Football Overruns will affect the CBS numbers. We will have to wait until the final adjusted numbers to get a real picture of the CBS numbers.

The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

Ratings Breakdown:
An estimated 51-minute “NFL Football Overrun” led CBS to Sunday overnight victory, with a 23 percent advantage over normally dominant NBC. Keeping in mind that all individual program results for the Eye net are approximate, the Football overrun scored a whopping 19.7 rating/33 share in the household overnights from 7-7:51 p.m., which boosted “60 Minutes” to an 11.9/19 in the 8 p.m. hour. Next was “The Amazing Race,” which concludes for the season with a two-hour edition next Sunday, at a second-place 6.9/11 at 9 p.m., followed by “The Good Wife” at a 7.6/13 in the 10 p.m. hour.

Over at NBC, the New York Giants at the Washington Redskins was on the map with an approximate 12.1/19 in the overnights for the primetime portion from 8:30-11 p.m. Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game “Football Night in America” at a 1.3/ 2 at 7 p.m. (#4), a 3.0/ 5 at 7:30 p.m. (#3) and a second-place 6.8/11 in the 8 p.m. half-hour.

ABC opened the evening with a second-place 3.9/ 6 for veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 p.m., which led into a diluted (and distant third-place) 4.1/ 6 for “Once Upon a Time” from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, “Once Upon a Time” slipped by 27 percent from the 5.6/ 8 on the year-ago evening. Next on the alphabet net was original “Hallmark Hall of Fame” made-for TV movie “Christmas in Conway” at an uneventful 4.2/ 6 from 9-11 p.m.

Fox populated the evening with encores of “Bob’s Burgers” (#3: 2.5/ 4), “American Dad” (#4: 1.8/ 3) and “The Simpsons” (#4: 2.3/ 3) from 7-8:30 p.m., followed by an original episode of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 2.1/ 3), a repeat of “Family Guy” (#4: 2.2/ 3) and an original installment of “American Dad” (#4: 2.2/ 3). The repeats, needless to say, were not beneficial to the “Bob’s Burgers” and “American Dad” originals.

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
