Really good episode. I was interested with both Katherine helping Stefan and the storyline with Damon & Elena.
Oh, she must not be happy with the fact he killed someone this summer just because their relatives tortured him. Things will be interesting with Damon's friend still alive. Now we know why Damon turned off his emotions.
You know what, I've been fighting really hard not to become anti-Damon, and it's not because of the things he does. Damon is a selfish, sociopathic asshole. This is a fact that I accepted a very long time ago. Just because Elena makes him a better person that doesn't change his nature.
No, I'm becoming anti-Damon because of the Damon apologists. Look, if you're a fan of Damon that's fine. I have no problem with you. But if you're a fan who excuses every bad thing he does then all you are doing is making me hate Damon. Damon could literally do some horrifically terrible thing every single episode, and as long as he does one nice thing, or shows one second of vulnerability, his fans will excuse everything he does.
If you're really a fan you will accept the good and the bad, and accept that Damon has a terrible history that changed him. Don't ignore all of the bad and focus only on the good, because the bad things he has done FAR outweigh the good. The problem here is that he keeps doing them. He has Elena, the woman of his dreams. Right now he has every reason to be the happiest he's ever been in his entire life, but he still goes from only slightly murderous to a serial killer within an instant. That's a problem and way too many of his fans ignore that.
I have a question. When Delena break up, and don't fool yourself it will happen eventually, what do you think Damon is going to do? Be hurt and heartbroken for a while but react rationally, or go on a psychotic killing spree? Damon started killing people just when she rejected him, how do you think he'll react to a breakup? I bet that place will have half its citizens by the time he even thinks about calming down.
And since someone always makes the assumption, I don't ship Stelena. I ship Steferine and Steroline. I just believe that the Damon apologists are stretching their logic far beyond capacity. Doing something nice every once in a while does not in any way outweigh the bad he's done. If he stopped doing bad things then it would be a different story. But he hasn't stopped. He's barely even slowed down. One thing's for sure, Elena will probably be thinking about things after this episode.
Although I don't like Elena this season, it was STUNNING how many fans turned against her in this very episode just because she was starting to have doubts about Damon. Absolutely stunning. And you know who turned against her? The Damon apologists. I swear, go to some forums or tumblr or something. The instant she had any level of doubt about Damon, they turned on her like a lion protecting their cub. It was fascinating.
As for Steferine, they were pretty freaking hot this episode. It seemed like every second they were stuck together they were fighting not to rip each others clothes off. Which they can actually physically do. That kiss at the end was steamy. Why is Katherine hotter than Elena? That doesn't make sense to me, but it's true. Maybe it's her attitude.
I'm a Stefan/Elena fan but I was kinda shipping Stefan/Katherine tonight. There was no denying the chemistry there.
Part of the reason I like Stefan more than Damon is for the fact that Damon kills to get revenge/take out his frustration. Stefan has likely killed more because of his bloodlust but he always regrets it and often doesn't intend to kill. And I'm not counting times either Stefan or Damon had their emotions off. Emotions off doesn't count because every vamp becomes a cold hearted jerk without emotions.
Tonight's episode was really, REALLY good! I give it a two thumbs up! I'm liking the Stefan and Katherine... hoping it won't get screwed up but it probably will. Next week looks really promising!
Its funny that you just went on a huge rant about being anti-Damon because he is a murderous selfish sociopath (all true lol) but then you profess your Steferine love & Katherine preference & yet Katherine is the female version of Damon. Actually she is probably far worse lol.
I adore Damon & the more murderous & douchey he is the more I love him & I am actually so incredibly happy that he hasn't changed now that he is with Elena. She is stupid for thinking he would stop being who he was.
Katherine has made leaps and bounds more effort to be a better person than Damon. Katherine has made more progress in just the last few episodes than Damon has since he first appeared on the show. And that's without having an Elena-type influence in her life. She's becoming a better person because she's making the effort herself.
Damon isn't changing at all despite the heavy influence in his life to do so. Katherine is making an effort, Damon isn't. Their pasts may be similar, but the effort they've both put into it couldn't be more different.
If that ending ends the love triangle bits for a while, I'm all for it. But I was surprised they wrote Elana being shocked by Damon's reaction to being tortured(especially considering how they have been writing Elana's character lately). Damon being Damon what else was he going to do. Not that it was justified though. That is probably a difference between Stefan and Damon, as Stefan would of just killed every member of the family and be done with it(if he was in the same situation).
By the way, I also forgot to point out that I'm shocked to see so many people giving Caroline crap for hating Damon so much. Fantastic job with that selective memory. Considering that he turned Caroline into his "willing" sex slave with the vampire equivalent of a roofie, then tried to murder her and the people she cared about MULTIPLE TIMES, I think she has a really good reason for not liking him.
The victim shaming when it comes to Caroline and Damon is kind of disgusting.
