A weekly feature in which we're trying to find most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great scenes that we've seen recently.
AGENTS OF SHIELD, "Repairs", November 26, 2013, Actors: Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker and more
The Scene: May pranks Fitz
Jamie Coudeville: It was a nice ending to an emotional episode. It showed that the old May is still in there.
ALMOST HUMAN, "Are You Receiving?", November 25, 2013, Actors: Karl Urban, Michael Ealy
The Scenes: Dorian sings "Bennie and the Jets" to Kennex & Kennex patches up Dorian
Darth Locke: Dorian serenades Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets" to John Kennex!
A Dahne: Kennex patches up Dorian with a used Q-Tip, nail clippers, and bubblegum - Best part of the scene was Dorian asking if everything was clean, but I really like how their partnership is cementing into a fun buddy cop routine. They did a great job of casting this show.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, "Man or Beast?", November 25, 2013, Actors: Kristin Kreuk, Ted Whittall
The Scene: Cat arrests her father
Virginia Fontana: He might have gotten a few digs in about her relationship with Vincent as she was tossing him in the slammer, but Catherine's biological father is incredibly annoying and obnoxious, and got what was coming to him.
BOARDWALK EMPIRE, "Farewell Daddy Blues", November 24, 2013, Actor: Jack Huston
The Scene: Richard Harrow dies under the boardwalk and goes "home"
Darth Locke: Richard Harrow was definitely a favorite character, but his end was truly a beautiful and tragic one, as both due to a hand injury along with the unearthing of all things Jimmy, made it clear that Richard could no longer go on pretending. Also picked by Sharon Seymour
CASTLE, "The Good, the Bad and the Baby", November 25, 2013, Actors: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, Molly Quinn, The Scenes: Castle, Kate (and Alexis) talk about kids & The diaper change
Klutzy Girl: Castle talks with Beckett and Alexis about future Thanksgivings and says maybe they'll have their own kids in a few years. Alexis then proceeds to ruin it by saying maybe she'll have kids and they'll grow up together. It was hilarious and definitely something I can see happening.
Jamie Coudeville: Castle and Beckett change Benny's diaper. The whole scene was so adorable. Kate definitely became a baby person at the end.
GRIMM, "El Cucuy", November 29, 2013, Actors: Gina Gallego, David Giuntoli and more
The Scene: Vigilante Granny says the team has nothing to hold her on
A Dahne: Best part of the scene was not the actual words but the facial expressions on the three cops. Hank, Nick, and Renard know she did it but she's absolutely right. No one would believe their story. Well played Granny.
HOMELAND, "One Last Time", November 24, 2013, Actors: Damian Lewis, Morgan Saylor
The Scene: Dana meets with Brody at the motel (picked by DarkUFO)
LOST GIRL, "Lovers. Apart.", November 24, 2013
The Scene: Julia is taken by the Jumbee spirit (picked by Nana Lobo)
NIKITA, "Dead or Alive", November 29, 2013, Actor: Aaron Stanford
The Scene: The twist with Birkhoff at the end
Bradley Adams: Amanda says about her asset still being in play, then we see Birkhoff deleting a name potentially associated with The Shop. Completely unexpected twist.
Jamie Coudeville: Birkhoff is a double. My jaw dropped to the floor after this scene. Totally did not see that coming.
PERSON OF INTEREST, "The Devil's Share", November 26, 2013, Actors: Kevin Chapman, Jim Caviezel, Amy Acker and more, The Scenes: Fusco confronts Simmons & Root takes out the Russians & Reese almost kills Quinn
Justyna Kubica: Just like a week ago, I feel like I could pick so many other scenes from the episode, they were all so great. In fact, I almost picked the opening montage with the song "Hurt", because it was beautifully done, emotional and the music worked just perfectly with the images on the screen. But in the end, I decided to go with more of a character driven moment. And again, with Fusco. I was quite sure he's gonna kill Simmons and I can't say I was as much against it as I should, but I'm entirely happy with how things ended between the two. With Fusco arresting Simmons and proudly bringing him back to the police precinct. Now that's what I call a character development AND a man's chance for redemption. Also, I feel like it was a perfect tribute to Carter. The proof how much she has changed the people on her way for the better. She saved Lionel in a big way. Just by being herself, a good person and a great partner. She's already missed. And the other reason why I chose this scene is another stellar work by Kevin Chapman. This show has one of the strongest cast on TV! Kudos!
