That was great! I love that they figured it out pretty quickly that Henry wasn't himself. Aw at Snow being worried about Regina at the end (even though she shouldn't).
Hee at all of David's one-liners this episode. I liked the "I didn't mean right now" in the diner and then "I'm a married man" one to Emma. And I know it was a joke and I wonder if their Storybrooke personalities are shining through there, but I like that
All this episode did was reinforce my opinion that Neal isn't right for Emma anymore. Hook is backing off because he knows Emma needs it, and he's willing to risk losing any chance with her if it means there's even the smallest chance of doing it the right way. Neal pretty much asks her out immediately. [sarcasm]Very smooth, Neal, very smooth.[/sarcasm]
I don't hate Neal, I'm just annoyed that he hasn't realized how much Emma has changed. She's not the same person she was when they were together. Neal is still trying to figure her out, while Hook has always done that without even trying. I swear, the more this show goes on, the more boring the prospect of a Neal and Emma relationship becomes.
It's just so, so sad that they have to resort to dumbing down Regina to give Emma and Snow moments to shine. There's a fine line between seeing what you want to see, on the one hand, and completely ignoring common sense. It was just too ridiculous to take Henry to the tomb/vault and just stand there! Why wouldn't Regina take him to the Evil Queen outfits museum instead? At least there was a place to sit there. Neal/Emma/Hook is getting more annoying by the minute. And apparently, Snow/David had to insist on Emma dating Neal, because God forbid she decided to remain single for the time being. O.o Anyway, I wish I could believe that Pan enacting the Dark Curse was a good thing. I would like to see more episodes with the s1 vibe and dynamics, but I'm afraid that in reality it will just be going round in circles. On a more positive note, Josh and Ginny are adorable together and their chemistry makes the Snowing scenes somewhat bearable. :)
When i saw the cape Ginny was in i laughed expecting to see a big baby bump, but she is hardly showing .Can you imagine what they are going to put her in in a few months!
I don't want Neal with Emma because he's the reason she's no longer the same person she was before, but I can understand why he asked her out at the diner. Hook had just told him he was going to step back, which I assume was a surprise to Neal, so he thought "Yeah, I'll go with it."
Major point to Hook for stepping back for the sake of the child. (Loss of points for trying to get it with Tink so quickly.)
That's what Hook does. He flirts with people. He came on to Snow White multiple times...with Charming standing right next to her. Not that I can blame him. Hook has good taste.
Flirting is good, but this was beyond flirting though. He invited her into his room, and Tink knew it was for sex because she started talking about her self-esteem.
fucking awful. I have no words. pointless dialogues, everybody hugs and sticky sweet sugary syrop everywhere. and new old curse *facepalm* they must be kidding. the show is over. they have nothing to say. and no I'm not waiting for another 7 months to get a ''reward'' of 30 secs rumbelle scene. thak you very much.
I was so eager to see Medusa and I found myself bored at the flashbacks - I don't know if it was because the story going on at Storybrooke was more interesting or because the flashbacks were boring per se. I loved this episode to bits. The father and daughter conversation was awesome, the way MM told everyone that Regina helped them great deal, the almost jealousy in Emma's voice when she asked Tink and Hook if they had something going on... Oh, and I loved the Regina/Tinkerbell friendship!
The flashbacks seemed kind of pointless. Henry and Pan annoy me. I'm glad they're back in Storybrook cause Neverland was irritating and I really, really hope that next episode's curse sends every neverlander to neverland and we just stop the world mix-up. Hook was pretty sweet and I do think Neal and Emma should give it another go sometime but I definitely do not think this is their time, specially by the way she looks at Hook.
Loved this episode, especially the Storybrooke moments! Loved the reunion scene in the beginning. It was great to see little bits of normalcy here and there. Like Snow and Charming just enjoying a quiet meal, Hook hanging out with the dwarves and stopping Sneezy's sneeze haha! Hats off to Hook for stepping back, I thought it was really sweet.
Charming was truly gold with all his one liners! Poor Emma, I really really hope she gets her happy ending. AND OMG PAN I WANT TO KILL YOU, YOU EVIL BRAT.
