A weekly feature highlighting the best quotes on TV this past week.
Agents of SHIELD: 'Repairs'; 26th November; Chloe Bennet, Brett Dalton/Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain de Caestecker/Laura Seay
A Dahne: Skye: "Can I please be the one who delivers the good news?" Ward: "That a non-corporeal madman is hunting her?" I love deadpan Ward, especially since Skye was particularly annoying this episode.
Simmons: "Fitz, this is no time for childish nonsense like this." Fitz: "Pranking was your idea and obviously I rigged this little beauty before I knew there was a dimension-jumping psychopath in the mix." Ha! What I love about this quote was the way Fitz turned that phrase.
Jamie Coudeville: Skye: "It's a delicate situation so you're bringing along warm and fuzzy?"
Hannah: "What are you going to do?" May: "Fix the problem."
Almost Human: 'Are You Recieving?'; 25th November; Michael Ealy/Karl Urban
A Dahne: Dorian: "I just love that you wear your insubordination like it’s a virtue." I am still not 100% sold on this show but it has some of the best buddy cop banter around. The partner chemistry between the two leads is insane. This was a great example.
Dorian: "Thank you for what you did back there." Kennex: "Don't mention it. Besides, no one messes with my coffee warmer." I love the light banter that lead to a serious conversation in which Kennex seems to have accepted Dorian. Then it's right back to snark. It would have been frustrating to have Kennex continue to have issues with Dorian as an android. Even more so to have ended on such a serious note.
Boardwalk Empire: Farewell Daddy Blues'; 24th November; Steve Buscemi, Ben Rosenfield/Jeffery Wright, Eric Ladin
Darth Locke: Nucky: "Speak your mind, Will." Willie: "If I hadn’t shown up, what you would you have done?" Nucky: "He’s your father. My brother and I’m not the person you think I am. Come by the Albatross later. We’ll both head up. That way all of us can be together, all right? It gets easier, you’ll see."
Narcisse: "Brother Garvey is a hero, devoted to the liberation of a great people." Hoover: "But you are not. You are just a peddler and a pimp sitting in a jail cell." Narcisse: "I am businessman and a follower of Christ." Hoover: "If you agree to cooperate you can go on pretending to be anything you want. You don’t and I will make sure you never see daylight in America again." Narcisse (mutters a bible verse from Matthew 6:34 under his breath) "Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Hoover: "I cannot hear you." Narcisse: "I said… yes." Hoover: "Yes what?" Narcisse: "Yes… sir."
Lost Girl: 'Lovers, Apart'; 24th November; Anna Silk
Nana Lobo: Bo: "You picked the wrong girl to screw over, because I like to make everything, personal"
Nikita: 'Dead or Alive'; 29th November; Shane West/Lyndsey Fonseca, Devon Sawa
Jamie Coudeville: Alex: "Next time give me a head's up." Owen: "I said Alex."
Person of Interest: 'The Devil's Share'; 26th November; Kevin Chapman/Enrico Colantoni/Jim Caviezel/Sarah Shahi
Bradley Adams: Fusco: "I could've been just like you, a bottom-feeder who turns on his own kind. For what? Money? Power? I got lucky. I had a partner. She was good for me. For a lot of reasons. She reminded me that I could be good again, too. I could be a good father, a good friend, a good cop. I'm not gonna let you undo all the good she did. Carter saved my life. She saved me from myself. Because she believed in me. And I'm not gonna throw that away on a piece of crap like you." The second emotional speech about Carter saving someone's life in two episodes. This one was better than Reese's. Incredibly sad. This quote was also picked by DarkUFO and Darth Locke
Elias: "I'm just gonna watch." This basically summed up the brilliance of his character. Incredibly cold, but fantastic at the same time.
DarkUFO: Elias: "You killed her. So now, I consider it my responsibility to fix the particular problem that is you, Officer Simmons." This quote was also picked by Darth Locke
Sharon Seymour: Reese: "I'm not gonna threaten to kill you. I'm going to kill you."
Shaw: "We're out of options. We need Root."
Sleepy Hollow: 'Sanctuary'; 25th November; Orlando Jones, Lyndie Greenwood/Tom Mison
A Dahne: Irving: "We act like normal people for a change." Jenny: "One night only, I promise. Then I go back to stealing from you." Jenny and Irving were the most fun thing about this episode. I hope we get more scenes with them.
Ichabod: "I know who you serve. I know why you came here. You think you could attack those I love without consequence. Hnh! That you could come for my wife, my child! Give Moloch my regards." I was tempted to quote more Jenny and Irving but this serious quote had a lot of intensity behind it. It was Ichabod's "My name is Inigo Montoya..." speech. Very powerful.
The Blacklist: 'Anslo Garrick (Part 1)'; 25th November; James Spader
Bradley Adams: Reddington: "On a sailboat surrounded by sea with no land in sight, without even the possibility of sighting land for days to come? The stand at the helm of your destiny. I want that one more time. I want to be in the Piaza Del Campo in Sienna, to feel the surge as ten racehorses go thundering by. I want another meal in Paris at L'Ambroisie in the Place des Vosges. I want another bottle of wine, and then another. I want the warmth of a woman in a cool set of sheets. One more night of jazz at the vanguard. I want to stand on summits and smoke Cubans, and feel the sun on my face for as long as I can. Walk on the all again. Climb the tower. Ride the river. Stare at the frescos. I want to sit in the garden and read one more good book. Most of all I want to sleep, like I slept when I was a boy. Give me that. Just.. one time." This episode not only proved that Raymond Reddington does get scared sometimes, but that he has an emotional side. This was a fantastic speech by him. This quote was also picked by Darth Locke
Darth Locke: Reddington: "You can't judge a book by its cover. But you can by its first few chapters, and certainly by its last."
The Originals: 'The River in Reverse'; 26th November; Phoebe Tonkin/Charles Michael Davis, Steven Kruger
Jamie Coudeville: Hayley: “So you’re having weird retro sex dreams. Get over it.”
Marcel: “Relax, if he knew, he would’ve ripped your spine out through your nose by now.” Josh: “Oh, great. Now I feel totally at ease.”
The Walking Dead: 'Dead Weight'; 24th November; Jose Pablo Cantillo/Kirk Acevedo/David Morrissey
DarkUFO: Martinez: "There are some things you don’t come back from. You either live with them, or you don’t."
Mitch: "End of the world don't mean shit when you got a tank."
Sharon Seymour: The Governor: "You can't think forever. Sooner or later, you gotta make a move."
The Governor: "You can lose a lot of soldiers but still win the game."