Bradley Adams: Root with two guns at once taking out the Russians. Her combined with the awesome music and the strobe lighting made this an epic scene. Also picked by DarkUFO & Sharon Seymour
Dominick Grace: Finch tries to talk Reese down from killing Quinn, but Reese pulls the trigger anyway. Or, really, any of half a dozen other scenes in that episode.
SLEEPY HOLLOW, "Sanctuary", November 25, 2013, Actors: Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie
The Scenes: Ichabod decimates Tree Evil & Abbie and Ichabod decide to celebrate Thanksgiving together
Justyna Kubica: This show is growing on me every week. It's crazy, because I never expected to like it as much as I do and it's really great. Definitely one of my favorite new shows this fall! And this episode was a strong one. A haunted house is not something I usually like, but when you mix it with some really interesting flashbacks (A baby!) and amazing character moments, well, then I really do enjoy the entire thing. The story of Ichabod and Katrina is such a tragic one. I feel so incredibly bad for these two. They clearly love each other, but the evil that surrounds them (for centuries now) seems like something that can't be defeated. Last week, Ichabod learned that Death, the Horseman was his old friend, who felt betrayed by the couple and seeks revenge. And now he knows that he had a child, that was hunted by the forces of evil. Poor guy, things are only getting worse it seems. And that's probably why I liked the moment when Ichabod decimated the Tree monster (evil or whatever that was). His pain and fury, the fact that something destroyed his family are killing him. But for one moment he gets to go after one of the monsters and have some sort of revenge. He's completely out of control. But I guess, it's something he desperately needed at this point. Also, Tom Mison shines in the scene. He's absolutely fantastic! Kudos!
A Dahne: Honestly of my top 5 scenes, Sleepy Hollow owns 4 spots this week so it was hard to narrow it down to one. In the end I went with Ichabod going postal over Katrina's twisty labor because Ichabod was completely out of control with pent up rage. It was great to see him finally take out his frustration on the evil that plagued his family.
Klutzy Girl: Abbie and Ichabod make the decision to celebrate Thanksgiving together after their time in the house and finding out about his son.
SUPERNATURAL, "Rock and a Hard Place", November 26, 2013, Actors: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki
The Scene: Dean almost tells Sam about Ezekiel
Klutzy Girl: After Sam believes there's something wrong with him, Dean says he can't let him think that and nearly tells him the truth about Ezekiel. I wish he had been able to tell him, but I still love that moment.
THE BLACKLIST, "Anslo Garrick (No. 16)", November 25, 2013, Actors: James Spader, Diego Klattenhoff, Richie Coster and more, The Scenes: The end scene & Red gives Donald a blood transfusion
Bradley Adams: The end scene where Luli is killed and Dembe's fate hangs in the balance. Incredibly dramatic cliffhanger.
Darth Locke: Trapped, Red must give Donald a blood transfusion, while being taunted by a nemesis Anslo Garrick.
THE MENTALIST, "Red John", November 24, 2013, Actors: Simon Baker, Xander Berkley
The Scenes: Patrick confronts RJ in the church & Jane kills Red John
Justyna Kubica: The moment when Patrick kills Red John is clearly the more obvious choice, especially considering how amazing Simon Baker was in this scene, but I wanted to include the confrontation in the church too, so here's my pick. Both actors worked so well together. Xander Berkley plays some of the greatest villains, he's really good at it and that's why I'm really okay with Red John being the Sheriff. As for the characters... I have to say I'm glad with Patrick's choice not to give RJ the satisfaction of talking about his old successes. As a viewer, I would love to know more of his secrets, but it's clear to me that Jane had no interest in that. Instead, he proved how clever he is by telling what he has figured out on his own. And I have to say: "You're an evil, sexually perverted sociopath with pathetic delusions of grandeur. The rest is just details." was just so well said. And I kinda cheered when the pigeon scared RJ. It was such a Jane thing to do. A magic trick. I have no idea how he managed to hide it, but it proved how he knew who he's going against. Also it's good to see that RJ was just a human, not someone extraordinary, just a smart guy, but with his phobia and weaknesses like everyone else. Also happy that the informations Patrick has found saved his life in the end. It gave the results of his search more meaning. And finally, I'm glad we ended RJ chapter. Can't wait to see what's next for everyone.
