TVLine has learned exclusively that the Cheers alum/Kirstie costar is set to guest-star on the sophomore ABC comedy, playing Debbie’s mother Janet.
Now living in Boca, Janet is a former wild child and thus was a lousy mother — an unapologetically hard-drinking, pot-smoking groupie. But when Debbie (Jamie Gertz) brings her family to visit, she is shocked (and skeptical) to see that Janet is sober and seemingly turned her life around. Heck, she’s even adopted a 10-year-old boy, with whom she has a great relationship.