What irritated me about this episode was how Elena seemed not to care enough about what Damon has been doing behind her back. Aaron was introduced as an empathetic character and written in a way that makes people care about him, and now it looks like he's going to be a vampire hunter or something because of Damon, who even Elena identifies with more than her new human friend that she has so much in common with. And Stefan is going to take him hostage to try to bully Wes? That's only going to make things worse. A cycle of violence is being depicted here. I was glad to see Stefan and Katherine finally go at it, and I was especially overjoyed to see Katherine writing in a diary. That gives me hope. If Elena has a brain, she will walk away from both Stefan AND Damon for good. I'm not saying that Elena didn't hurt Stefan, but she's going to find out about his little romp in the sack with Katherine and it will hurt her just as bad. Damon has just proven that he's no better than Klaus and can't be trusted not to kill off families. I think both Stefan and Damon are going to prove next week that they're part of the reason Augustine exists. I'm concerned that it'll turn out that Elena is still feeling remnants of her old sire bond to Damon. As for Enzo, that seems like a loose end that Damon should definitely have to face, but I will not feel sorry for Damon's character. It's time to start a new ship for Elena. I was hoping it would involve Aaron, but things seem to be moving in the wrong direction.
Vampire Barbie was awesome as always, wanted to see her more but I loved her reaction to Stefan and Katherine good for them BTW I hope she doesn't screw him over apart from Caroline his track record with women sucks so I hope they have something going there I like it anyone but Elena is good for Stefan
It's funny how Katherine is better than Elena when they're the same actress it's like she brings something to Elena that I don't like especially in seasons 4-5. I liked your Klaus comment because it's so true but he's always did that ever since he became a vampire. I wish Matt, Bonnie, and Jeremy was in this episode especially bonnie since we finally got her back from the other side and we've barely seen her and I'm surprised her and Stefan haven't had a scene yet seems like forever since they've seen each other they're friends after all.
OH BTW...two things I forgot to mention. One I loved that Katherine finally for the first time wrote in a diary, and what she said was hilarious!! It was even more funny when she ripped out the page. LOL The other is, did u guys happen to notice when the commercials were on during the Victoria's Secret commercials how they played Waiting Game? The song in The Originals with Klamille?? First Give Me Love, then Waiting Game?? I thought that was a very nice touch. I swear Victoria Secret Co. Watches these shows. Lol : )
U mean 6 weeks?Yeaaah. Lol I hear ya. Do u have other shows to watch during our hellatus? If not I can put u on one or two of mine, that u would really enjoy. Just let me know. ANd yes Katherine is better than Elena, b/c she is more spunky, and she's straightforward. She tells it how it is. ANd Nina does a fantastic job portraying the two. B/c they're two completely characters and we noticed that right off the back when Katherine first came on. Not the season 1 Finale (b/c it was brief) but mostly in the season 2 premiere. My god the last time Stefan/Bonnie had a real one on one scene is when he had to fill her in on Jer's death. Which was cut short. And before that was when Bonnie "killed" Grams again, or shall i say when Grams died a second time on the other side, and Stefan went to check on her, but also needed a favor, and she was just laying on the couch, and she said "this is bad timing" or w/e she said. And she just looked so exhausted while saying it in a nonchalant way with a hint of ok let's do this, life isn't getting any better, with a mix of sarcasm thrown in there.
Klaus killed two of Elena's family members (Isobel & Jenna) - not her entire family. Damon killed just as much of her family as Klaus did - he killed both John & Jeremy without knowing about the rings so he just lucked out. It also sounds like Damon & Stefan have killed past generations of Gilberts.
Yeah ok, no he hasn't. Klaus has killed for the hell of it. Damon always has a reason. And with this, now we know WHY Damon turned off his humanity in the first place. And i'll also say since Westfield and the non secret, secret society is still NOW continuing these experiments, then obviously Damon hasn't killed enough yet to get his point across. Apparently the Whitmore generation hasn't learned their lesson. But they will soon enough, especially when Stefan throws himself in the mix.
i don't think damon is a good guy or a bad one. sometimes he chooses to do things that are wrong and just unacceptable... but most of the time he gets the rest of the people safe. like he almost sacrifices his own morals and doesn't give a f--- about what people think of him after he saves the day. so this episode... his dick move was leaving his friend years ago and turning humanity off ( which stefan did before too) personally i saw damon's face and reaction to Aaron pointing a gun at elena and he immediately decided to take the blame.. he took on a role of the old damon like it was excepted and I'm even surprised none of you saw it. his face and tone changed once he started saying that he killed the whitmore's. the fact that he mentioned to elena " summer of our lives... i snuck away" with no remorse in his voice, gave it away to me that he was lying to save elena. everyone would expect it true so he decided to play the part... i don't blame you guys for thinking he did it. I'm just stating a observation that i wanted to share. but knowing the writers they will do the obvious and have him really do it.. all I'm saying is re watch the scene with what i said in mind and see what you think. besides this, the episode was great lol
This was an ok episode. It could have been better. The whole Stefan and Katherine hooking up was Jo surprise at all I mean why else would they keep her alive. It would have been better if he and Caroline hooked up, cause we all know that he will just drop Katherine the minute he finds out Elena is in trouble. I am really tired of Elena acting so surprised that Damon is still killing people. Hey Elena he is not Stefan, Damon never promised to be good, he is still a vampire just like you. Your not innocent yourself Elena so stop acting so damn self righteous. We will see how next weeks episode goes.