Does anyone else think the reason for Snow obsessing with Regina is not because she one day wants a family but something else. I mean, she was the only one through the whole episode that rushed to Regina's aid, and she told everyone that Regina helped save Henry. I'm in no way saying that she is in love with her, but maybe she doesn't really hate her. You know how when two people really hate each other, they can't live without each other. It's not love, its their life. They have been "hating" each other for long that maybe its not hate. I don't know, i've just realised it, i just think that because Snow is the only one to see the real Regina, i think she still believes the good is there.
Wow, this is a great episode, for both of its flashback and present time.
Flashback: Yes, I think I've expressed in here some time before that I would love them to stop flashbacks about Snow and Charming running away from Regina or fighting Regina. It's done multiple times. But this time, I loved it because of the interaction between Snow and Charming and their fight with Medusa! I was freaking out the whole time when they were trying to take off Medusa's head without looking at her. It was a really satisfying battle. Although, I gotta admit that the resolution (i.e. showing a mirror to Medusa so she looked at herself) is something that is done again and again in other shows and films, so it's not exactly creative or new. But the whole storyline is quite brilliant I should say.
Present time: I have some observations:
1) I love it everytime Charming acted like a father to Emma, or Snow like a mother to Emma. I wish there are more scenes like this in the future.
2) I love how they don't drag the Henry in Pan's body storyline too long. I mean, in this episode they already figured it out. Although Pan is still out there.
3) I also love it when Rumple said that Snow and Charming are their family and Snow admitting out loud that Regina helped save their lives. The vibe of them coming together is getting bigger.
4) I am a forever Pan hater, but when Pan is nice (granted, he's actually Henry), I'm starting to like him. But Henry, no matter how nice he is, I don't like him/ So, maybe the solution is kill Pan which is in Henry's body and keep Henry in Pan's body?
Anyways, love this episode. I thought this was the midseason finale, but I was screaming in joy when I found out there is another episode next week!
I like that theory. It might also explain the prophecy of Henry being Rumple's undoing. Maybe the prophecy was more about someone with Henry's appearance, but not really Henry.
I think Ginnifer and Lana have both said that Snow and Regina do still love each other. Both have had opportunities to end this and haven't been able to. Snow stopped Regina from being executed because she still cared about her and Regina has had chances to kill Snow but didn't. And if you remember in the Evil Queen while Regina was disguised as Wilma that Snow still talked fondly of her and Regina seemed hopeful that maybe they could work things out. But then they found the village that Regina ordered slaughtered because they wouldn't tell her where Snow was. (And now suddenly thinking of Star Wars about how Obi Wan told Luke that he used to think that there was still good in Vader and thinking that would make Snow Obi Wan to Henry's Luke. Maybe I should go to bed).
Thanks for that. I enjoy OUAT everynow and then i catchup on the episodes, i am now uptodate, but forget about previous episodes as im a fan but not as much as others. Thanks for reminding me of those episodes. I completely agree, Regina has had countless opportunities to kill Snow and the same with Snow.
Im looking forward to the episode where someone makes them realise their love for each other. Maybe it will be Robin Hood who opens her eyes.
I didn't see it as dumbing her down. I think Pan knew where she was most vulnerable and used it to his advantage. Even Regina admitted that she was so happy to see Henry finally choosing her, that she didn't want to question why. As smart as Regina is, I don't think she's ever been very good at reading Henry, which is why she didn't notice that something was off. It seemed quite in character to me.
Agreed, I always considered that deep inside Snow still sees the Regina that saved her from the horse and Regina sees in Snow that she {Regina} was once a good person and that she could still be that girl.
Agree to all your points. Although I felt it was a little bit weird when Regina hugged Henry in Pan's body - after all, she took a heart out of that body.
I really liked the episode! Wow, we had so much actual conversations and interacting between all characters, it felt somehow fresh. The new curse storyline is exiting, can't wait for next week!
I know! Like everyone hugged Pan like nothing happened. I was expecting a bit of reserved judgment. But I guess they had to resolve that as soon as possible. And for me, it's not really rushed out.
Since the beginning of season 2 this show has been floundering and just god awful for the most part.I think we had a handful of quality episodes, but nothing like the first season. I can't begin to tell you how frustrated i have been with the lazy writing, and bad storylines. I welcome the curse, its almost like having a re-do wiping the slate clean.Maybe this time they won't screw up,at least until the curse is broken once again.