Virginia Fontana: Jane kills Red John. What an incredible performance from Simon Baker - it was certainly Emmy worthy. I love that Jane refused to give Red John the ego gratification of monologuing about his wicked games and how he pulled off a feat like knowing Jane's list of suspects. This final showdown showed the full range of emotions that Jane went through in shaky, horrifying, satisfying, perfect clarity.
THE ORIGINALS, "The River in Reverse", November 26, 2013, Actors: Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin
The Scene: Elijah warns Hayley not to become romantically involved with him
Virginia Fontana: Elijah tells Hayley not to become romantically involved with him because it would endanger her. Their chemistry is fantastic, and this scene showed the depth of that as well as his concern for her. It also highlighted the suffocating lives led by Elijah and Rebekah, where their chances at happiness are constantly thwarted by Klaus. A frustrating, illuminating, romantic scene.
THE WALKING DEAD, "Dead Weight", November 24, 2013, Actors: David Morrissey, Jose Pablo Cantillo
The Scene: The Governor kills Martinez (picked by DarkUFO and Sharon Seymour)
AGENTS OF SHIELD, "Repairs", November 26, 2013, Actors: Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker and more
The Scene: May pranks Fitz
Jamie Coudeville: It was a nice ending to an emotional episode. It showed that the old May is still in there.

Main Account - All Shows
Castle, The blacklist and Nikita ! Kind of disappointed about the end (or not let's see what's coming next) of Red John's case.
ReplyDeleteHonorable mentions:
ReplyDeletePerson Of Interest - The opening montage
Agents of SHIELD - Coulson and Skye talk about May
The Blacklist - The cliffhanger!
Sleepy Hollow - The truth about the baby
Nikita - The twist!
And more.
This was a very light TV week for me - only 4 shows (plus 3 seasons of Mellisa and Joey on marathon). My honorable mentions include:
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow: Best show of the week for me.
Jenny gives Irving back the guns she "borrowed" and invites Irving to Thanksgiving (Best character interaction; they brought the fun)
FB - Katrina gives birth to Ichabod's son, but the protection is broken by Tree Evil and a bird attack (Best twist in a show known for twists)
Abbie tells Ichabod that he had a son (great acting)
SHIELD: It was all about May this week.
May talks GhostGuy into letting Hutchens go
May shoots Hutchens to get her out of the mob
Almost Human:
Dorian answers the 911 call in a lady's voice (Loved Kennex's reaction)
Kennex and Dorian in the car, talking near death and singing Elton John (well acted and great character development)
Grimm:
The Grimm Gang eats dinner while looking at crime scene photos (They have much stronger stomachs than I do.)
Definitely the death of Richard Harrow, even if I knew it was inevitable it really packed a punch, Jack Huston showed once again why he is an actor to watch out for.
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest: Everything that happened in this episode was amazing, from the opening montage to the final scene. Fusco bringing Simmons handcuffed into the station after that amazing speech is my favorite though. Everyone was so great in this episode.
ReplyDeleteThe Blacklist: Loved this episode, and obviously the cliffhanger. So emotional.
The Originals: The brilliant fight scene! Klaus taking the vampire army out in his typical style. Also the final scene, when he gives the dagger back to Elijah after a really emotional speech to his siblings. Joseph Morgan was really lovely in this episode.
Castle: All the scenes with Castle and Beckett and the baby, whether they were taking care of it or discussing the prospects of having one.
Homeland: Brody and Carrie's scene, when he catches her smoking outside and Dana and Brody's confrontation.
Person of Interest: The opening montage, Fusco confronts Simmons, Root takes out the Russians, Reese almost kills Quinn, and Scarface kills Simmons as Elias watches.
ReplyDeleteBasically the entire episode. Simmons death is a perfect ending to what has been an intense three episode arc. Justice has been served.
Sleepy Hollow: Ichabod decimates Tree Evil and Abbie and Ichabod decide to celebrate Thanksgiving together.
I loved watching a maddening Ichabod kill Tree Evil. So cool. Also, the scene with Abbie and Ichabod drinking rum together just made me love their friendship even more.
The Blacklist: The end scene.
What a heart pounding moment and a killer cliff hanger.
My scenes of the week:
ReplyDeleteGrimm: Nick and Juliette poring over books together. Nick is looking through Wesen books and Juliette is looking through maps, trying to figure out where Nick's mother might be. They are so cute together, and Juliette is so enthusiastic about Nick's work as a Grimm.