The only reason Katherine is acting any different is because she is human now, aka weak/fragile/dying. Don't get me wrong, I would much rather see Katherine than "dull as dish water doppelganger" Elena but Katherine is still only worrying about herself, being nicer to everyone & making an effort still is about her. I do believe she has always loved Stefan & that connection is real but otherwise she is just not being a super bitch anymore because she doesn't have the vamp powers to get away with it.
This episode left me a little speechless..... First : Damon revenge plan is so ......Damon. Killing every member of the Whitmore family but one so that after one generation to have his revenge again....so sadistic and so Damon. I'm a Damon fan all the way and I can understand where this is coming from. I guess that a man who can so deeply love the same woman for 145 years can hate with the same intensity. The only thing that bothers me is that he lied to Elena. Even if I'm the biggest Damon fan, I do not excuse every bad thing that he has done, he is a very complicated person/man/vampire and I like him because he is both bad and good, but in spite of all that he has an immensely capacity to love ( even when he left Enzo to die he had to turn his humanity off to do it because Damon doesn't let his loved ones to die) Second: Katherine is growing on me with every episode. Her discussion with Stefan in the safe was so on point I could have kissed her in that moment: move on Stefan, Elena doesn't love you anymore. Please writers of TVD put the triangle to his grave, we are all so tired of it. Maybe Elena and Damon will breake up ( hope not ) but there are other men and women in this world besides those three. And Katherine and Stefan together.....I'm not sure it is a good idea ....to me it sounds like moving back more than moving on, but at least it is something different. Those are the two ideas I got from this episode, I liked it very much, the show is much better after Silas and co's deaths. My hopes for the future: i hope Elena doesn't breake up with Damon over this ( she forgave Stefan's ripper days, and him bitting her and ....in season 3 so I hope she loves Damon enough to forgive him too). I also hope someone stakes Caroline in her sleep ( I know it is not possible but at least someone could snap her neck) because I have a feeling there is a wave of judgement coming from Caroline's direction.
Ahahahaha OMG I am so with you there! I have such a hard time watching the Originals sometimes, Klaus is NOT redeemable! I watch it for all the other characters & the fact that it has very little teen angst drama crap in it but damn every time Klaus opens his mouth I want him DEAD!
That entire scene in the safe proves you wrong in regards to her and Stefan at least. Helping Stefan doesn't benefit her at all. She climbed in there with him despite the very real danger that he could kill her. Then she helped him take a big step forward in a very human way by showing him the truth.
People like to say that Elena is Damon's link to his humanity, to the good inside of him. I believe that Stefan is Katherine's link to the good inside of her. It reminds me of Spike. Spike's cruelty made Klaus and Damon look like puppies in comparison, but when they took away his ability to kill he started to change.
People with a lot of power will almost always abuse it, and the more time you spend with that power the more you make yourself believe you're not doing anything wrong. It's only when you lose that power when you start to reflect on who you are without it.
Spike and Katherine's situation are extremely similar. Spike had a chip put into his head that prevented him from killing humans. Katherine is surrounded by people that she can't kill as a human. The journey that those two went through (or still going through with Katherine) in rediscovering their humanity is no less valid merely because you take away the tools they used to justify their past cruelty.
The true test comes when they experience their humanity and then get back the tools of their cruelty. Like Spike being chipless or Katherine's vampirism. Losing those tools, rediscovering your humanity, getting those tools back and still being the same person is a FAR greater accomplishment than having the tools and entire time and choosing not to use them.
I really like how they're turning towards Stefan and Katherine but I hate what they're doing with Damon. The writers keep screwing him over and it's getting annoying. I like Elena so much more when she's with him, it's like she's not the little annoying prude she was before, she's more of a person and less of a caricature now. Thou it won't last long if they keep trying to make it look like Damon's going backwards and not making any progress personality-wise.
The fact that Katherine got in the Safe with Stefan had nothing to do with the greater good and everything to do with her feelings for him, so yeah, she's still selfish. Don't get me wrong, I love selfish Katherine but I don't think for a minute she's making any effort to be a better person or that she's more redimable than Damon.
I really don't see how having feelings for someone is selfish. Her feelings for him were certainly a factor, but the reason she got in there is because she wanted to help Stefan. That's not selfish at all.
That's like saying someone who protects their loved one is selfish.
The name is Enzo, not End Zone LOL. Now, moving on. It might be true Damon did a favor to the vampires or something like that, and I get him wanting revenge, but he could have just killed them all and that's that. Leting one member of the family live to keep creating more killiing subjects was way too much. Also I think what people mean when they're surprised at Damon killing someone over the summer is that he is trying to be a better person, and killing that girl was absolutely unnecesary so it doesn't fit his suposed efforts. I think it's not only a bit confusing but also it looks like it's just a way for the writers to split Damon and Elena up.