Haha I'm pretty happy with how things have been going. I hope there isn't a curse reset, but if there is it'll be interesting to see how they deal with it. Especially if Emma is no longer the saviour :O
As I wrote earlier, it's not the fact that she didn't notice something was off that I find unrealistic. On the contrary, Regina has always ignored reality whenever it was too painful for her to accept it - choosing to blame Snow, instead of Cora, for Daniel's murder, is a classic example of that.
But her actions were illogical. So she wanted to keep Henry safe: why go to her vault with curses, chests containing snakes, potions, and all sorts of magical weapons lying in plain sight? What if it had been the real Henry and he had knocked something over by accident?
I may be biased, but, imo, Regina would come up with a smarter plan to protect Henry. Her confession that she was desperate to believe he needed her was just a lame excuse for the lazy writing. And speaking of lazy writing, it was all too convenient that the exact potion which Pan needed to neutralise Regina, was on a shelf just behind her, and Pan knew exactly what that potion would do.
I'm hoping it's not what we think since it might be like a curse on top of a curse (or at least on top of magic)...I kind of hope it reconfigured to look like FTL and that they now have a life that looks like there never was curse, but yet they are still with in The Land Without Magic...
I just think if we go back to another version of Storybrook, it might be too repetitive...
Another thought I had is if some of them would be transformed into children (hence 'the new Neverland' aspect)! Whatever it is I hope there's a twist compare to what we have seen before!
I don't view it that way. I think the episodes before gave Regina many shinning moments and Emma and Snow had been more backgound-ish characters for most of the season, as it catered more to Regina, Rumple, Peter, and Hook. We saw that Regina has a right of passage now as being a parental figure, so now it's time to remind us that Emma has some rights too, which actually, she admits and explains to her parents what the price of being the Savior has been, which is not to really live for herself, but for others....
Plus I think this is about to get all rearranged again. I'm thinking we might see something reminiscent to a new "FTL" as apposed to a new Neverland and/or resetting of Storybrooke....I keep thinking Regina has to get to Robinhood somehow...
Maybe it was a two in one idea. Like I need to protect Henry, which means she needs magic, but also perhaps because she has to protect her magic as well. Personally I think Regina, although still a bit delusional, is not the same person now. I think she's not thinking the way she had period.
I think the flashback will be more important later...
1. Grecian Myth is thematic: Peter "Pan", "Pan-dora's Box", Medusa) 2. Vault of Medusa is similar to Regina's Vault. 3. Turning people into stone + 'serpant' motif = parallel with OUAT in Wonderland and Jafar and his staff turning Knave to Stone and back ties to Charming, King Midas (<--Grecian myth again), Abigail, and Frederick. 4. Snows desire to be able to have a family (raise her own child) might be what's in store with this upcoming curse, whether it be another child or she gets Emma-redux), but most likely they will use GG's pregnancy to their advantage. 5. Medusa could tie into Rebecca Mader's unknown character, although I suspect she's the new Villian, because we are going to see a (what-if) scenario if things wouldn't have turned out this way (alla another time line EX Felicity final 4 episodes, or Fringe season 4, or Lost's visions/time travel to/of other time lines and the flash sideways)
I agree that Snow was somewhat in the background in previous episodes of s3, but Emma has been given quite a lot of screentime. Much to my dismay, it involved mostly her feelings and interactions with Neal and Hook. But she was proclaimed "the leader" of Team Henry, her ability to use her powers was given given some attention, and her feelings of abandonment were explored. If Henry had been himself (instead of being Pan in Henry's body), then it would've been much more interesting to see Emma suspicious about Henry being "off". It would have made sense for Emma to be jealous about Henry choosing to go home with Regina, because it would have continued her "fears of abandonment" arc. She was abandoned by her parents, by Neal, by August, imagine how she would feel if she thought Henry would leave her behind too. That would've been good drama.
Instead, Regina, the lucky girl she is, had to be the one deceived by Pan in order for the "Pan enacting the Dark Curse" plot to be set in motion. :/
She may have been given a lot of screen time, but it hasn't been emotionally resonating, more over it's been to show that Regina is willing to work with her and accept her in a way that she had yet to. It was for Regina's story more than it was for Emma's Same goes for Hook and Neal, she's been more of their plot device than her own, since she refuses to really acknowledge either of their advances.
