any non-spoiler stuff you can say about episode?

  3. There are some great Barry Allen and Felicity moments throughout the episode

    ReplyDelete
  4. God that was good!!! And i wasn't disappointed in Barry's introduction. Not at all. He made me laugh. And that cliffhanger, whattt his dreams just came true. Lol Loved Moira getting a backbone towards Malcolm, and it's about time they mentioned his name!!! Ra's Al Ghul bitches!! What what!!! I liked that. Way to go Moira! Felicity was great tonight, as was Roy. I laughed so hard when Ollie struck him with the arrow. Slow him down indeed. And "I don't like Oliver" Where the hell did that LIE come from? lol yeah ok Felicity, w/e u need to tell yourself. I did like her dance with Barry, but i cracked up when they played THAT song. Like really?? This wasn't love at first sight...A lot of good quotes this episode. "He did lie about who he really was" "And what do we do everyday" "Time for a dance?" 'I don't want to dance with you right now Oliver" "I know that's why i brought him" "I tried to warn you." "I tried to ignore you." Ohh burnnn!! LOL That's right Ollie treat that woman like the she-devil she is. I enjoyed the back story with Slade, and i'm thinking this could be Slade now...but i could be wrong. Loved Oliver's reaction towards Felicity and Barry btw, he either pulled her aside or ignored her feels til the end. Then the apology with the "Sorry i overreacted." Hmm wonder why that was. Hehe... No Laurel again...that was a plus. Hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  5. loved felicity and barry together and things got pretty much mixed up tonight :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. I practically never vote 'awesome' for an episode, but I did now. This was great. Not only was there barely a note wrong, but Oliver showed real maturity, both in arranging the party and his reaction to very few people being there, and in calling Barry to invite him for Felicity.

Roy: "I have friends who can help me".

Oliver, thinking of Thea, shoots him.

Hmmmm, I wonder what the history between Moira and Isabel is.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Agree on almost all points! I didn't even notice that Laurel was missing LOL

And there were lots of great quotes tonight! "I could use a better-looking crutch." YEah, I LOL'ed at that one. There were a bunch of other scenes too I just can't think of them right now cuz I'm still sort of hyperventilating lol

  8. Awesome episode!

I am sold on Grant Gustin as Barry Allen. He was fantastic and I am definitely going to watch the Flash show now if it gets picked up.

I love the dynamic between Felicity and Barry. They bounced off each other so well.

LOL at Barry when he said "I'm just not too good on my feet." Good job, Arrow.

I don't believe for a second that Slade is actually dead. He is going to come back but the question is how. I just really hope he is not evil when he does.

And props to Moira for finally standing up for herself again Malcolm! That was amazing. Also, Ra's Al Ghul and Nanda Parbat mentions!!!

And woah at the end! I can't wait to see how this will play out next week. Can't believe it's already the mid season finale.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ya I agree, Slade isn't dead. Because i'm pretty sure when Oliver and Sarah were talking in an episode he was brought up like he was still living.

I just wish they would bring Slade/Deathstroke to the present day already.

    ReplyDelete
  10. That cliffhanger and not even over yet!!! Ready to see Deathstroke in the present day! Felicity and Barry would make a perfect couple.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I really think the show should kill or write off Laurel. It just seems like episodes kind of drag when she is given moderate to heavy screen time and some of the time her stuff just seems forced into the episode because she's a regular.

This episode should really be exhibit A to the show runners and writers that this show is that much better when it's Laurel free.

They need to do the right thing and write Katie Cassidy out and bring Caty Loitz in full time next season.

  13. Agreed about finally wanting to see Deathstroke in present day. Hopefully the whole miracle drug was the start of that.

    ReplyDelete
  14. IIRC, Sara asked Oliver "what happened to Slade and Shado?", meaning that Slade was alive when Sara left the island/them. Oliver did say though that everyone who took the serum is dead, so while Slade isn't dead yet, Oliver at least believes that he is dead by present-day.