LMAO...yeah I know. I was told his name on another site, but didn't want to correct it here b/c I just found it funny. Haha ok now you know what bothers me about this whole thing?? It doesn't make sense. Damon's character has grown SO much the last two seasons, and now all of a sudden the writers want to pull this, and make him take a giant leap back? it doesn't make sense. And idt Delena will break up b/c of this so I'm not worried about them. As for Damon just killing the people that put him and Enzo in there, and any other vampire. No I actually don't think he should've stopped there. According to Wes this is the Whitmore family business, being pass down from generation to generation experimenting on vamps turning them against their own kind and ripping their eyelids out. and bleeding them dry. I mean c'mon. I don't blame Damon one bit, especially since he was in there for. 5 Yrs. And who's to say that the people Damon killed wasn't part of this whole thing?? No one said these people were innocent. And giving that Enzo is STILL in there since 1943 pretty much proves that they aren't. I mean hell Wes was about to recruit Aaron in his family business freak experiments. And he wanted to wait til his bday?? Seriously? Nah if anything Damon was generous with this family generation after generation. (Of course this is how it is in TVD universe) As for Damon killing Aaron's parents, idk what to think about that. Something is missing there. B/c Damon was happy, he got the girl, they had the summer of their lives. Something's a miss there. Something had to have happened, it just doesn't add up. B/c we all know when Damon's happy (which is totally rare) he's not off killing people. There was a reason and i hope it's explained more next week. This story isn't over.
You said "Helping Stefan doesn't benefit her at all" and I don't think that's true, if she cares about him then the fact that Stefan gets better does benefit her. Even selfish people help people they care about sometimes, I'm not saying she's selfish all the time just most of the time. I don't think she should get that much credit for doing one good thing. Yes, she's connecting a little bit more with people since she's no longer inmortal but that doesn't redeem her at all, not yet at least.
I also don't get it, hope thei explain something because otherwise it would just be a cheap way to create a wedge between them. I'm not sure everyone he killed was in the family bussiness, but even if that was the case there was no need to keep one of them alive just to keep creating more hunters to kill.
I agree with it not redeeming her yet, but I still think she's progressed much further and put far more effort into it than Damon has. And Damon has had more time and more motivations to redeem himself and still ignores it.
Damon has come a very long way, he'll never be what we could cosider a good person but he has done some pretty good things, Katherine on the other hand hasn't, everytime she's done something romtely good it's in her own interest. I'm really looking forward to see her evolve but she's difinitely not there yet and I can't recall one thing she's done without some selfish reason.
I loved this episode, I loved the whole Damon back story. The fact he went through hell for five years and when he broke out (even with his humanity switched off) he didnt tell his brother because he knew Stefan wouldn't be able to deal with that level of guilt. And while his revenge plan seemed like over kill (pun intended) to for five years he didnt only just experience physical pain but psychological having to listen to his buddy going through the same pain he did.
I think this episode gives fantastic insight to Damon, and really has got me excited about TVD again
Yea that's a real cheap shot on their part. And I don't like that at all. He didn't keep them alive to help create more hunters. The only hunter was Grayson. He kept them alive to see if they were still experimenting. At least that's what I think. He also did it out or revenge and guilt for Enzo, and being in there for. 5 Yrs he had to go a little crazy. We all know Enzo is long gone now. His last remaining memory is probably Damon leaving him...either way u look at it, things are about to get much worse. Sigh. Ok it's 5am, andI have to be up in 2hrs. SoI'm gonna get some sleep or try too. We'll theorize more later.
Damon has done plenty of good things, but every time he does something good he turns around and does something REALLY bad. They don't ever come close to evening out. Putting his relationship with Stefan's ex aside, he has to be one of the worst brothers I've seen on television in a long time.
The difference between Damon and Katherine redeeming themselves is that Damon is still a vampire. He can choose not to murder people, but still does it anyway. Katherine doesn't have a choice either way so her effort has to be focused elsewhere. Although things are always tense between them, Katherine has made huge progress with her daughter. Her cruel side has been fighting a rapidly losing battle with her good side anytime she's near her daughter.
From my point of view, Katherine has become more in touch with her humanity since meeting her daughter than Damon has since he got with Elena by a sizable amount. Katherine is in fact moving forward, even if it's not very quickly. Damon seems to take one step forward and then a step right back immediately after. He'll do something nice and then do something really bad, then do something nice and do something bad again.
So far, I haven't seen Damon do anything good that came close to outweighing anything bad. Redemption isn't a participation trophy. You don't get it for trying.
Well, this week is almost over that's why I just said 5 weeks. I think I have some but really I don't know but I would love to have some suggestions of other shows to watch otherwise I might just rewatch some shows I haven't seen in a while. I know! Nina is such an amazing actress I just hate how Elena is written she annoys the heck out of me so much. I know! I loved their scene when he wanted to ask her about the symbol on the wooden bullet but was also there for her when she thought she hurt Grams the hug he gave her said so much and to fill her in about what happened I miss their scenes I wish we see more and you know what I actually shipped them.
