  1. This episode did not disappoint! It gave me chills and I did need a tissue or two at the end! Wonderful story, fantastic direction and set design, haunting sound track, incredible guest acting by James Saito - give that man an Emmy! Alex O showed such respect and reverence in his performance tonight - I'd give him and Emmy, too! Kudos to cast and crew for a superb job! This will go down as possibly the very best episode of the series.

  4. Loved the episode. I don't get how anyone could have voted poor or awful. There was so much in this episode from an historical point of view and from an emotional story point of view. Plus the connection for Steve and his grandfather was wonderful.

  5. Wow, that was absolutely amazing and I loved it. So emotional.

And I'm also glad they talked about the internment camps - not many people know about them and it is absolutely horrific what happened.

Definitely one of the best episodes of the show.

  6. Without any exageration, best episode of the show and probably in the top 3, if not #1 of the TV show history
Before H50 I had a HUGE obsession abt Lost and for me the serie's finale was so far the best episode of ALL the shows I watch/watched - but this episode of H50 got a higher level and is right now my fav episode of all I ever watched
--- the acting was AMAZING - Alex and James did brilliantly and kudos to them ! much respect and emotion shared by them in every scene - got goosebumps - freacking great
--- the story wow - just wow, outside the amazing emotional side, this historical overview we got is amazing !
Living in France, I never heard about Pearl Harbor before, we have other subject in history and civilisation lessons and we never talked abt it - I did know some things because I love US history and had to chance to get interested by this and knew some little things - I was impressed by the whole story between Japonese and American and now, thanks to this episode, I know much more what it was, and how this affects Hawaii and the local population.
Kudos to Peter and to the writing team to have developed this amazing story, and to have honored those real heroes, those real people who fought for US freedom and for the world's ones
I have even more respect and admiration for Peter and the team, they do don't just a show to please and to make us laugh - but it's a show that focused on the cultural and historical aspect of Hawaii, and of the USA and honored those heroes
H50 is released in a lot of countries, all over the world, and this in another reason to be proud of this episode : thousands of countries will release this episode, and all the fans will be able to know more about a part of the world history - THANK YOU TO ALL !
--- The filming and direction was AMAZING !!!! Larry did a great job, like he does all the time lol - amazing, views were great, love the close-up on Steve's face .... during emotional scenes, wide views during action and Pearl Harbor Memorial ....
--- the action WOW ! kudos to Jeff and his team for the amazing action packed scenes ! movie-like quality, that was beyong incredible - breathtaking just WOW !

thank you thank you thank you ... all is said is those 2 words :)

  7. I sat with my tissues ready from the start and well, I sure did need them. I teared up several times before the end when I was full out sobbing. Congrats to everyone involved in this wonderful episode. The writing, directing, acting, cinematography, music....EVERYTHING was just perfect. I agree...if this episode isn't on several final lists for an Emmy there is something seriously wrong with the system.

  8. My family had to pause this show multiple times because we were crying. My dad was raised by his great aunt who lived during this time in California and she was there when her Japanese-American friends and co-workers were taken out of the store she worked in. She remembered them crying and confused and pleading and she told those stories to my dad who in turn told my sister and me.
This was a terrific episode and I feel it honors all those who fought and died in the war and all those who were unjustly imprisoned. We made mistakes in the past. Big mistakes. Mostly because we were scared and foolish. I just hope that nothing like this ever, EVER, happens again.

  9. This
is one of the best episodes in ages---probably the best episode of the series. So well done, a happy ending and a
history lesson too. So respectful of the Pearl Harbor story and
Japanese Internment experience. We let our kids watch it too and had
    good discussions around it.
