The SpoilerTV 2013 Episode Competition - Nominations now closed

Dec 14, 2013

UPDATE: The nominations are now closed. Check back Monday for the first round of matches!

Every episode of television is special. Each one contains elements that make it stand out from the crowd. And now, SpoilerTV is giving you the opportunity to select your favourite episodes of TV from 2013, and battle against others to don the crown of Favourite Episode of 2013.

Any episode that aired from 1st January 2013 to 14th December 2013 (submission closing date) can be submitted. Episodes that did not air in this period will not be included.

The top 64 episodes will enter the competition. However, if a particular show has more than two episodes in that top 64, only the most voted two episodes will make it into the competition - thus giving other shows a better chance.

Only 1 Submission per person. If you try to submit multiple times ALL your submissions will be removed.

You have until Saturday 14th December to enter your submissions.

The competition will begin on Monday 16th December. Check back then for the first round of matches!

Enter your submissions, spread the word and tell us what you voted for in the comments!

  1. I'm going to have to think about this first, long and hard! I'm terrible at remembering titles of episodes.

I know Fringe and Game Of Thrones will be on my list....off to wiki i go!

    What?

    ReplyDelete
  3. What's the problem?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I need to think about it too! Fringe, Game of Thrones, POI, The Newsroom, Dexter, Orphan Black, and even more recant episodes of Revolution all come to mind...How in the heck am I going to choose LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hey Bradley, for the name submission do you want our actual names or our screen names??

    ReplyDelete
  6. Mad Men, In Care Of.
    Breaking Bad, Ozymandias.
American Horror Story: Asylum, The Name Game

    ReplyDelete
  7. You have only three episodes of Fringe to choose from, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Screen name preferably.

    ReplyDelete
  9. My three were:

Breaking Bad - Ozymandias (Which really deserves to win overall IMO)
Happy Endings - Fowl Play/Date (A hilarious episode of the sadly cancelled show that I am still not over)
The Walking Dead - Clear (A rare gem in a show which so often gets it wrong when it comes to quieter, less zombie-actiony episodes)

    ReplyDelete
  10. That's true LOL! I would think the finale is probably going to make the list!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I am sad that I can't choose episode that aired before Jan 2013 :(

    ReplyDelete
  12. Ah. We're trying to find what people think is the best episode of 2013. Not any other years. Sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Either Supernatural or Castle is going to win.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'll remember to think about my choices and submit them later.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Justified > Decoy
    Burn Notice > Reckoning

    Breaking Bad > Felina

    ReplyDelete
  16. I decided on

Game Of thrones - Rains of Castamere
Person Of interest - The Crossing
The walking Dead - Too Far Gone

    ReplyDelete
  17. LoL,your right, haha! I'm thinking all of S5 and even at that we only had 13 episodes!

    ReplyDelete
  18. My choices:
    Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
The Walking Dead - Too Far Gone
Game of Thrones - The Rains of Castamere

All three were ridiculously good, in their own way.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yep,same here! We also have some good Sleepy Hollow and The Blacklist...gee,so many to choose from! Its going to be impossible to choose,ha!

    ReplyDelete
  20. POI FTW:

Zero Day, God Mode and The Devil's Share :D

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh jeeze ya The blacklist too! I'll never decide!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I went with
    Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
Spartacus: War of the Damned - Victory
    The Killing - Six Minutes

Those are the ones that immediately sprang to my mind when seeing this :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mine were:

    Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
    Supernatural - Goodbye Strangers
    Teen Wolf - Motel California

    Good luck to all episodes!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Think we need to make it the Top Ten of 2013,lol...and have different categories! :p

    ReplyDelete
  25. I picked
Game of Thrones 3x09 "The Rains of Castamere"

The Walking Dead 4x08 "Too Far Gone"

#3 was either going to be Scandal 3x09 "YOLO" or Sons of Anarchy 6x11 "Aon Rud Persanta", but I chose SOA.