Katherine told Stefan about Klaus telling his Hybrids to kill Damon as soon as he gets killed. That was one time when she wasn't selfish at all.. she even sacrificed her freedom for that. But don't get me wrong.. I'm not defending her. I'm still mad at her for killing Jeremy. But I think she is on a good way to redemption. And she sure is a very interessting and complex charakter. That's what i love her for.
I understand that Caroline can't forgive Damon for what he did too her. I totally get that. What i don't get is that she kind of forgave Klaus all the horrbile things he did. He killed Jenna and Carol, He turned Tyler into a Hybrid, He killed Elena (she came back but he did kill her) and he did so many other terrible things. I know Caroline never said that she forgives him and but i kind of think she does even if she would never admit it. I mean .. she invited him to her Graduation.. I'm not saying she has no right to hate Damon, because she does, but her double standarts piss me off
I noticed that too and at first i was sure that he was lying to save Elena.. but how could he have known the last one of aarons family who got killed was named sarah and that it was a few month ago? Elena didn't told him
I really don't understand why you people want Damon and Katherine redemption? Do you realize that if they become good how boring they are going to be? They are the salt and pepper of the show. Without them being "them" I think people will stop having so much fun watching ( they are my favorites by the way).
I couldn't agree with you more! Everyone is talking about how they are changing & redeeming themselves...uh no they aren't. Damon is no different than when the show started & the same goes for Katherine. Its not black & white, good people are capable of doing bad things & bad people are capable of doing good things.
Damon APPEARS to have changed to some degree because he isnt trying to murder everyone in the core group anymore but that is only because his emotions came back on & he started to care for Elena. He even expressed in S3 that he was having a crisis because Elena saw good in him & he wanted to be what she expected of him but that in doing so he couldn't be who he really was. I love the way he is & don't blame him one bit when he does murderous things, usually I see the validation behind his actions. Like the Whitmore family killings generation after generation, after 5 years of unrelenting torture at the hands of that douchebag I'd do the same thing. Aaaaaaaaaannnnnnnd now here come the "inocent people" blah blah blah comments lol
As for Katherine, vampirism magnifies the base personalty, again she APPEARS to have changed since becoming human again but really she just doesn't have the vampirism magnifying her inner bitch now. She was always head strong & a survivor, as a vampire she just got more self preservation oriented & less emotional. I also don't fault her for some of her actions, she was treated like crap by her father & then was Klaus's prisoner/play thing & she did what she had to do to survive, again I would've done the same thing she did.
Though there is one fundamental difference between Damon & Katherine that makes Katherine the worse of the two: she schemes & manipulates with malicious intent. Damon reacts to things done to him or events that involve him, he gets hurt then he exacts his revenge, crimes of passion. Katherine on the other hand is always working the situation to try to get the most out of it & she doesn't give a shit what happens to anyone else as long as she gets the benefit to her. Either way they are both selfish murderous fiends & are much more fun to watch than the "good" characters on the show who are always whining about life not being fair & judging everyone else around them for not being perfect.
If you're taling about the last step back I'm not really convinced we know the whole truth because otherwise it seems like a cheap way for the writers to create a wedge between Damon and Elena. The fact that in the "best summer of his life" Damon would sneak off to kill a girl is not congruent with the progress he'd made, since he's with Elena he has donde bad things but usually for a reason so I'm not buying it (even if it's only not to hate the creators for just plain bad writing).
True. Yet another reason why Elena doesn't belong with either of them. I think Delena came too late. I rooted for it in the past, but it doesn't seem like a good fit anymore.
You're right. I think the writers are setting things up for a Delena breakup very soon. The look on Damon's face could have been a result of Ian Somerhalder having a hard time making the story believable. Sometimes that happens to even the most talented actors. It's no big deal.
Whatever feelings she has for Klaus she has never acted on though. I think her problem is that Elena chose to get over everything Damon has done and she's with him now - when she was repressing her feelings for Damon (at say the start of Season 3) Caroline seemed to have less of an issue with it.
Ok some shows you should get into..definitely watch The Following, if you haven't yet, you MUST!!! You could try New Girl, that's funny. Do you watch TBBT?? And you should definitely watch Being Human. The US version, not the UK version.
I've seen The Following haven't watched New Girl not sure what TBBT is and I've seen both the UK and US of Being Human gotta love Mark Pellegrino in the US version he's awesome in every show he's in.
TBBT= The Big Bang Theory.....So you're all caught up with The Following and Being Human?? Have you ever watched Lost? Or Nip/Tuck?? I know they're off the air, but still just throwing out good shows that'll keep you busy. Lol....Have you watched Cougar Town?? Bones? Mike and Molly? Melissa and Joey (it's a guilty pleasure).
Oh, that show I've seen it before I watch it sometimes when there's nothing else on. I am caught up on those shows I've seen lost but not Nip/Tuck sounds like some plastic surgury version of Grey's Anatomy. Haven't seen Cougar Town watched some of Bones but maybe I should start watching from the Pilot hope it's as good as people say. Don't watch Mike and Molly or Melissa and Joey but heard of those I believe it's a ABC Family show and thank you for the suggestions I appreciate it.
