I loved. What a great, fun episode! I loved all the Lisbon and Jane scenes, they are going to get into so much trouble together! Lisbon revealing all the time on her hands, meaning all the time she thought about Jane. Hahahaha. We are definately going to get a kiss for the finale in May!
The case was a little convoluted and I did not need to see reinacted scenes waste of time. Drop it. Lisbon underatanding Jane doesn't care what she wants yet reneging ..what a miss. She better not complain you forced me. Her choice because he let it go.
Did anyone notice Kim was fine with Jane strangling RJ? I like that she is law and responsible but very different than Lisbon. More flexible and less black white. Thank god. I didn't want her shrilly yelling Jane every 5 minutes. She mostly knows the way Jane works on the first day and if she understands Jane is a chameleon as Cho said and works with him she will get the hang. She may come to know his tricks beforehand.
Jane deciding how long he works neat trick it can be end of season 6 or 7. Say Kim as undercov from the start is a big jump. Jane saw the real Kim like Kim saw the real Jane ...aha I knew it. Jane knows a fake.
The closing scene god, Lisbon is a overindulgent mom to Jane literally and figuratively. I just could never imagine them kissing. Good thing Jane has a option in Kim... if the writers keep continuing it in character.
I really enjoyed this episode! I loved all the Jane and Lisbon scenes, especially the end with the socks!! It was so cute. Also loved Cho trying to explain why was nicknamed Coyote. :)
Mixed thoughts about it. I really liked the interaction between the two main characters and, have to say, the facewash has favoured the show a lot. However there is something that doesn't really work well with this new scenario; Lisbon.
Teresa Lisbon has always been written as a weak character (in her emotional, personal life), with a stronger position than Jane, work-pyramid wise. She built a bond with PJ based on two factors, blind trust, and solid limits. Lisbon's arch as a character goes around those things mainly, bending her strict moral code for Jane as the Red John arch ends.
This part of the season strenghtens the trust part of their relationship, but completely erases Lisbon's superiority over Jane in work, and this prevents her from having a dominant role over him, which is what gave us the idea of she being a good cop.
All this is a rationale for a very strange feeling I had tonight when Lisbon said to Fisher "I'm an officer of the law", it somehow felt like an empty, void line. I really doubt that, as outlined tonight, Lisbon will be a proper partner to Jane. Her character was meant to be the boss. We're getting the wife instead, someone who could hardly say no to anything Jane wants, and that weakens more and more Lisbon's role. At some point Kim Fischer felt more Lisbon than Lisbon herself!
So, as I said, mixed feelings, I enjoyed a lot what i saw, but some traffic lights went yellow in my head, claiming for attention. Emocionally perfect episode. Rationally, there might be some things to work out better.
Loved it. I agree with the poster who mentioned that it was a little convoluted, but it was a welcome change to see Jane dealing with something that wasn't Red John-related, I'd also like to see Lisbon become less of Jane's "sidekick".and babysitter, and become a valuable asset to the FBI based on her own accomplishments,. .
Enjoying the reboot. Hope it's not too late from a ratings perspective, but fear it is. Liked the case and that I didn't figure out in the first 20 minutes and that it didn't start with a dead body. Little surprised that they have Agent Fischer showing a crush already.
I get what you're saying but I was actually very pleased to see her offer something on a case that Jane didn't know / have all figured out. The last few seasons seemed like Jane solving all the cases and the team just there following along.
It was pretty obvious that Kim has feelings for Jane, that's why she asked Lisbon if she and Jane had a thing. She's worried about the 'competition' *rolls eyes*
Excellent. I loved the way Jane played the FBI. He got his demands in the end. It was sweet that Lisbon gave him socks. I wonder if it was because people on facebook have been complaining about his lack of socks. I think sockless on him looks cute. I love this show.