I was going to submit Breaking Bad 5x15 "Ozymandias" but so many people are probably submitting that, I didn't choose it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. In no particular order:
Breaking Bad - Ozymandias (I really shouldn't have to explain why.)
Sleepy Hollow - Pilot (One of the best pilots in recent years.)
Modern Family - The Late Show (One ofthe show's best episode. Why this was the 101st and not the 100th episode is beyond me.)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I picked:

    Teen Wolf - Motel California
Game of Thrones - The Rains of Castamere
    Supernatural - Holy Terror

    ReplyDelete
  28. Indeed. And not necessarily because they are so good, but because those shows have a huge fanbase here that other shows don't. Hate to say it, but this is a not by far a fair or true competition. The more fans a show has here on STV, the bigger chance it has to win, regardless of whether the rules stick to only two episodes from one show or not. That's the sad part of competitions here on STV.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It was really hard... but i chose my three:

Game of Thrones - "Rains of Castamere" - so sad episode, i am still in shock...
The Fosters - "I Do" - Wedding, music, end .. everything, just perfect, i really loved this episode, and that is why it got in my TOP 3. :) Now waiting for January and new episodes!
Dexter - "Rememer the Monsters?" - last episode of Dexter was nice, i am sad that Deb died, and that scene on the sea.... heartbreaking, really gonna miss this show. :(

    ReplyDelete
  30. Question: Do we have to write the number of the episode and the title, or simply the title?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
Person of Interest - The Crossing and The Devil's Share

    ReplyDelete
  32. Egads. This makes me want to apologize to Dahne for whining about only being able to pick one favorite scene. :-D I'm not sure I *remember* all the great episodes I've seen during the year let alone what were my favorites. Hmm. Thinking and research here I come. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  33. All phenomenal episodes of phenomenal shows.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Just the title should be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not easy is it? I know I'd struggle..

    ReplyDelete
  36. GOT- And now his watch has ended (because everyone will submit rains of cashmere)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Love your choices, I forgot about Spartacus, one of the best series finale I've ever seen.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The Mentalist-Red John

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh wow, this is way harder than I thought! :(
So can we pick 3 episodes of the same show? Because "The Good Wife" has been better than ever this year, with so many outstanding episodes: "Je Ne Sais What?", "Red Team, Blue Team", "Death of a Client", "What's in the Box?", "Outside the Bubble", "Hitting the Fan", "The Decision Tree" are all classics! :) It's impossible to pick one...
I also loved Once Upon A Time's "The Cricket Game", "The Miller's Daughter", "Welcome To Storybrooke", "The Evil Queen" and "Save Henry". They had quite an emotional impact thanks to the brilliant acting. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yep, you can have three from the same show.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Alright made some decisions:

    Boardwalk Empire: Farewell Daddy Blues
    Dexter: Remember the Monsters
    Fringe: The Boy Must Live

Once Upon A Time: The Millers Daughter, Tiny, Think Lovely Thoughts
OUAT in Wonderland: The Serpent, Heart of Stone
    Almost Human: The Pilot

    ReplyDelete
  42. Eh, most competitions end up being popularity competitions in less it's something that can be proven. Example: Someone crossing the finish line in a race first.

Even the Golden Globes can be a popularity contest (in the professional/critic world).

    ReplyDelete
  43. Breaking Bad - Felina
    Walking dead - Indifference
Good wife - Hitting the fan

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have to whittle this list down to 3 -

    Red John (The Mentalist)

    An Enemy of Fate (Fringe)
    Six Minutes (The Killing)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Cheers! I actually went for it in my submitted top 3. Such a powerful, perfect piece of TV, and it tried to say something about an issue I feel strongly about.

    ReplyDelete
  51. It was hard leaving some out, so my honourable mentions go to:

    Decoy (Justified)
Prisoner's Dilemma, The Crossing & Devil's Share (POI)

  53. I will wait a little to see the last episodes of 2013 but for now I think "Save Henry" from OUAT, "hitting the fan" from the good wife and le last episode of Arrow :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. 1. The Good Wife: Hitting the Fan
    2. 30 Rock: Hogcock!/Last Lunch
    3. The Office: Finale

    ReplyDelete
  55. The Mentalist: Red John
    Leverage: The Long Goodbye Job

    and Burn Notice: Reckoning

    ReplyDelete
  56. I had 3 episodes in mind immediately:
"Hitting the Fan" - The Good Wife
    "Ozymandias" - Breaking Bad
"The Rains of Castamere" - Game of Thrones

All 3 were fantastic game-changing episodes. More specifically, The Good Wife and Breaking Bad's episodes were the payoff of a 5-year build-up that left me completely speechless in totally different ways, while Game of Thrones brought its "red wedding" into play for one of the most lauded chapters of GRRM's saga... There was a LOT of fantastic content this year in television (that may or may not vie for GoT's spot in my vote) so I had to make a gut decision.

