EW has learned exclusively that the singer is set to appear on NBC’s drama Revolution, where he will play a post-apocalyptic version of himself.
But which character will come face-to-face with the Poison frontman? You’ll have to wait to see, but we’re told Micheals will be performing an acoustic version (…because, you know, there’s no power) of his band’s hit ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” in the episode, set to air in 2014.
“Bret is truly a great guy. I’m a huge fan of his music and I’m thrilled he’s appearing on Revolution,” creator Eric Kripke said in a statement.

I knew he was going to sing that song...Kripke i'd be impressed if you could get David Gilmore.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I don't really like him but I'm kinda excited for this.
ReplyDeleteI bet it's Miles who runs into him.
The show jumped the shark.
ReplyDeleteThe phrase itself has jumped the shark, tbh.
ReplyDeleteAnd give it a chance before you judge! It most likely won't even last that long and celebs definitely survived the Apocalypse. It'll be fun to see one.
Of course I give it a chance and I personally like those kinda appearences, though not necessarily by Bret Michaels, as long as it fits the show.
ReplyDeleteBut it felt so unnatural to Revolution because it has taken itself so seriously that having him appearing feels either unintentionally funny or an exaggerated image of having a postapocalyptic, kinda wild west scenario and a republican singer riding along. Like "We´re all cowboys and so tough". I´m sorry, but that was the first image I had in my mind when I heard of Michaels appearence.
I don't think so. A lot of it's episode titles are song titles, so music is thematic. Plus Kripke is known for having live bands in Supernatural, which we have also already seen one in Revolution.
ReplyDeletePlus at the beginning of the season Monroe was found in New Vegas (Remember David Schwimmer was the last surviving "Friend" and he performs there!) and we had a casting call for a character (Annabeth) that might have been related to New Vegas that we have yet to meet (that is, if they didn't change their minds about the character) and a there is also more casting calls for seemingly New Vegas extras for one of the first episodes in January, so it seems we are going back to that....
I think I may just explode from happy giddiness if David Gilmore showed up on Revolution.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both! He plays some fine acoustic sets,or as we use to say 'Man, that cat can play.'
ReplyDeletelol!! I actually had the amazing opportunity to see him & the rest of Floyd play in '94 for the Division Bell tour. I sat so close to the stage I swear I felt the man's sweat! Just amazing, Pink Floyd isn't heard enough these days!
ReplyDeleteI saw them 3 times but the second time half way through i wound up with a migraine and had to leave, just as the pig was flying over head! :P The pain was bad enough but i felt terrible having to leave the concert.
ReplyDeleteIt's so true,i don't hear them like i use to. radio stations aren't what they once where. In New York we had 102.7 from the late 60's thru the early 80's and every person that worked there rocked.