All the shows u name i watch lol except New Girl and lost or Nip/tuck lol also True Blood.
Guess Paul isnt St Augustine Vampire after all lol Enzo is my new prime suspect lol how do i know well Maxifield did say he will be happy to see him again and he's the only vampire who saw Damon alive
Yeah i already theorized that with others a few days ago that Enzo could be Augustine. As for Lost, Nip/Tuck, and True Blood, you might wanna give those a look when all our shows go on hiatus.
Me neither but I don't it's some doctor show like House or Scrubs. I just watch Bones from time to time you know and watched random cases but it made sense I hope it's good because I guess I'll start Bones after I watch the midseason finale of both Arrow and The Tomorrow People maybe this weekend.
I actually think the CW has some midseason shows that will air then so I'll watch some of the ones you sent me and try some of those Pilots if they're good I've been hearing good things about 100 and some people say Star Crossed is good but not sure how good it really is based on the pilot and people saying it's like Roswell.
I want to watch Star Crossed so badly, b/c it's like Roswell. (I watched Roswell til it ended). Did that air already??? I'll be mad if it did, I forgot the date it's suppose to premiere.
Yeah, I want to watch it too because Roswell was so good and I watched it as well until it ended and it's too bad it ended so early. The Pilot hasn't aired yet it's a midseason show so I believe it'll air probably after Arrow and The Tomorrow People are on break.
Yeah, I'll watch it this weekend after I watch The Tomorrow people and Arrow a bunch of times. I can't wait until Wednesday either whenever I have a show on a specific day the week goes by so slow.
Yeah unfortunately the ratings for Roswell had went wayyy down, so instead of if being cancelled, they ended up making the series finale in the 3rd season. Oh good...i have to put the date in my phone.
What I want to know is if Damon has been systematically killing generations of this family, wouldn't he know Wes and Aaron. If he killed Aaron's aunt this past summer? If he kept tabs on this whole family? And, knowing the history of Whitmore College and the Augestine experiments...why would he be shocked to find the blood bag and say he hadn't head that name in a long time. And, while torturing Wes to find out why he was experimenting on vampires...it didn't occur to him that it was connected? He didn't know Wes...or Aaron..... Makes no sense that he killed Aaron's aunt.....
I struggle when it comes to understanding Damon's character. I agree completely that Stefan is moving backwards with Katherine, and I hope it was just a one-time thing. I think the show is trying to move away from the original love triangle, but the only way to do that completely IMO is to give Elena a reason to leave Damon and move on to someone not named Salvatore. What happened to that storyline everyone was waiting for involving a relationship between Damon and Bonnie? I'm not saying that Bonnie and Jeremy aren't a great couple, but just like Elena should be moving on, it's time for Damon to move on too. He has more in common with Katherine than Stefan does. Of course, I think Katherine needs someone more stable like Matt. I was annoyed by Caroline's interference in Delena at first, but now I understand where she's coming from. Elena should not defend what Damon has been doing to the Whitmore family. She should be heartbroken that he would do something like that behind her back after everything that happened to her own family. Forgiveness might be possible, but she would be crazy to stay with Damon. His situation is different from Stefan's in that Stefan often lost control of himself, while Damon planned everything out and controlled his own actions for about 60 years.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Really good episode. I was interested with both Katherine helping Stefan and the storyline with Damon & Elena.
ReplyDeleteOh, she must not be happy with the fact he killed someone this summer just because their relatives tortured him.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm becoming anti-Damon because of the Damon apologists.
ReplyDeletePart of the reason I like Stefan more than Damon is for the fact that Damon kills to get revenge/take out his frustration.
ReplyDeleteIts funny that you just went on a huge rant about being anti-Damon because he is a murderous selfish sociopath (all true lol) but then you profess your Steferine love & Katherine preference & yet Katherine is the female version of Damon. Actually she is probably far worse lol.
ReplyDeleteI adore Damon & the more murderous & douchey he is the more I love him & I am actually so incredibly happy that he hasn't changed now that he is with Elena.
ReplyDeleteDamon isn't changing at all despite the heavy influence in his life to do so. Katherine is making an effort, Damon isn't. Their pasts may be similar, but the effort they've both put into it couldn't be more different.
I feel exactly the same about Klaus
ReplyDeleteIf that ending ends the love triangle bits for a while, I'm all for it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I also forgot to point out that I'm shocked to see so many people giving Caroline crap for hating Damon so much. Fantastic job with that selective memory. Considering that he turned Caroline into his "willing" sex slave with the vampire equivalent of a roofie, then tried to murder her and the people she cared about MULTIPLE TIMES, I think she has a really good reason for not liking him.
ReplyDeleteThe victim shaming when it comes to Caroline and Damon is kind of disgusting.
ReplyDeleteThis episode gave me a reason to agree with Caroline wholeheartedly on her opinions about Elena's relationship with Damon.