Grimm: I did choose the little old lady scene. It was such a surprise to find out she was El Cucuy.
The Walking Dead: Dead Weight. The Governor kills Martinez during a golf practice on top of an RV, by hitting him so he falls off the RV, then dragging him over to the zombie pit and feeding him to the zombies. Creative murder.
Another good scene from this week's Grimm!
ReplyDeleteSame here, although on Sleepy Hollow I liked the scene where Ichabod found out about his son, it was perfectly played by the actor.
ReplyDeleteAnd on The Blacklist, I also liked that Ressler and Red got to interact on a more personal level, I'm curious to see how that relationship will change from now on.
Grimm: The old lady was a cool surprise. And also, agree about Nick and Juliette. I really enjoy seeing them together like that. So happy there are no more secrets between the two. Makes them a great couple, actually. :)
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human: agree with both. Really enjoying the friendship developing between the two. And LOL at Kennex' reaction! Though mine was pretty much the same ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Originals: Joseph Morgan is a really talented guy, but I think I would enjoy his scenes much more in the episode if I wasn't so tired of listening to Klaus making himself a victim all the time.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow: That was my honorable mention. Tom Mison was absolutely brilliant in the episode!
ReplyDeleteNo contest because The Mentalist outdid itself /so hard to choose between confrontation and killing. I enjoyed both so so much. Y’all felt the way I did. I came off very satisfied. The unveiling of Jane’s thoughts regarding the bomb and Tom’s mistake. Jane knew in 6.07 before the media. How very in character, Patrick would have no interest or be curious of RJ's machinations and does not care. In the season four finale, Jane was characterized consistently telling RJ “go to hell I have nothing to say.” The magic trick from Jane's world and remembering the pigeon scaring Tom. The word about being a psychic was a direct tie to the first episode they met, the second episode of the show. [When I find Red John, I will kill him] My op RJ found the list by sneaking it away from his attic. He had many associates through WBA one of which was Bertram himself. Bertram gave Jane the creeps and me. Will the coded files allude to it? XB was magnificent too, RJ the egomaniac upset Jane ruffled his feathers *pardon the pun* and the masterful different voices of Tom, open RJ, RJ masked voice. I also thought it was Patrick J to contemplate ending his life after killing Tom. If Jane was a believer in the afterlife I dare say he would do it. Simon is overdue for an emmy It seems like emmy’s recognize only the overrated actors. Meh. He is wonderful every episode and I can’t imagine any other actor playing the season six episodes as nuanced as him. Gasped at my wife Angela, my daughter Charlotte. The chapel, cemetery was the perfect location and Jane tricking Bertram to picking it an having a prop gun ready like Jane has said he knew what he was doing. He went to the chapel knowing RJ would be back. How very logical!Jane and full of cleverness. RJ was clever in building a network but he never was a match for PJ. Patrick said RJ had a network of disciples and without disciples unwittingly helping RJ through WBA front, RJ is a shell. The Mentalist logically dismantled RJ as they have done for years with the show, apply logic, RJTom had too many people as his friends in various law enforcement departments and it was because of the criminal association.
ReplyDeleteAny scene of NCIS:LA. Go Densi! =D
ReplyDeleteFor me it was the entire episode of Castle, it was chock full of great scenes. And my "Other" was for two shows...Booth taking care of drunk Bones (so sweet) and the final scene where Deeks found out that Kensi had been reassigned indefinitely.(I almost cried along with Deeks).
ReplyDeleteWhile I agree that the ending of the Nikita ep was really cool, I think it's a red herring and the "twist" actually isn't as big as we think. Birkhoff being a double would make no sense to me. Unless there's some genius revelation next week that manages to explain all of his actions in the first two episodes, they don't make sense for someone who was trying to sabotage Team Nikita rather than help. And then, the obvious issue: how could Amanda have planted a double inside the team if she doesn't know where they are? If she does, why not just kill them?
ReplyDeleteIf there IS a double, my money is on Ryan - he could be casting suspicion on Birkhoff because he has the feeling that they'll soon pinpoint HIM as the Judas. Still, my guess is that there's no double and this is all misdirection. Birkhoff could have had other reasons to hide the identity of that NSA guy from Ryan in the end of the episode.
