Duh, it's Beverly from The Goldbergs. If that is not doting, I don't know what is... My fav episode was when she manipulated Adam's fear just to get some hugs. I hope some people what I'm talking about here.
Elizabeth Burke immediately came to mind when I saw the poll topic. She and Peter are the ultimate TV married couple because they love and respect each other instead of spend the whole time making jokes at each other's expense, nitpicking and yelling about each other's faults every time they see each other, or sleeping around. They both complement and compliment each other and while things aren't always easy, they have each other's backs.
I also pick Other because way back in the day Jennifer and Jonathan Hart (Hart to Hart) were an amazing couple. Claire Huxtable (Cosby Show) and Elysa Keaton (Family Ties) were pretty awesome too. Basically I only like couples that spend more time lifting eahc other up than tearing each other down.
Beverly takes devotion to another level that is for sure. I love how it always ends with some heartwarming scene after all the crazy. It takes the best of an 80's sitcom but doesn't feel dated. Best new comedy of them all.
Ohhh, Dahne, I'm glad there's someone who understands what I'm talking about. Beverly is definitely one of the best mother characters I have ever seen on TV. Like she's crazy but not in annoying level.
"Crazy but not annoying" is a great way to describe most of the Goldbergs. The only one that sometimes really irks me is Barry and even he has gotten a lot better as the season progresses. Each character has a distinct personality and an abundance of quirks but they have a lot of heart as well. The fact that the love each other is front and center in every episode, no matter what they say and do. I mean where else could you frame your mom for shoplifting, have absolute consequences, and yet still end with a great mother-daughter moment.
Yes, I would vote Barry to be the craziest among all and I think Adam would be the most "normal" among the Goldbergs. I also love Pops because he's soooo supportive and caring and just affectionate towards his grandchildren. Now I'm waiting a pairing scene between Pops and Erica since we still haven't seen that yet.
The last episode was awesome, wasn't it? It was a great mother-daughter scene, as great as when Adam and Beverly were negotiating a deal about how many hugs Adam should give per week. It was really cute, both of them.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I'd say Gaby, Lynette, Snow and Jackie from Trophy Wife (haha)
ReplyDeleteIt's Monica Geller not Gellar...

Ha! Jackie went all creepy stalker in her devotion. So funny and yet a little terrifying.
