Bones: Episode 9.13 - Big in The Philippines - Review

David Boreanaz directed another amazing episode! The two stories, between Wendell and the country singer played out nicely. Colin's music illustrated Wendell's emotional pain and desire to live.

Colin was a straggling artist, who gave up everything for his music; including love, money, and fame. Just as Colin learns about his fame in the Philippines, he decides to take a chance to ask out the woman he has always loved…

Here we have two young men, where all they want is to live a full life. Yet sadly Colin's life was taking away from a jealous bartender and Wendell's life is being put on hold by bone cancer.

I have to say the most powerful scene had to be when Wendell told Booth he made a choice to   travel the world and live out his life. Booth told him to fight and not give up. He told Wendell there is a whole life out there waiting for him, a wife, kids and that he will live to be 100. I really don't think anyone watching that  moment had a dry eye! Very Powerful scene!!

Later when Wendell showed up at Brennan and Booth's house telling them he wants to fight the cancer.  Wendell said he wants to be remember by someone who fought with everything he had...  and he will, he will never die.

I loved this episode, the writers, actors and of course David, all did an amazing job! Congrats!!

  3. It certainly was an episode to tug on your heartstrings! David is great at directing this show. He elicits wonderful performances from his cast, and he still manages to give his all to his role as well. That is a true balancing act. Kudos to you David!