I think we see Emma accept her role, but I agree it isn't resolved (IMO it's intentionally this way). It's Regina and Rumple that have moved forwars, which IMO will be important to the new curse/reset and why Rebecca Mader will become the new Villian and it will be interesting to see "who" exists and at what age, especially with Pan thrown into the mix and if he has any control on his own placement within the curse.....
There was absolutely no indication that her thinking was "I need to protect Henry, so I need to be close to my magic". If we had seen her preparing to fight off Pan, e.g. by mixing potions or holding magical weapons, then that would have made sense. But even if her thinking has changed, why would that make her a worse strategist than she used to be?
What the hell why isn't anyone discussing the fact that they killed off the Boob Fairy for no good reason whatsoever??!! What the hell Adam and Eddy??!! That character had been around since the pilot and had never gotten a centric episode, she deserved better than that 2-second death with no reasoning given. Shame on you. Screw Rumbelle and Captain Swan and Swanfire and Swan Queen you dumb shippers, a fricking nun just died!
You're sweet, thank you. And yeah, I am up in arms about it. It's strange, I NEVER cared for the Blue Fairy (I call her Boob Fairy cos it's funny she always has that cleavage in the fairybacks and yet is a nun in the present), but then she was served that sudden, unceremonious death and I was pissed! And no one here brings it up lol. Here's hoping Tink reunites her shadow with her.
I think they have had some execution problems here and there, but I do think now being able to compare Wonderland too, that they have woven certain things together very nicely.
I think for me the problem was I had too big of expectations for Neverland to weigh more on a lot of the characters, rather than just the few: Regina, Rumple, Hook, and a little Neal...But this set up is IMO what will make the reconfiguration (what ever it will be) interesting, as we have two major villains in much better places (they won't be central antagonists), certain characters are dead (Graham, Cora, Mother Superior, Tamara, Greg) and new characters (Wendy, John, Michael, Neal, Hook, Tinkerbell, Pan, Lost boys, Tiny) and a pregnancy all added to mix..
The good thing is I think those events and concepts I really liked from season two (along with 1 and 3) will all have to be woven back in...
Well I'm wondering if Snow will be pregnant with Emma, or another child, or if Emma will be much younger and Henry doesn't exist, or Henry is just some random orphan Regina takes in?....I mean Bell and Rumple could be raising young Bealfire...and Pan (in the image of Henry?) might be an adult?! Tink is the new Mother Superior?! There are so many things they can do.
Well if the majority of the main characters are merely plot devices and have no character development for half a season, I don't see that as good writing.
As for Regina's fate, replaying the same arc (her unwittingly serving the interests of a cunning puppet-master, a male "superior") may make for an ironic parallel, but I'm starting to question the point of establishing such parallels. Anyway, you're absolutely right that Regina and Rumple may play different roles after the new curse is enacted. That storyline definitely has a lot of potential, so I only hope they use it wisely.
Ya! I'm wondering the same! But i cannot see them hiring someone to play a young Emma, then what do they do with Jennifer? Keep her in her contract, and if so for how long...it could get crazy..
I've always been partial to Henry, but i like the actor who plays Pan so much more.I think Jared is at that awkward stage.I don't know i just don't buy his Henry lately.
The flashback story was way too much filler, but it did have a couple of fun moments. I really am sick of them expanding the Snow/Charming storyline, however. In Season One, I was excited every week to see which fairy tale they were going to put a new twist on next. That element has been completely abandoned at this point; it's just more and more chapters in the stories whose endings we already know. I understand the reasoning behind focusing on the main characters, but we really, really need some new blood in this show. Let's add some more fairy tale characters in the present day and start doing some flashbacks to *their* past lives. Hopefully Rebecca Mader's mysterious villain will provide us with some good, original material.
I have to say that Jared Gilmore's acting as Pan was better than I thought it would be - though Robbie Kay nailed "Henry's" big, emotional scenes far better than Jared ever could have. Regina's gullibility where Henry was concerned was a little irritating, as it felt like a throwback to her nonsensical behavior in Season 2, but at least she acknowledged how stupid she'd been in the end.
