———-

-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS scored another overnight Wednesday victory despite airing two hours of repeats, beating second-place NBC by two-tenths of a rating point (or four percent). “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” tied annual NBC special “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” for first in the household overnights at 8 p.m., each with a 6.3 rating/10 share. Comparably, “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” was on par with its year-ago performance (6.2/10 on 11/28/12), which translated into 9.14 million viewers (based on the live plus same day data). And “Survivor” dipped by 10 percent from the year-ago edition set in the Philippines (7.0/11 on 12/05/12).

“Survivor” led into encores of “Criminal Minds” (#3: 5.1/ 8) and “CSI” (#1: 5.2/ 9) from 9-11 p.m. And “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” led into a 4.8/ 8 for two-hour special, “Saturday Night Live: SNL Christmas.” Comparably, the “SNL” special slipped by only six percent from the 5.1/ 8 on 11/28/12 (which translated into a 2.7 rating/7 share among adults 18-49, based on the live plus same day data). But what started at a 5.6/ 9 for “SNL” in the 9 p.m. half-hour dropped to a 3.6/ 7 by 10:30 p.m.

ABC’s top choice last night, of course, was “Modern Family” with a dominant 6.8/11 in the overnights at 9 p.m. Comparably, that built from canceled lead-in “Back in the Game” (#4: 3.5/ 6 at 8:30 p.m.) by 94 percent. But the 4.1/ 7 (#3) for lackluster lead-out “Super Fun Night” slipped by 40 percent at 9:30 p.m., which led into a modest (and third-place) 3.9/ 7 for “Nashville” at 10 p.m. Earlier in the evening on ABC was “The Middle” at a third-place 5.2/ 9 at 8 p.m.

Over at The CW, “Arrow” opened with a healthy 2.3/ 4 (#5) at 8 p.m., but the 1.3/ 2 for “The Tomorrow People” at 9 p.m. (#5) was a slip of a too extensive 43 percent. Fox capped off the night with non-water-cooler worthy “The X Factor” at a fourth-place 3.9/ 6 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was down by 35 percent year-to-year.

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). 1. The Tomorrow People seems once again steady. Maybe it can tick up in the demo? Please?

  2. Am I the only one who is surprised that the CW haven't renewed Arrow already? But I REALLY want to know how Mob City did.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I have a feeling The X Factor will be somewhere between 1.3-1.7.

    ReplyDelete
  4. no shows has been renewed yet!!they always renews their shows by january end.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I don't see anything surprising there, I mean it's not even middle of season. I don't think we should expect anything before April. And what's the difference, Arrow will see many more years anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The CW has held off on renewal announcements for a while. I don't think they have announced earlier than February for renewals there have been years when they have held off until May. I'm positive Arrow, Supernatural, The Originals and Vampire Diaries will be renewed. Last year Arrow, Supernatural and TVD were renewed mid-February.

  7. I loved Arrow and Tomorrow People. Wish more people in the USA with nielson boxes whould watch it.

  8. Arrow 1.1.....I can deal with that.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Arrow up this week and got season high in total viewers (3.20m). yeay~~

    ReplyDelete
  10. Glad that Arrow is up a tenth. The viewers, however, look a bit inflated to me.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Tomorrow People did 0.7 and 1.8 mil

  13. I think Arrow will adjust up, that is a lot of viewers. Now we just need good news for TTP, TVD and Reign and it will be a job well done for the CW this week. Its highest rated Monday of the season (I think) and good all through Tuesday to Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh, I thought Arrow would at least get a 1.3 considering all the hype for Barry Allen. It still did great but hopefully it adjusts up in the finals.

    ReplyDelete
  15. a 1.1 is good but I do think it could tick up to a 1.2 in the finals.

  17. Good for TTP up for the mid season finale, CW will be pleased with that.

    ReplyDelete
  18. "NBC SNL 2.8 17.07" I don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  19. it wasn't the midseason finale, thats neek week

    ReplyDelete
  20. thats even better then, bodes well for next week?

    ReplyDelete
  21. wow TTP was actually up quite a bit this week

    ReplyDelete
  22. NBC was preempted in Portland for an NBA Basketball game from 8-10PM and ABC was preempted in Louisville from 8-9PM for a college basketball game.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow at CSI (R) tying Nashville at 10:30 for demo.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Finally, The Tomorrow People rose. Now I really hope it doesn't adjust down.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't understand. Arrow make 1.1 in demo and is considered winner, TVD make 1.3, wins of many series of the day and neither is named.

    ReplyDelete
  26. From CW Press Release:

With Dr. Barry Allen making his first appearance in Starling City, ARROW had its most watched (3.17M) episode since February last night (2/27/13).

ARROW also tied its season high in A18-34 (1.1/4), and matched its series high in M18-34 (1.4/5). It tied for its second best of the season in A18-49 (1.1/3), and tied its second best rating ever in M18-49 (1.4/5).

Versus its last original episode two weeks ago, ARROW was up +19% in total viewers, +22% in A18-34, +10% in A18-49, +56% in M18-34, and +27% in M18-49.

ARROW was #1 in the hour in M18-34, and tied ABC in A18-34.

ARROW is up versus this same week last year by +10% in A18-34, +27% in M18-34 and +17% in M18-49.
THE TOMORROW PEOPLE also rose versus its last original episode, +6% in total viewers (1.8M), and drawing its 2nd best rating of the season in A18-34 (0.6/2), +20% from two weeks ago. THE TOMORROW PEOPLE was up +17% in A18-49.

  27. TTP and Reign are fighting to death! last time Reign did 0.7 but was adjust down, lets see how TTP does this week for the finals, i hope tonight Reign go up, it keeps getting better and better each week...

Arrow rise from last week, last nigth episode was amazing! nice to see it going up.

    ReplyDelete
  28. No reason they cant both be renewed, supernatural could end due to actors leaving or being too expensive

    ReplyDelete
  29. arrow has more viewers overall it has an older audience he bases this on House holds not demos

    ReplyDelete
  30. They are already signed through next year, so that won't happen. Until we see what happens with mid-season shows, nothing can be predicted. It's unlikely but possible that the 100 or Starcrossed will hit big and take both Reign and TTP out of the running. It is possible that one or the other will crash when they come back. It's really too early to tell, but Supernatural won't play a part in the decision.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jared and Jensen have confirmed multiple times they're both signed on for season ten. And it's one of CW's highest rated shows - no way it's going anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hart of Dixie could have a short final season like Nikita or CW could order less new shows, alot of possibilities

    ReplyDelete
  33. Reigns had two 0.7s ,

    ReplyDelete
  34. oops didn't know that, good for supernatural fans

    ReplyDelete
  35. Where do you think they're going toput three new fall shows next season, plus Arrow,VD,SPN,TO,HoD for syndication & TTP ,Reign?ANTM also takes a partial fall slot. Just cause they renewed all but four shows for this season dosent mean it'll happen again.SPN won't end this season, both actors are signed fora 10 th season and have said they'll stay however long the networks airs the show and plus, with it being in the top three ratings wise of cws shows ,and Pedowitz being a fan, it's not ending this season.

    ReplyDelete
  36. but that doesnt really matter both show are steady and gaining viewers week by week, lets see how Reign does tonight i really hope can go up or at least steady with a 0.7...

    ReplyDelete
  37. i think SPN wont end any time soon i mean the show it`s doing great and i think the main characters already signed for a new season maybe season 10 could be the last as of many shows but im sure that wont be happening!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Way to go Arrow.

Say what you want to, at least Nashville is very stable in ratings.

    Same about The Tomorrow People.