    ReplyDelete
  15. LMAO!!! Yeah that crutch line made me LOL so hard....You know what's funny? I didn't realize Laurel wasn't in it til AFTER the episode finished. Hahaha Right when they were showing the promo for next week, i said Oh shit! Again she wasn't in it!! Yesss!!! Lmao....They should go all the way and make it three in a row. lol We can wait til Jan. to see her face again.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I also think Slade will live, then Oliver will be the one to kill him when the time comes. Ever since I saw his mask on the island, that's how I always thought things will go/went down.

    ReplyDelete
  17. "I really think the show should kill or write off Laurel" LMFAO!!!! That was funny. Whoo, i had to gasp for breath. lol Idk about that. I mean we all know it won't happen. Since she has the role of potentially being BC and being Oliver's one and only true love (rolls eyes!) But ugh!! I can't stand her!! I can't with her doe eyes, and skinny face, and every time she talks, she criesssss. Ugh!!! It's exhausting!! I really really really wanted to like her. But c'mon this is season 2, if i didn't like her early in season 1, it just ain't happening!! And it bothers me b/c she is suppose to be BC, (and i love her in the DC universe) and yet i hate her guts. Smh it's a real shame. TBH...ANYWAYS, i would cool with that. Caity being F/T. I do love seeing her. And i hope she'll return soon, in the present.

I wonder if Brother Blood will be defeat by next week or post christmas the storyline will continue?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think Brother Blood's story arc will continue throughout the season

    ReplyDelete
  20. what an amazing episode it had everything, Barry`s introduction didnt dissapoint He is a great Add even if it just for this two episodes, Felicity and Him just get along really well, finishing each other sentences while talking to Oliver was great, the writting also was great one part that stands out was "I'm just not too good on my feet." LOL Writters we know what you did there!

Moira mentioning Ra's Al Ghul makes me wonder in what situation they are going to bring him in, i cant wait to see that storylien coming to life, also Brother Bloos is a really interesting one i hope he just dont get killed next week episode cause it`s going to be a little bit too fast for me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'll say it was!! I can't waitttt to see him! It's gonna be so badass!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I only have one concern: Barry Allen is too young. Besides that, another good episode!

... oh and I didn't miss Laurel at all. It felt good to not have her depression sprinkled throughout this episode. We needed a break from that ridiculous family drama.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I hope the serum isn't to blame for Slade becoming Oliver's enemy. Slade waking up angry and evil would feel kind of cheap and just make me feel sorry for Slade.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Also I know it wasn't much but i'm glad they actually went with Barry's mother being killed by Professor Zoom and his father going for away for it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I didn't realize she wasn't in it until I read you comments LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. LOL nice! That's how i was last episode. I didn't realize she wasn't in the episode til someone commented on it. lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well i think in the comics Isabel loved Robert Queen, maybe in this series she was his lover

    ReplyDelete
  28. Really nice episode. Grant Gustin should get a lot of credit. He played his part really well. I never expected it would be so good. He got us happy and smiling in all his scenes. It was just a feel good performance. He's smart-no doubt. The island scenes were awesome. Parellel to the present day events. Oliver and Felicity and Diggle were excellent. Diggle was funny with his one liners for sure. Moira rubbing it in Malcolms face was out of the park. She's a strong woman and we all should learn from her. Olicity moments were great too.Barry is a welcome change to the show! Next episode is going to be OUT OF THE HOUSE! I have to mention, why isn't Laurel on this episode? We see zero appearences of her and it looks like they are writing her off. Hope she comes back and hits hard next episode.ALL IN ALL truly superb episode.