I was also glad that they gave us all the "reunion" moments we've been waiting for. The Ariel/Eric scene was particularly touching (and funny). And the Blue Fairy's death was a startling twist. It kind of reminded me of all those unexpected deaths on Lost. I never really cared for her character, but still, it was a bit sad. The return of the Dark Curse is an interesting plot thread with a lot of potential, so long as it doesn't actually set things back to the way they were in Season One. That would be kind of pointless. Judging from the trailer for next week's ep, I'm pretty sure there will be some sort of major twist in the end. (And if anyone already knows what it is via set photos or something...please don't tell me. Thanks.)
"Well if the majority of the main characters are merely plot devices and have no character development for half a season, I don't see that as good writing."
I agree that it would have nice to see more progress with Emma and Charming in particular, but I'm starting to think that ABC wants to really milf the series and some character's journey's might be saved for the end of series...I'm hoping thought that If we some kind of similar curse, that Rumple and Regina take a little bit of a back seat so that other characters can also evolve a bit over the course of the second half of the season. -But I do think in terms of Regina and Rumple they did do a good job.
"As for Regina's fate, replaying the same arc (her unwittingly serving the interests of a cunning puppet-master, a male "superior") may make for an ironic parallel, but I'm starting to question the point of establishing such parallels."
The point would be that in fate orientated universes (and in families) history continues to repeat itself in some way...
Are you talking about the "Going Home" press release, or is there another article? -I know the press release says "The race is on to stop Pan, blah, blah, blah", but unless they used old footage in the promo, I'm pretty sure I saw both green and purple magic clouds! -But I do think there's going to be some twist on it that makes it different than last time...
Ya. It would depend on if characters could age this time as well for some reason. They could just have it be something that we view over the course of time, or only be a 3 episodes, or they could have flahsbacks to the beginnings of this new curse (Ex; something like "Welcome to Storybrooke").
I just think we need some Emma youth to get under the characters skin and/or a way to see potential of another side of her!
That's a good point! I'm sorry you're upset too, but on one hand The Blue Fairy did help create this mess and she has been so mean to other fairies (Nova, Tink) that I could see how killing her might not be a real loss, since she might be a 'mother' character that has been holding others back from being able to really progress.
I don't know if the actress has other comitments or what, but maybe there's a catch 22 (something similar to Wraith myth) with her death and maybe can come back somehow, let alone maybe fairy and/or fairy-shadow deaths are special cases??????
"I have to say that Jared Gilmore's acting as Pan was better than I thought it would be - though Robbie Kay nailed "Henry's" big, emotional scenes far better than Jared ever could have. "
I agree. I don't think JG is a bad actor, as much as the character he is playing is often used as a plot device and he is playing someone who's a little naive and innocent and thus he doesn't have a lot of meat (although he always reminds me SO much of MM/Snow) RK just happens to be a great actor, but he also has a lot of interesting material.
Yep,that press release. It says they are trying to stop Pan before he unleashes the curse that could kill everyone... In the promo from last night all i saw was the purple clouds. Now i'm going to look at it again, maybe i missed it the 1st time around.
Very true. If Jared had better material to work with, I really think his acting would improve. He was stronger in Season One because his character had more interesting stuff to do. If the writers are smart, they'll stop using him as a MacGuffin in Season 3.5 and start having him take a more active role in the story, making his own decisions instead of being a pawn in somebody else's game.
Back to a curse, and not even 'a' curse, but the exact same one than the first season? Are the writers already out of ideas? I was getting bored all season with the storyline storyarc and didn't find much appealing at the whole 'find and save Henry'' stuff. I was really glad to have them come back and had lot of hopes for the second part of the season....and it's gone.
I'll stick around for couple of more episodes, hoping it won't work.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
That was great! I love that they figured it out pretty quickly that Henry wasn't himself. Aw at Snow being worried about Regina at the end (even though she shouldn't).

Not quite as good as last week's, but still strong. The flashbacks didn't add much to anything, but the Storybrooke story moved along well.

ReplyDeleteIf Henry gets stuck in Pan's body forever, I'll be ecstatic. Henry is so much easier to like when another actor is playing him.
ReplyDeleteI think Ginnifer and Lana have both said that Snow and Regina do still love each other.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Star Wars comparison. Hahaha. Ingenius.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that.
Thanks again! :)
ReplyDeleteMore than awesome, as usual!
ReplyDeleteHe didn't invite her into his room, he offered her a drink...
