Officially confused! When I asked last time, people seemed absolutely certain Kenzi and Dyson slept together. However, in this episode Kenzi worked herself up that much to confess that she kissed him? That doesn't add up. Why have so much trouble confessing something like that and only tell Bo she kissed him if they had taken things further than that? Did I miss something? I was cooking at the time and missed some stuff.
I don't know, I think the assumption that Kenzi and Dyson slept together is wrong.
Idk for sure either but i think you're right. Personally i never assumed that Kenzi and Dyson slept together and that they only kissed.(yes, the other stuff could have happened off screen but idk it was never really implied....at least imo)
If you want to rewatch it just google for 'the darewall' and look under tv and movie section for Lost Girl. ;)
Holy sh*t, THAT's the Lost Girl I love and missed! Yay to Kenzi showing her frustrations, yay to vulnerable/all powerful Tamsin, yay to sweet and caring Dyson, yay to badass Bo, DOUBLE yay to that ringside sex! Hot, hot, hot!
I wonder if more time lapsed for Bo than we was shown after her departure, as I'm sure she didn't choose Dark from what the writers have shown us so far this season, as that bit with Kenzi having to let her indicates that.
Loved that karma-metaphor in lauren's plotline. hopefully Crystal survives this and continues being in the plot. the actress is way pretty and with her Lauren got the MOST character development in all of the show so far.
Kenzi certainly has abandonment and powerlessness issues. And Dyson plotline is clearly not ended yet so that will go to interesting lengths too.
And then the tamsin plotline. And that valkubus hug. And that's what love feels like.
THis episode was just all around filled with awesome emotional moments.
Except that unless its shipper bias that is talking, this was the most in-character episode of the whole show, as EVERY single character got a moment to shine and a moment that defined WHO they are as a person.
sorry I assumed so, but it I think this Episode proved me wrong. But those to have chemistry, I mean wen Dyson and Kensi were talking by the bed - there was so much chemistry there. Don't get me wrong, I want them to just be friends. But the cheimstry is just there.
Looks like the show's finally getting its mojo back! :)
- It goes without saying that I loved the gratuitous fan service (ring scene, Tamsin/Bo/Dyson at the police station, Dyson/Tamsin, Bo/Tamsin). Bonus points for the bar dancing and singing along to Spice Girls! :D
- Lauren's finally getting some sort of a backstory - I only hope she stays away from Bo&co until it plays out (because frankly I'm over the angsty love triangle). - Bo/Dyson are back to their s1 fun dynamic! :) But apparently they're just friends with benefits? Poor Dyson. :( It seemed like he's still in love with Bo, but she's using him as a place holder for Lauren. Still, she got jealous over Kenzi's confession & I guess doesn't want anyone else to have him? Hmmm... - Kenzi/Bo - I'm so glad their confrontation wasn't dragged out and turned into a melodrama. It was handled quite well, imo. - Bo/Tamsin - well their scenes just revisited what was established in the previous season. Tamsin has a huge girl crush on Bo, and Bo is fascinated by Tamsin. Although I like their dynamic much more than Bo/Lauren, I still think it would be a little too much for Bo to fall in love with Tamsin, especially at this point in time. Being in love with two people is possible, but being in love with three...that's just greedy, lol. :D - Dyson/Tamsin - I have no idea why fans don't ship them. I absolutely love them together! They have such great chemistry and a great deal of playfulness, even though it's not necessarily a romantic relationship. Tamsin asking Dyson about Bo was hilarious and him telling her a bedtime story was just precious. :)
Favourite dialogue: Dyson: "If you wanna unwind later, we could...uh..." [looks at Tamsin]
Bo: "...go shopping."
Dyson: "Go shopping, yeah." Bo: "Well, if you're good, you can go in all the stores." Dyson: "Well, if you're good, I'll max out all your credit cards... Twice." Tamsin: "Can I come?"
I get the impression this season isn't going to have a set relationship. At least not for a while. Don't be surprised if Bo doesn't get it on with all three of the ships.
I don't think who you ship for has anything to do with it. I just think there has been a lot of character development this season, more so than the last three put together and its hard for some to keep up with it. Bo being away has really allowed Dyson and Kenzi to develop. Bo has always had an element of dark fae about her and the abduction seems to have really bulled her up. As for Lauren I thought she was pretty much her usual self but we just know more about her. It's nice to see her interacting away from Bo (says the Doccubus fan lol) because her character was always so interlinked with Bo's and no one else that her only real plot line was their relationship (even Nadia was about drama for her and Bo). I think the writers are making this season pretty interesting.
I don't think it has anything to do with shipper bias. I think there has been a lot of character development this season which can be hard to keep up with. I think Kenzi and Dyson have developed and changed whilst Bo was away (for the better because they are feeling more 3 dimensional now). Bo has always had a bit of the dark fae about her but the abduction has really bulled her up. Lauren was pretty much her normal self but with more back story. It's also nice to see her on her own (says the Doccubus fan) because her story was all about Bo for the past 3 seasons. Good to see her stand up on her own two feet. Has anyone else noticed though that Lauren has done a lot and had a lot of experience for someone her age though? Her back story s becoming a bit OTT. Terrorist, Afghan, the Congo.....when exactly did she fit medical school etc into all of this?
And having no memory of Bo or Bo's relationship with Dyson. Plus, Kenzi took on Bo's role in her removal. She wasn't just gone. She was magically removed and replaced.
I've been waiting since that Kenzi took Geraldine in Season 1 to see a full human trained Kenzi!!! Go Dyson, teach her! There is no need to have Fae powers to rock! Look at Lara Croft or Batman :D
I agree about their chemistry. Dyson tends to have chemistry with everyone, but to me, nothing tops his chemistry with Kenzi. I'm surprised that the writers keep dismissing it.
I think she's being more herself than she used to be. She's still good, but no longer fighting to suppress the darkness inside her. It makes her stronger and more of a bad ass :-p
Exactly what I was thinking! There definitely was a smirk :-) The way she acted throughout the episode, it's very Dark Fae. She's still good though, but more bad ass.
Except that apart from wearing Bo's clothes, her role did not change. She WAS the "sexy fae PI" for at least two seasons now. In fact since mid S2 she was THE ONLY "sexy fae PI" in the cast.
She grew out of comic relief mid S1 already.
The show simply showcased who Kenzi could be without Bo there, but the price, emotionally, was too great for her.
Kenzi did both. She got to experience what it she could do without Bo but also she also took Bo's place in other people's minds, like Dyson. It's a bit like the statue switch in Indiana Jones. The weight he put in place of the statue was it's own object and given a place of prominence but it also was needed to replace what was taken. Kenzi feels guilty because she's Kenzi, not because she actually has antyhing to feel guilty about, regardless of how one looks at the spell.
There could still be problems given Lauren is owned/claimed by the light. Tamsin or Vex are her only "legal" options. Her alignment could also affect Kenzi, Dyson may not be able to train her as promised and Hale may not be able to date her.
This may push Bo to force the Fae into abolishing the light/dark system
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I thought it was weird that Kenzi didn't add "We had both lost our memories and didn't know you existed" because that would have excused the kiss.
ReplyDeleteLoved teen Tasmin haha x-files that was awesome
ReplyDeletedid they change the screenwriters? everyone is acting so out of character...
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode! I LOVE the new Bo !!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the Valkubus ship doesn't need to sail. It freaking FLIES!
ReplyDeleteLove Lauren badass, Benzi and doccubus feels.
ReplyDeleteHoly sh*t, THAT's the Lost Girl I love and missed! Yay to Kenzi showing her frustrations, yay to vulnerable/all powerful Tamsin, yay to sweet and caring Dyson, yay to badass Bo, DOUBLE yay to that ringside sex! Hot, hot, hot!