Sleepy Hollow: I have to agree with Justyna & Dahne,to see Ichabod so enraged and out of control decimating that tree was something to see.I'll never forget the look on his face, great acting by Mison! Then to top it off finding out you had a son! That alone could have broken him,so glad it didn't and nice to see Abbie and Crane having a drink at the end...
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human: Ba,Ba,Ba, Benny and the Jets!!..... and i really had to laugh at that q-tip and nail clippers,oh,and the gum,Yikes,lol....
Person Of Interest: Another fantastic episode, its hard trying to pick one or two scenes. But for me it was Fusco not killing Simmons because of Carter. She finally rubbed off on him,it was great seeing the restraint he had... he became the cop Carter knew he could be...a little 'be better than your father'
And,Oh Yes!! Root walking down the hall guns in hand blowing the guys away, that was priceless and such a satisfying ending to this arc...
The Blacklist: Couldn't vote for it,but i loved this episode, every single minute of it!!
Granny was something,ha!
ReplyDeleteThere was a theory going around that the NSA guy was Birkhoff's father and that he had to change his name for some reason as a result, hence the scene at the promo. It's not a bad theory but I think Birkhoff really is a double here. I think it's probably a double gone wrong though and that the real Birkhoof personality probably took over, hence why Amanda hasn't been able to use him best yet.
ReplyDeleteThe Almost Human, Nikita, Sleepy Hollow, The Originals, Agents of Shield, and Beauty and the Beast scenes mentioned.
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved everything about Person of Interest mentioned and unmentioned. Unmentioned: The Johnny Cash "Hurt" song scenes at the beginning and Elias showing up in Simmons' hospital room to have his guy kill him.
Yep, hearing Dorian talk in a woman's voice is strange. lol
ReplyDeleteI really adored the whole Castle episode, it was epic.
ReplyDeleteOn the contrary I thought that the latest Mentalist episode wasnt that good, I cannot say why but even the final scene, when Jane killed Red John didnt have "the thing" in it... :(
Grimm was downright fun this episode. I'm only sorry it was aired Thanksgiving weekend. I hope it gets a big DVR lift.
ReplyDeleteThe chemistry between Dorian and Kennex as partners is what makes this show. It's one of the few were the leads clicked right away. I love how they are not drawing out Kennex's dislike of androids as far as it comes to Dorian. It's a wise move that allows us to really get into the characters quickly.
ReplyDeleteI laughed throughout the 911 calls and Dorian's deadpan explanation was perfect. However, I visibly shuddered at the closeup of that Q-Tip. Blech.
ReplyDeleteIchabod finding out about his son was so close to getting my nomination here. I went back and forth on 3 scenes from the episode. I do think it had the best acting, maybe in the entire show so far. Tom Mison nailed it. I felt so sorry for Ichabod.
ReplyDeleteIt was a powerful scene. One of the best things about this fall season has been showcasing Tom Mison. I had not heard of him previously but whatever he does on the Sleepy Hollow hiatus, I am definitely going to give a try. Best "new" actor of the year to me.
ReplyDeleteI particularly liked hypercaffeinated Juliette when she was showing Nick the computer trail to Slovenia. She made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI am very interested to see where Ichabod's son is going to come into the mythology. He has to fit somewhere and I hope it is a great backstory.
ReplyDeleteFor me it was the gum. Yuck. I don't think I could have done it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't knew him either, but his performance never cease to amaze me, comedy, drama, best "new" actor indeed.
ReplyDeleteSH: Tom Mison is definitely one of the best new actors of the fall. The look on his face in this scene is hard to forget. Poor Ichabod. The finding out about his son was my close 2nd pick from the show.
ReplyDeletePOI: Root has so many priceless moments. She's such a fun character! Also, "be better than your father" - you just made me remember just how much I miss Fringe!
The Blacklist: Almost included it myself. But that would be my 4th choice, so... What a thrilling episode!
Interesting theory. That's the first impression I had after watching the episode and the promo. I didn't actually consider that Birkhoff could be a double until I read some comments about it. And I kinda like your idea about the real personality taking over the double. Sounds pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteBut, since guessing is not really my thing, I'm just really excited to learn what's it really about.
Both Castle scenes were great, but the diaper change was greater:)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I wonder when the son comes up again, this season?Next?
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for tomorrow! A.Human, Sleepy Hollow and The Blacklist have turned out to be my favorites this fall season.I feel almost giddy with anticipation and excitement when Mondays roll around!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait either! Loving Monday nights right now!