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, jealous Emma was cute :D
Agreed, I always considered that deep inside Snow still sees the Regina that saved her from the horse and Regina sees in Snow that she {Regina} was once a good person and that she could still be that girl.
ReplyDeleteAgree to all your points. Although I felt it was a little bit weird when Regina hugged Henry in Pan's body - after all, she took a heart out of that body.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the episode! Wow, we had so much actual conversations and interacting between all characters, it felt somehow fresh.
ReplyDeleteThe new curse storyline is exiting, can't wait for next week!
I know! Like everyone hugged Pan like nothing happened. I was expecting a bit of reserved judgment. But I guess they had to resolve that as soon as possible. And for me, it's not really rushed out.
ReplyDeleteSince the beginning of season 2 this show has been floundering and just god awful for the most part.I think we had a handful of quality episodes, but nothing like the first season. I can't begin to tell you how frustrated i have been with the lazy writing, and bad storylines.
ReplyDeleteI welcome the curse, its almost like having a re-do wiping the slate clean.Maybe this time they won't screw up,at least until the curse is broken once again.
Yeah that makes sense!! That prophecy thing ain't going to go away so quick Rumple and Belle haha
ReplyDeleteBut now with the curse MM goes back to being a teacher,a single teacher at that. So i wonder how they will address that?
ReplyDeleteNo, he dated and had sex with dr Whale. That's all.
ReplyDeleteUnless the curse doesn't get reset, but if it does...than yeah MM has some explaining to do!
ReplyDeleteNote: If anyone knows for sure how this curse thing will get resolved don't tell me please! I've been trying to avoid major spoilers :)
Well,we know by next weeks promo some kind of curse is coming.I hope its a reset, maybe then the writers could right some of there screw ups! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks,i couldn't remember who it was!
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm pretty happy with how things have been going. I hope there isn't a curse reset, but if there is it'll be interesting to see how they deal with it. Especially if Emma is no longer the saviour :O
ReplyDeleteAs I wrote earlier, it's not the fact that she didn't notice something was off that I find unrealistic. On the contrary, Regina has always ignored reality whenever it was too painful for her to accept it - choosing to blame Snow, instead of Cora, for Daniel's murder, is a classic example of that.
ReplyDeleteBut her actions were illogical.
For me neither - it just seemed weird :P
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it's not what we think since it might be like a curse on top of a curse (or at least on top of magic)...I kind of hope it reconfigured to look like FTL and that they now have a life that looks like there never was curse, but yet they are still with in The Land Without Magic...
ReplyDeleteI just think if we go back to another version of Storybrook, it might be too repetitive...
ReplyDeletePlus I think this is about to get all rearranged again.
ReplyDeleteI think the flashback will be more important later...
ReplyDelete1. Grecian Myth is thematic: Peter "Pan", "Pan-dora's Box", Medusa)
ReplyDeleteIf Henry had been himself (instead of being Pan in Henry's body), then it would've been much more interesting to see Emma suspicious about Henry being "off".
ReplyDeleteI think we see Emma accept her role, but I agree it isn't resolved (IMO it's intentionally this way).
ReplyDeleteBut even if her thinking has changed, why would that make her a worse strategist than she used to be?
"But even if her thinking has changed, why would that make her a worse strategist than she used to be?"
ReplyDeleteBecause when you care and/or become over emotional (she feeling things she hasn't in a long time) is sometimes when you make the bigger mistakes...
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't like she was a core character, and i somehow have the feeling she will be back. I'm sorry you are upset about her death.
ReplyDeleteYou're sweet, thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh! I never thought of them turning into children, that could be interesting!
ReplyDeleteI think they have had some execution problems here and there, but I do think now being able to compare Wonderland too, that they have woven certain things together very nicely.
ReplyDeleteI think for me the problem was I had too big of expectations for Neverland to weigh more on a lot of the characters, rather than just the few: Regina, Rumple, Hook, and a little Neal...But this set up is IMO what will make the reconfiguration (what ever it will be) interesting, as we have two major villains in much better places (they won't be central antagonists), certain characters are dead (Graham, Cora, Mother Superior, Tamara, Greg) and new characters (Wendy, John, Michael, Neal, Hook, Tinkerbell, Pan, Lost boys, Tiny) and a pregnancy all added to mix..
The good thing is I think those events and concepts I really liked from season two (along with 1 and 3) will all have to be woven back in...