So, Van pelt and Rigsby are done? I knew it can't be possible to write them longer. I could see one scene in a few episodes later pertaining to their ending but last episode showed the couple wrapped up. I am happy because they would have felt off in the new offices. They can say they still freelance for FBI however unrealistic it is off screen.
I'm loving the new scenario but I think I'm suposed to like Jane and Kim's love-hate relationship and I seriously don't. Maybe it has something to do with the actress, I'm just not sold on her acting skills. It's either that or they want people to hate her, in which case they're doing a pretty good job.
Great Episode. - Jane writes his name with yellow paint on the street and some noob in the FBi find him via Satellite - Jane finish his Hotdog even when he had to lay down to get arrested.
- Agent Fisher gives the Agent a note in his file for losing Jane. The Cho tells her, that she lost him too. So she also get a note in her file. Go Cho! - Lisbon suprises with precise details and facts. Makes her quick-witted and more present. I like that. - Agent Kim asks Lisbon if she got involved with Jane. Akward situation for both :-D - Lisbons gift - a pair of socks. And his reaction.
Besides the socks, i would like to see that Jane get a refresh on his clothing. Come on still the same shoes. And still sleeping in his clothes. This makes him so taddy. I would like to see him dress a litte more casual now. How about Jeans and Jacket. Still would look decent for the job.
Don't agree. I think Fisher was just impressed by the incredible chemistry Jane and Lisbon have, as if they had been a couple in the past, that's why she asked. She was just curious.
First of all, I loved it! But I have to ask: When did Jane & Lisbon got so cute together? With the constant smiling and all? It makes it hard not to root for them at this point! ;)
These two post 'Red John' episodes feel like a breath of fresh air. I'm enjoying the pacing and the way Jane is learning to enjoy himself without a ghost hanging over his head, as it were. Also really liking the power-play between Abbot and Jane, as well as the way Abbot doesn't let his personal feelings cloud his perception of Jane as an asset. He's not happy about it and he won't let Jane walk over him completely. I just hope the writers can keep up such a fine balancing act.
Also may have fist-bumped the air when Lisbon started showing her competence as an individual to the FBI. It's always been there, but it sometimes gets overshadowed by Jane's brilliance. I also liked the fact that she admitted to Jane that she was bored at her old job the way he had called out earlier on - but she also stuck up for herself by telling him that it wasn't his right to tell her so. Only she could make a decision for herself and though some people may see it as wishy-washy I think it's an important distinction to make. Jane has a powerful personality and can be too controlling for his own good at times. Lisbon is right to take him down a peg or two, especially when it comes to him trying to make things 'better' for her without her consent.
I love the fact that humor has returned full force to the show. I loathed all the darkness in Season 5. Jane was an ass and treated Lisbon and his CBI family with such callous. Now Jane is coming to realize what is important to his future. I'm really enjoying Mentalist 2.0
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This episode was awesome! I can't believe some people thought otherwise but I guess they're entitled to their own opinion. Loved it!

ReplyDeleteYou're righ and also I think Lisbon's the only one that can keep Patric at least a little bit in check.
ReplyDeleteDon't be surprised when Lisbon ends up in charge. She just seems lost following others around.
ReplyDeleteWow, this last scene. The show is back, baby!
ReplyDeleteGreat Episode.

They really were. And the chemistry in that last scene. Definitely rooting for them.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting way of looking at it. Didn't think it that way. Cool suggestion :)
ReplyDeleteYeah CBS , bring some love triangle as CW always do :) ( Joking ^^ )
ReplyDeleteThey will come back on 6x11 episode apparently.
ReplyDeletedefenitly so cute!
ReplyDeleteMaybe now that the burden of Red John is off Jane's shoulders he feels more free to be with Lisbon the way he always wanted.
ReplyDeleteAw thank you :D
ReplyDeleteIs there a promo for 6x11? Will Rigsby & Van Pelt be back next year?
ReplyDeleteawsome! and i mean who really cared about the case? i didnt. i was all jisbon.