ReplyDeleteFor POI: That was one great montage!
ReplyDeleteWell to be fair, I have a horrible track record with guessing for TV shows as well lol, so don't go by what I am saying! I am excited too!
ReplyDeleteTurns out I'd seen him in small roles in both Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and Parade's End, but didn't realize it. Three wildly different roles and performances. And if you really want to appreciate his range, check him out as the bumbling but sweet Bingley in Lost in Austen. You won't believe it's the same guy.
ReplyDeleteTry next episode!
ReplyDeleteNo new Hollow tomorrow, unfortunately. Don't know abou Almost Human, though.
ReplyDeleteOh!!! I thought that Harry Parrish, the Sin Eater was on the next episode...
ReplyDeleteBatB - the acting in this scene will flaw you. Kudos to Jay Ryan for his confusion, his internal war and shock at what happened. It was all done simply by the looks on his face. Kudos to Kristin Kreuk no-one can make me cry like she can and Kudos to Ted Whittall for being able to stay so focused as to let JR and KK portray their struggles and not steal the scene from them being as goon an actor as you, it would have been possible. The whole scene - simply sublimely acted
ReplyDeleteI guess, but then again that's his character. Either way, this was one of my favorite episodes in terms of Joseph Morgan's acting.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human is new.
ReplyDeleteShame they forgot to put out sneak peeks though.
Really? Can you walk me through what you felt when you saw Jane throttling the life out of another human being? For me it was chilling, seeing the camera focusing on his face, all that shaking and intimate fury rather than focusing directly on his hands or even a more 'distanced' look at the actual killing by zooming out and showing a body-shot or something. It left me feeling deeply unsettled and quiet for a long time afterwards. And that's good; it should have.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm interested in why that scene left you so untouched, or perhaps, just emotionally numb?
Egads! I found Lost in Austen on Hulu. That was bloody awful. Even Mison can't save that torpedoed ship. Especially not in that blonde wig. I need brain bleach before that woman ruins Austen for me forever.
ReplyDeleteThe point is that I think that I was waiting for more. I guessed three episodes ahead who RJ was. Yeah this scene was good but I was just waiting for more. I mean from the beginning it was clear that Lisbon somehow will let him have his way with RJ. I mean the scene in the sundown - Jane and Lisbon - when he left her there while heading away with his car, that was imo more emotional. RJ having his way and killing him was maybe too predictable. Dunno. But I cannot wait how the story goes on.
ReplyDeleteSam's oh so sad and heart renching confession that he feels like theres something wrong with him at the end of this weeks episodes, he was putting it all on himself and feeling like he will never stop being a freak it was utterly devestating then guilty Dean who knows the truth goes to finally tell the truth and Zeke steps in and warns him off. Jared Padalecki played the role of Sam into Zeke back to Sam brilliantly. Trully the best scene of the episode and one of the best scenes of the week for me.
ReplyDeleteBatb - or when Catherine shut Vincent :'( I couldn't believe it
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the beast.....any scene so good
ReplyDeleteWould be helpful to know what show you are talking about.
ReplyDeleteBoardwalk Empire the scene was mentioned by Darth Locke in the main article.
ReplyDeleteThanks, if I don't watch the show, I skip over that part of the article.
ReplyDeleteThe Originals - Klaus speech to Elijah and Bekah.. he elt so betrayed and devastated.. those tears were soo genuine. also Klaus vs Marcels army. best fight scene.
ReplyDelete"I make no excuses for past sins, but in the one moment when you two could have chosen to stand by me, to believe in me, believe my intentions for my own child were pure, you chose to stand against me — to side with my enemies. I wanted a home back, now I have it, so I’m going to live there. And the two of you can stay here together… and rot."
this just killed me.. best performance and scene ever.
Almost Human has episode 4 "The Bends" and The Blacklist has their fall finale "Anslo Garrick Pt.2"...:)
ReplyDeleteWon't see the triple combo till January I suspect...
Beauty and the Beast ~ I would have gone with Cat's tearful plea to Vincent if it had been listed or even the merging of Beast powers opening scene! I love Cat's evil bio dad ~ glad we will still see him in a few more eps after the hiatus!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural for Dean almost telling Sam about Ezekiel, but also, Supernatural where, I believe, the gentle giving lover inside of Dean came out when he described how he makes love.
