1, although one-sided on Duncans part. Exploring it is not a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteThey don't need the path to be cleared. Jeff/Annie just need an episode where they can finally get over the writer's hangups, decide to become a couple, then act like they always do, with the occasional note that they are together now. Half the time they act like they are married already.
ReplyDeleteHickey is slowly working his way through the study group. Jeff in 502, Britta in 505, Annie in 506, now Abed. All that is left is Shirley.
ReplyDeleteDuncan is a gross, disgusting character. I'm beyond tired of them writing her like an idiot and I thought they had stopped. Unfortunately that is not the case.
ReplyDeleteI'm not suggesting that they should actually end up together, but Duncan's interest in Britta and her response to it could give some interesting story potential.
ReplyDeleteBritta in this episode seemed quite in character, just her normal competitive bickering was directed at Abed rather than Jeff like usual.
Abed may have been hurt somewhat, but given the way he acted in Polygraphy, I'm not going to say he didn't deserve it for once. His complaint about having to tiptoe around people who don't want spoilers is actually a rather good reflection of how people tend to treat him, tiptoeing around Abed so they don't set him off.
I don't think she has been out of character this season at all. If they even slightly entertain the idea of her and Duncan though I'll be beyond done praising Community for its characters. It may still be one of the smarter comedies on the air but it seems to toss character development out the window for laughs.
ReplyDeleteMy previous comment was more about Britta's behavior towards men since S3. Her behavior with Blade was supposed to be an isolated thing and was even part of Jeff's story in that episode. Then they brought it back when she was interested in Troy(giving him a lock of her hair and being an all around moron).
She wasn't like that with Vaughn and she wasn't like that with Jeff. It's not who she is and I hope they aren't going back to that.
It also seems strange to me that Jeff would try to help Duncan get a date with her. I disagree that they're like siblings but he does care about her and he knows firsthand how much of a scumbag Ian Duncan is.
This season doesn't need a Shirley episode. Anyone else feels like she's pointless to the show now that Pierce is gone?
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is, after all this setup, Jonathan Banks may not be involved in Season 6, because he has signed as a series regular on Better Call Saul.
ReplyDeleteIsn't exactly the reason we need a Shirley episode? For her to establish herself and her place in the group's new dynamics?
ReplyDeleteHe could always drop down from regular to recurring, like Duncan was the first few seasons.
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited for this one! Duncan is hilarious, I can only imagine this awkward date will be awesome. And I can't wait to see Abed and Hickey interact.
ReplyDeleteAfter a couple concept episodes this season, we seem to be going back to some normal S1 style eps, which is fun, I like when the show mixes it up.
Side note: I notice and am excited that this marks the first episode this season taking place at least partly off campus!
plus, if there will be a season 6, it will be most likely just 13 episode run, which means not that much time will be required for him to appear..
ReplyDeleteNo, I like Jeff/Britta! No to Britta/Duncan.
