Canal+ - HBO developing a remake of porn comedy Hard

Canal PlusThere are remakes already in development in Italy and Spain, and now the US is getting in on it too :
The Big C alum Jenny Bicks has signed on to adapt the French comedy Hard for HBO and Fox 21.
Stephen McPherson is shepherding the comedy with Bicks. He optioned the rights to the Canal Plus series from producer Gilles Galud.
Dark comedy revolves around a Brentwood housewife who inherits her husband's failing porn company. She's challenged to manage a business and her dueling lives, which she shares with her coffee-clatch friends.
Hard is in the early stage of development at HBO.
Jenny Bicks, who was the showrunner of The Big C and a key scribe on Sex and the City, previously worked with McPherson during his tenure at ABC when she spearheaded Men in Trees. Bicks fell for the Hard concept when McPherson pitched it to her over breakfast at Soho House.
The original Hard starred Natacha Lindinger in the lead role. The series made a splash when it bowed in 2008; a follow-up season ran in 2011. McPherson had no trouble checking out the original segs. He spent his spent his elementary and high school years in France.

Meanwhile, a 12-episode third season of Hard is still in development, probably for the 2014/2015 season.