ReplyDeleteIf it is Ryan that is the double, why would he have come up with all these completely correct theories? Surely Amanda would have had him NOT do so?
ReplyDeleteHonourable mention: Person of Interest: Everything. Whole episode was incredible.
ReplyDeleteIf Amanda did indeed manage to send a double into Team Nikita, we would go back to the Season 3 model of Amanda, a.k.a. an omnipotent, omniscient, ridiculously unbeatable villain who is ALWAYS ONE STEP AHEAD, MWAHAHAHA. I hated that. There's no way she managed to track the team down, and as I said - if she did, why bother with the whole double plot? Why not just kill all of them FFS? I think the show is messing with us again. Plus, Birkhoff telling Nikita "I'm not Seymour Birkhoff" in the promo screams to me that they want us to think he's a clone, but he's actually just telling her that he stole someone else's identity or something like that. I also think the theory about the NSA guy is on the money.
ReplyDeleteI agree, but the same problem exists with Birkhoff. I'm only saying that IF there's a double, I think Ryan is more likely than Birkhoff because they're always throwing us curveballs and surprise twists. If Birkhoff WAS the double, they would have done their best to hide it until the big reveal.
ReplyDelete#BatB episode 8 - the ending just broke my heart!!! Cannot believe Cat did that and the look on Vincent's face was just heartbreaking....Cannot believe we have to wait till 13-Jan to find out what happens next.....things are definitely going to be rocky for our VinCat:(.....but I know in the end, they will overcome all these obstacles and find their way back together again!!!! Vincat forever.
ReplyDeleteOther: Regina saying she doesn't have any regrets because everything she did, ended up in her adopting Henry. (OUAT)
ReplyDeleteIt's my understanding that Crane brings in the Sin Eater to help him contact Katrina so he can grill her about his son. This next episode is about trying to solve the mystery surrounding Ichabod's son.
ReplyDeleteYeah, my channel guide on Comcast says Blood Moon, too. I'd prefer Sin Eater, actually.
ReplyDeleteLOL Not sure that was a wig. I've seen photos of Mison (not Bingley) taken around the same time where he's sporting blond hair. Might have been a dye job. I thought it was silly fun, and Mison actually saved the whole thing for me. He was fantastic as poor Bingley, who is put through the proverbial wringer. It's actually a bigger role than Darcy, as far as character progression and things to do--maybe even more screen time. Parade's End is a much better miniseries, overall, but Mison's part, while pivotal to the plot, is rather small.
ReplyDeleteGrimm. The looks on the normally unflappable Grimm gang are priceless.
ReplyDeleteBut was on Sunday - and the week finished on Sunday - right?
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to television, the week starts on Sunday and ends on Friday.
ReplyDeleteActually, the article covers the shows from Sunday-Saturday (this one was 24th-30th November, next one: December 1-7), since it's posted on Sunday. It wouldn't work any other way :)
ReplyDeleteAha! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteGot it
ReplyDeleteWell, it ends on Saturday if you count some BBC shows like I do ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, it will be interesting to see how he attempts to reshape himself.
ReplyDeleteHe's always brilliant. I find myself watching episodes a second time just to marvel at his performance. I honestly don't know how he plays this wacky character so compellingly. Never so much as a hint of a wink at the audience. When he was whacking that monster to bits, filled with rage, at the same time my heart was just breaking for him, because MIson managed to convey Crane's overwhelming grief along with that rage.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely check out Lost in Austen. I've been curious about it anyway and that is definitely incentive to put it at the top of the "to-watch" list over mini-hiatus.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human is new. Like you said, Sleepy Hollow is a rerun. Zap-to-It says it will be Blood Mooon, but I thought it was supposed to be The Sin Eater, ehich makes more sense.
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be what most people are guessing. That Harry is some way related. I hope not though. I kind of like the idea of not having the entire family cursed. I would love for them to piecemeal Ichabod's family line throughout this season, but to make it a focus in season 2. I think they have enough on their plates right now and I expect major forward progress on Katrina's situation by the season finale.
ReplyDeleteI dont know its not about numbness. I mean the scene in the episode before at sundawn was epic, the whole feeling. like with this episode when they met again. maybe its because episodes before I already had figures out who RJ would be. dunno. i mean it was so predictable that he would kill him, like he always said he would. I dont know.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I am looking forward to the new Jane.
I think that would be in the next week's article ;)