ReplyDeleteVampire Barbie was awesome as always, wanted to see her more but I loved her reaction to Stefan and Katherine good for them BTW I hope she doesn't screw him over apart from Caroline his track record with women sucks so I hope they have something going there I like it anyone but Elena is good for Stefan
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how Katherine is better than Elena when they're the same actress it's like she brings something to Elena that I don't like especially in seasons 4-5.
ReplyDeleteOH BTW...two things I forgot to mention. Lol : )
ReplyDeleteU mean 6 weeks?Yeaaah.
ReplyDeleteKlaus killed two of Elena's family members (Isobel & Jenna) - not her entire family. Damon killed just as much of her family as Klaus did - he killed both John & Jeremy without knowing about the rings so he just lucked out. It also sounds like Damon & Stefan have killed past generations of Gilberts.
ReplyDeleteDamon has killed plenty of people for the hell of it. A lot of the time he kills people for no real reason other than he just feels like it.
ReplyDeleteYeah ok, no he hasn't.
ReplyDeletei don't think damon is a good guy or a bad one. sometimes he chooses to do things that are wrong and just unacceptable... but most of the time he gets the rest of the people safe. like he almost sacrifices his own morals and doesn't give a f--- about what people think of him after he saves the day. so this episode... his dick move was leaving his friend years ago and turning humanity off ( which stefan did before too) personally i saw damon's face and reaction to Aaron pointing a gun at elena and he immediately decided to take the blame.. he took on a role of the old damon like it was excepted and I'm even surprised none of you saw it. his face and tone changed once he started saying that he killed the whitmore's. the fact that he mentioned to elena " summer of our lives... i snuck away" with no remorse in his voice, gave it away to me that he was lying to save elena. everyone would expect it true so he decided to play the part... i don't blame you guys for thinking he did it. I'm just stating a observation that i wanted to share. but knowing the writers they will do the obvious and have him really do it.. all I'm saying is re watch the scene with what i said in mind and see what you think. besides this, the episode was great lol
ReplyDeleteThis was an ok episode.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason Katherine is acting any different is because she is human now, aka weak/fragile/dying.
ReplyDeleteThis episode left me a little speechless.....
ReplyDeleteFirst : Damon revenge plan is so ......Damon. Even if I'm the biggest Damon fan, I do not excuse every bad thing that he has done, he is a very complicated person/man/vampire and I like him because he is both bad and good, but in spite of all that he has an immensely capacity to love ( even when he left Enzo to die he had to turn his humanity off to do it because Damon doesn't let his loved ones to die)
Second: Katherine is growing on me with every episode.
ReplyDeleteThat entire scene in the safe proves you wrong in regards to her and Stefan at least. Helping Stefan doesn't benefit her at all. She climbed in there with him despite the very real danger that he could kill her. Then she helped him take a big step forward in a very human way by showing him the truth.
ReplyDeletePeople like to say that Elena is Damon's link to his humanity, to the good inside of him.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Katherine got in the Safe with Stefan had nothing to do with the greater good and everything to do with her feelings for him, so yeah, she's still selfish. Don't get me wrong, I love selfish Katherine but I don't think for a minute she's making any effort to be a better person or that she's more redimable than Damon.
ReplyDeleteI really don't see how having feelings for someone is selfish. Her feelings for him were certainly a factor, but the reason she got in there is because she wanted to help Stefan. That's not selfish at all.
ReplyDeleteThat's like saying someone who protects their loved one is selfish.
ReplyDeleteKatherine said she called Rebekah and Caroline turns out? Wtf?
ReplyDeleteAnd please dont 'I meant to tell it on your birthday' crap.
SO HAPPY about Stefan and Katherine, I wouldnt mind those two as an endgame with Delena <3
Overall it was pretty good episode! :)
ReplyDeleteYou said "Helping Stefan doesn't benefit her at all" and I don't think that's true, if she cares about him then the fact that Stefan gets better does benefit her.
ReplyDeleteI also don't get it, hope thei explain something because otherwise it would just be a cheap way to create a wedge between them. I'm not sure everyone he killed was in the family bussiness, but even if that was the case there was no need to keep one of them alive just to keep creating more hunters to kill.
ReplyDeleteI agree with it not redeeming her yet, but I still think she's progressed much further and put far more effort into it than Damon has. And Damon has had more time and more motivations to redeem himself and still ignores it.
ReplyDeleteDamon has come a very long way, he'll never be what we could cosider a good person but he has done some pretty good things, Katherine on the other hand hasn't, everytime she's done something romtely good it's in her own interest. I'm really looking forward to see her evolve but she's difinitely not there yet and I can't recall one thing she's done without some selfish reason.
ReplyDeleteI loved this episode, I loved the whole Damon back story.
ReplyDeleteI think this episode gives fantastic insight to Damon, and really has got me excited about TVD again
ReplyDeleteDamon has done plenty of good things, but every time he does something good he turns around and does something REALLY bad. They don't ever come close to evening out. Putting his relationship with Stefan's ex aside, he has to be one of the worst brothers I've seen on television in a long time.
ReplyDeleteThe difference between Damon and Katherine redeeming themselves is that Damon is still a vampire.