It was nice seeing the different characters interact with each other, especially David/Emma. We need more of them together.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm wondering if Snow will be pregnant with Emma, or another child, or if Emma will be much younger and Henry doesn't exist, or Henry is just some random orphan Regina takes in?....I mean Bell and Rumple could be raising young Bealfire...and Pan (in the image of Henry?) might be an adult?! Tink is the new Mother Superior?! There are so many things they can do.
ReplyDeleteWell if the majority of the main characters are merely plot devices and have no character development for half a season, I don't see that as good writing.
ReplyDeleteAs for Regina's fate, replaying the same arc (her unwittingly serving the interests of a cunning puppet-master, a male "superior") may make for an ironic parallel, but I'm starting to question the point of establishing such parallels.
Anyway, you're absolutely right that Regina and Rumple may play different roles after the new curse is enacted. That storyline definitely has a lot of potential, so I only hope they use it wisely.
If you haven't read the press release that was posted, go check out who is listed as a guest star!
ReplyDeleteOMG awesome! :D Here's hoping she doesn't just play a corpse. xD
ReplyDeleteYa! I'm wondering the same! But i cannot see them hiring someone to play a young Emma, then what do they do with Jennifer? Keep her in her contract, and if so for how long...it could get crazy..
ReplyDeleteI've always been partial to Henry, but i like the actor who plays Pan so much more.I think Jared is at that awkward stage.I don't know i just don't buy his Henry lately.
Corpse,lol...that didn't even cross my mind!..Hope not! :)
ReplyDeleteYep,i agree,it hasn't been a total bust.I didn't mean it to come off that way. :P
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the new post that was just posted i'm not sure if they will even get cursed,or not the curse we are thinking of..
OUAT episodes are full of flashbacks, so it's common to see dead characters in later episodes...
ReplyDeleteYep,they sure are.
ReplyDeleteThe flashback story was way too much filler, but it did have a couple of fun moments.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that Jared Gilmore's acting as Pan was better than I thought it would be - though Robbie Kay nailed "Henry's" big, emotional scenes far better than Jared ever could have.
Thanks.)
No, I'm pretty sure with the new curse, they'll get sent back to the Enchanted Forest, but could be wrong.
ReplyDelete"Well if the majority of the main characters are merely plot devices and have no character development for half a season, I don't see that as good writing."
ReplyDeleteI agree that it would have nice to see more progress with Emma and Charming in particular, but I'm starting to think that ABC wants to really milf the series and some character's journey's might be saved for the end of series...I'm hoping thought that If we some kind of similar curse, that Rumple and Regina take a little bit of a back seat so that other characters can also evolve a bit over the course of the second half of the season.
ReplyDeleteYa. It would depend on if characters could age this time as well for some reason. They could just have it be something that we view over the course of time, or only be a 3 episodes, or they could have flahsbacks to the beginnings of this new curse (Ex; something like "Welcome to Storybrooke").
ReplyDeleteI just think we need some Emma youth to get under the characters skin and/or a way to see potential of another side of her!
That's what I am thinking too!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point! I'm sorry you're upset too, but on one hand The Blue Fairy did help create this mess and she has been so mean to other fairies (Nova, Tink) that I could see how killing her might not be a real loss, since she might be a 'mother' character that has been holding others back from being able to really progress.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the actress has other comitments or what, but maybe there's a catch 22 (something similar to Wraith myth) with her death and maybe can come back somehow, let alone maybe fairy and/or fairy-shadow deaths are special cases??????
"I have to say that Jared Gilmore's acting as Pan was better than I thought it would be - though Robbie Kay nailed "Henry's" big, emotional scenes far better than Jared ever could have. "
ReplyDeleteI agree.
No,i think your right!
ReplyDeleteYep,that press release. It says they are trying to stop Pan before he unleashes the curse that could kill everyone...
ReplyDeleteIn the promo from last night all i saw was the purple clouds.
ReplyDeleteBack to a curse, and not even 'a' curse, but the exact same one than the first season? Are the writers already out of ideas? I was getting bored all season with the storyline storyarc and didn't find much appealing at the whole 'find and save Henry'' stuff. I was really glad to have them come back and had lot of hopes for the second part of the season....and it's gone.
ReplyDeleteI'll stick around for couple of more episodes, hoping it won't work.