Honorable Mentions: Mad Men, Hannibal, Person of Interest, and House of Cards all had strong seasons, but I won't delve into specific episodes for this comment.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh, that Hannibal episode was a good one!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Way too difficult..went with
The Newsroom : Election Night Part 2
Game of Thrones: The Rains of Castamere
    Orphan Black: Pilot (Natural Selection)

    Have to mention:
Game of Thrones: And Now His Watch Is Ended
    Scandal: YOLO
    Castle: Still & Disciple
    Person of Interest: The Crossing
    Modern Family: The Late Show
The Big Bang Theory: The Scavenger Vortex & The Closet Reconfiguration
    Revenge: The Truth (1 & 2)
    Elementary: The Woman
The Blacklist: Anslo Garrick Part 1

    OUAT: The Millers Daughter

    ReplyDelete
  67. This was hard but went from 3 eps from my 3 favourite shows this year

01 "Ozymandias" - Breaking Bad - Everything in the prior 5 seasons finally explodes in such a gutwrenching way, never felt so tense watching an episode of TV. Brilliant performances, outstanding writing and it looked beautiful as well.

02 "Decoy" - Justified - How to make a fun action movie for the small screen in 42 minutes. Justified is such an entertaining show and a joy to watch.

03 "Rains of Castamere" - Game of Thrones - As a reader of the books I knew it was coming but that didn't lessen the impact, in fact in many ways it made everything leading up to the brutal murders just a little too hard to watch. And that music, oh that music.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Rains of Castamere, Ozymandias and Hitting the Fan. But is was a close call for the third place, and I think AHS is also very deserving.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
Spartacus: War of The Damned - Victory
    Les Revenants - Victor

    ReplyDelete
  70. it was very difficult but i finally chose in no particular order

    1) The Blacklist-Anslo garrick Part 1.
    2) The Originals-The River in Reverse
    3) POI- The Crossing

    ReplyDelete
  71. Thanks for doing this, Adam.

I picked episodes that truly stood out as very important and were near absolute perfection.

    Tough choices :

    Breaking Bad - Ozymandias (5.14 - 15th September 2013).

    The Good Wife - Hitting the Fan (5.05 - 27th October 2013).
    The Office - Finale (9.23/9.24 - 16th May 2013).

    ReplyDelete
  72. Ahem.. I'm not Adam.

    ReplyDelete
  73. By Adam I meant Bradley of course, that was implied !

(sorry Bradley, and thanks for organizing this)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ha! In fairness, Adam does usually run competitions. I can forgive the mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  75. My choices:
    Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
Fringe - An Enemy of Fate
Person of Interest - The Crossing

It was practically impossible to choose only 3 episodes in a year with so many amazing episodes/shows.. To be honest my first thought was to choose only Breaking Bad episodes, since every one of them should be considered one of the best of the year, however i decided to just choose my favourite from this year.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Wow, this will take me a while to compile just three!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Ahhh!, This is not going to be easy...

Doctor Who - The Day of The Doctor
    Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
    Spartacus - Victory
    Supernatural - Clip Show
Spartacus - The Dead and The Dying
    Breaking Bad - To'hajiilee
The Walking Dead - Too Far Gone

Supernatural - As Time Goes By
How I Met Your Mother - The Locket/ Coming Back
Supernatural - I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here
    Breaking Bad - Confessions
    Revenge - Truth (Part 1 & 2)
    The Originals - Bloodletting
    Masters of Sex - Catherine
    Doctor Who - Cold War
How I Met Your Mother - The Time Travellers
    True Blood - Life Matters

Game of Thrones - And Now His Watch is Ended

    Teen Wolf - Visionary
    The Blacklist - The Stewmaker

    ReplyDelete