Moira using Ra's Al Ghul to threaten Malcolm! not sure if she is a good or bad but I wonder if she know who the arrow identity is...after all the LOA seem to know

    ReplyDelete
  30. It was a good episode. To bad that Oliver got his butt kicked the whole episode but I guess you can't win them all. Also Oliver might as we'll be wearing a sign that says "hey I'm the vigilante" since it seems like everyone but his own family know who he really is. Barry's character was good I honestly had my doubts since but we will just have to see what happens from here on out with his character development. Moira was good with the threat she gave Merlin. Can it just say I know that when Thea finds out about her real daddy she will spiral like we have never seen. Next week should be good. I just am so over the flashback scenes cause to me it just seems that they have a small relevance to the present day events. I can without the flashbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You know what one person asked me on my blog where moira got all this info. I think the same. HI FI! She knows what's happened on the island. and she's been with Merlyn for so long,he would have told her something. Moira is sassy as hell and she rocked this episode. Merlyn looked like his face was going to blow up or something. He threatened her but she came back and triple threatened him. Doesn't matter if she's good or bad we need some one to stop Merlyn.

Ra's Al Ghul will show up but his daughter is coming to starling city first and I could see Oilver kill her making Ra's Al Ghul come for revenge

    ReplyDelete
  33. I fear with 2 sister, one is going to either die in the future, or They just split the character which is useless.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah, I too think this season will end with Slade arriving to Starling City. Maybe we'll find out he's the brain behind Blood's operation.

    ReplyDelete
  35. There are spoilers that Oliver finds out about Blood's masked identity but doesn't find out who he is, so I don't think he'll be defeated next week.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't think they become enemies so quickly. I think Slade would still be Oliver's friend at the beginning. We see Cyrus Gold is still loyal to Blood, his powers didn't affect his loyalty. They shouldn't affect Slade's feelings towards Ollie yet, and we know Slade thinks as Ollie as a friend.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't follow the comics. Who is Professor Zoom and why did he kill Barry's mother?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I loved this episode. It was my second favorite this season after Crucible. I ship Olicity now but still thought Barry and Felicity was fun. I'm glad they chose this way to reveal Oliver's secret to him and can't wait for next week

    ReplyDelete
  39. Awesome episode, but for me the most interesting part was the mentioning of the Blur.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The production values on this show is so impressive the 2 action scenes were so impressive and almost artistic, and Barry and Felicity had amazing chemistry

    ReplyDelete
  41. Awesome...and I rarely give that vote. Barry Allen worked for me (it was a good thing that they addressed how young looking he is, though), the little subplot with Thea, Roy and Sin (yeah! She is back!) worked perfectly, Moira fighting back against Malcom was perhaps the best part, followed by Oliver shooting Roy in order to "slow him down". The island parts were more on the weak side, though.
But all in all, it showcased all my favourite characters (even Quentin was there! \o/), had a great built-up and made me all excited for next week. Can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yeah, me too. I think only really outstanding deserves an "awesome", and this episode was it. Perfectly paced, perfectly designed to make us all excited for next week.

    ReplyDelete
  43. start_wearing_purple5 December 2013 at 10:24

Awesome. Even on that episode alone they've won me over to watch a Flash spinoff.

    ReplyDelete
  44. A masks isn't exactly a dead body.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Truly awesome episode.

The goofy music and everything surrounding Barry was a bit on the nose (as was Oliver's jealousy), but Grant Gustin was outstanding. He's so adorable as a geeky Arrow fanboy and his smile is to die for. Still think Felicity looks too old for him despite the fact that EBR is a year and a half younger than GG, she comes off as mature whereas he has such a baby face. (I hated dolled-up Felicity in the pink dress and weird hair, give me her casual look with glasses, a ponytail and more relaxed clothes anyday. I actually wish she'd stop wearing dresses and high heels, too, because that's more Laurel's thing.) That being said, I don't actively *mind* Barry/Felicity. And it will soon be over anyway, unless they axe the spin-off. Not sure what to think about Barry's back story/motivation.

Poor Diggle got nothing to do this week. This season is really underutilizing him, except for 2x06 obviously.