ReplyDeletei can't tell you how much i agree with this! I never thought of comparing Spike and Katherine but it's so true! i couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteKatherine told Stefan about Klaus telling his Hybrids to kill Damon as soon as he gets killed.
ReplyDeleteSame here! Klaus is just like a stubburn little kid who wants eeeeverything to be like he wants it to be and if he can't get that he freaks
ReplyDeleteI understand that Caroline can't forgive Damon for what he did too her. I'm not saying she has no right to hate Damon, because she does, but her double standarts piss me off
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too and at first i was sure that he was lying to save Elena.. but how could he have known the last one of aarons family who got killed was named sarah and that it was a few month ago? Elena didn't told him
ReplyDeleteKatherine said she called "for backup" not Rebekah
ReplyDeleteMakes sense now, lol
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand why you people want Damon and Katherine redemption? Do you realize that if they become good how boring they are going to be? They are the salt and pepper of the show. Without them being "them" I think people will stop having so much fun watching ( they are my favorites by the way).
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more! Everyone is talking about how they are changing & redeeming themselves...uh no they aren't. Damon is no different than when the show started & the same goes for Katherine. Its not black & white, good people are capable of doing bad things & bad people are capable of doing good things.
ReplyDeleteDamon APPEARS to have changed to some degree because he isnt trying to murder everyone in the core group anymore but that is only because his emotions came back on & he started to care for Elena.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Yet another reason why Elena doesn't belong with either of them. I think Delena came too late. I rooted for it in the past, but it doesn't seem like a good fit anymore.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I think the writers are setting things up for a Delena breakup very soon. The look on Damon's face could have been a result of Ian Somerhalder having a hard time making the story believable. Sometimes that happens to even the most talented actors. It's no big deal.
ReplyDeleteWhatever feelings she has for Klaus she has never acted on though. I think her problem is that Elena chose to get over everything Damon has done and she's with him now - when she was repressing her feelings for Damon (at say the start of Season 3) Caroline seemed to have less of an issue with it.
ReplyDeleteOk some shows you should get into..definitely watch The Following, if you haven't yet, you MUST!!! You could try New Girl, that's funny. Do you watch TBBT?? And you should definitely watch Being Human. The US version, not the UK version.
ReplyDeleteI've seen The Following haven't watched New Girl not sure what TBBT is and I've seen both the UK and US of Being Human gotta love Mark Pellegrino in the US version he's awesome in every show he's in.
ReplyDeleteTBBT= The Big Bang Theory.....So you're all caught up with The Following and Being Human?? Have you ever watched Lost? Or Nip/Tuck?? I know they're off the air, but still just throwing out good shows that'll keep you busy. Lol....Have you watched Cougar Town?? Bones? Mike and Molly? Melissa and Joey (it's a guilty pleasure).
ReplyDeleteOh, that show I've seen it before I watch it sometimes when there's nothing else on.
ReplyDeleteAll the shows u name i watch lol except New Girl and lost or Nip/tuck lol also True Blood.
ReplyDeleteGuess Paul isnt St Augustine Vampire after all lol Enzo is my new prime suspect lol how do i know well Maxifield did say he will be happy to see him again and he's the only vampire who saw Damon alive
Yeah i already theorized that with others a few days ago that Enzo could be Augustine. As for Lost, Nip/Tuck, and True Blood, you might wanna give those a look when all our shows go on hiatus.
ReplyDeleteMe neither but I don't it's some doctor show like House or Scrubs. I just watch Bones from time to time you know and watched random cases but it made sense I hope it's good because I guess I'll start Bones after I watch the midseason finale of both Arrow and The Tomorrow People maybe this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI actually think the CW has some midseason shows that will air then so I'll watch some of the ones you sent me and try some of those Pilots if they're good I've been hearing good things about 100 and some people say Star Crossed is good but not sure how good it really is based on the pilot and people saying it's like Roswell.
ReplyDeleteI want to watch Star Crossed so badly, b/c it's like Roswell. (I watched Roswell til it ended). Did that air already??? I'll be mad if it did, I forgot the date it's suppose to premiere.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I want to watch it too because Roswell was so good and I watched it as well until it ended and it's too bad it ended so early. The Pilot hasn't aired yet it's a midseason show so I believe it'll air probably after Arrow and The Tomorrow People are on break.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'll watch it this weekend after I watch The Tomorrow people and Arrow a bunch of times. I can't wait until Wednesday either whenever I have a show on a specific day the week goes by so slow.
ReplyDeleteYeah unfortunately the ratings for Roswell had went wayyy down, so instead of if being cancelled, they ended up making the series finale in the 3rd season. Oh good...i have to put the date in my phone.
ReplyDeleteWhat I want to know is if Damon has been systematically killing generations of this family, wouldn't he know Wes and Aaron.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you when there's a confirmed date just so you know.
ReplyDeleteOh, no worries, I'll keep an eye out. thank you though.
ReplyDeleteoh, good point :(
ReplyDeleteI struggle when it comes to understanding Damon's character.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Star Crossed will air February 17th.
ReplyDeletelol yea. = ) Thanks