ReplyDeleteOk. This episode was much much better than the previous one! but I think the characters are... acting off @_@ or is it just me...
ReplyDeleterating 9/10
Score: - 1 for Lauren's confession / sharing of her past to Crystal but not to Bo :(((((
Not really because it still happened. That's why Kenzi feels guilty - if the onlyt hing that changed was Bo not being there, then why did that happen.
ReplyDeleteOr Kenzi did not tell everything yet.
ReplyDeleteBRILLIANT episode.

Did you see that smirk after Masimo burned himself? DOn't be so sure.
ReplyDeleteanyone know when this will air in the US?

Amazing episode!! Season 4 now really had start!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I MISS YOU SO MUCH TAM TAM <3
The Wings!! <3 omg, i read one spoiler in twitter about the Wings, and i'm so happy that the spoiler was really true!
and so much Valkubus feels in this episode <3
Kenzi and Bo scenes were amazing too!
ans omg..the plot twist: Bo is dark fae. How awesome is that? I can think in a million possibilities on this show right now! I'm so excited!!
I get the impression this season isn't going to have a set relationship. At least not for a while. Don't be surprised if Bo doesn't get it on with all three of the ships.

ReplyDeleteBeing in love with two people is pretty greedy on its own to be fair :-p
ReplyDeleteAnd having no memory of Bo or Bo's relationship with Dyson. Plus, Kenzi took on Bo's role in her removal. She wasn't just gone. She was magically removed and replaced.
ReplyDeleteBo is going dark. She is not herself. She is intentionally OOC and that changes the relationships and interactions.
ReplyDeleteI think Kenzi has always been 3 dimensional. But I do agree, Lauren/Karen's backstory is absurd at this point.
ReplyDeletei loooooooooooved Tamsin with wings. so cool.
ReplyDeleteDon't start pulling out bs that was not stated in the show.
ReplyDeleteNo one was replaced. She was simply removed from their memories.
Kenzi became the sexy fae PI. That's Bo's role. She wore Bo's clothes. She slept in Bo's bed. It was in the show.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting since that Kenzi took Geraldine in Season 1 to see a full human trained Kenzi!!! Go Dyson, teach her! There is no need to have Fae powers to rock! Look at Lara Croft or Batman :D

ReplyDeleteI agree about their chemistry. Dyson tends to have chemistry with everyone, but to me, nothing tops his chemistry with Kenzi. I'm surprised that the writers keep dismissing it.

ReplyDeleteLOL! Dialog-wise, I also loved:
ReplyDeleteKenzi: look, you okay over there?
Bo: Oh yeah. Just hanging out in my ex's apartment. Finding weird shit. I'm fine!
I don't believe they are dismissing it at all or they would not have addressd this at all. They are just sticking on the triangle.
ReplyDeleteExcept that apart from wearing Bo's clothes, her role did not change. She WAS the "sexy fae PI" for at least two seasons now. In fact since mid S2 she was THE ONLY "sexy fae PI" in the cast.

That's quite an assumption that it was Doccubus fans! I'm sure not every non-Doccubus fan loved the episode.
ReplyDelete