Hilariously, I once again didn't even notice Laurel is in the episode until I saw someone mention it afterwards. That's how much of a pointless non-entity she is: take her out and NOTHING changes, except less filler scenes that halt the momentum.

The fight scenes were amazingly cinematic this week. I really hope the Arrow crew submit themselves in the Emmy stunt category the way Nikita sadly didn't - they deserve a nomination. The second fight, with Ollie getting the crap beaten out of him, was so brutal and hardcore that it reminded me of the Dark Knight Rises fight where Bane destroys Batman.

I've always liked Moira, but this week I F'LOVED her. That snide comment to Isabel was great, I only wish she would've gotten in a few more jabs before Oliver interrupted. And of course, calling mothereffing Ras al Ghul on Malcolm's ass - perfect! Moira, most of the city might hate your guts right now, but you're still a Queen in more ways than one. Bravo.

Yay Felicity for being smart and coming up with a way to save Ollie without blowing his cover as the vigilante!

Not much to say about the FB's except A) if Slade's really dead, I'm Oprah and B) Oliver and his Island crew get captured AGAIN? Geez, this is only the 28th time since the beginning of the show.

Even if I hadn't read the synopsis for next week's ep (which states that Roy is captured and tortured by Brother Blood), I would be like "This kid is SO screwed", given that Blood's minion has his number. Oliver shooting him in the leg with an arrow to stop him from putting himself in danger was a "DAAAAMN!" moment - interestingly, just because he's not a killer anymore doesn't make him any less ruthless on the whole. (He did something similar to the Dollmaker's lawyer.)

Speaking of Roy: yay, more Sin! Now she just needs to get her mentor to come back to Starling.

This show is on fire, bring on that midseason finale.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hence the terms "think" and "thought" :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. The fact that people, myself included, didn't even notice she was gone says it all. Other characters are pieces in the puzzle, so something appears to be missing when they aren't in an episode (except maybe Thea, and at least she's part of the main character's family so she ties in naturally). That doesn't happen with Laurel, she's perpetually shoehorned in and refuses to serve a purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I still feel there's been enough Diggle this season (and he's one of my favorite characters on this show) because we get more about his personal life and his friendship with Oliver than Felicity for example. It was Diggle to whom Oliver finally revealed something of what happened to him on the island, we know Diggle is still with Lyla from what they mentioned last episode, and it was Diggle who noticed the "we" -> "I" of Oliver this week.
I also think there'll be much of Diggle in the 2nd half of the season, with H.I.V.E and A.R.G.U.S involved.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Diggle works for me the best as supporting character. I don't need him to be in the centre too much, because honestly, what is happening to the Queen family is way more interesting.
Naturally Oliver would be ruthless in stopping Roy, because if he gets his way, it would mean that he drags Thea into danger

    ReplyDelete
  50. start_wearing_purple5 December 2013 at 12:33

Just a quick question. Anyone else think it's possible that Malcolm is a figment of Moira's imagination?A manifestation of her guilt? I know we saw him kill a couple of people but that still could have been part of her hallucination. As for buying her way out of a guilty verdict, that could have been her lawyer.

    Just a thought.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I doubt that she would be able to imagine him killing her driver right before her eyes. I am more wondering how she explains the intruder in the house - or keeps it quiet.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think he's real.

    ReplyDelete
  53. That "blur" is Professor Zoom

    ReplyDelete
  54. Professor Zoom (also known as Reverse Flash) is Barry Allen's nemesis. He too has super speed, he went back in time to kill Barry's mother and frame his dead for it for no reason other than to try to make Barry's life hell.

    ReplyDelete
  55. What happaned to Olicity guys? I mean Felicity and Oliver acts like there's nothing between them... Or is that the case?
Slade is not dead, not just yet. Sarah asked what happaned to him when he met Oliver for the first time in the city. If Slade died in that right moment we just saw, Sarah wouldn't ask about him. The island backstory is much more interesting than it was last season but slower as well. It feels like a couple of seconds there and we're in the present day again... I'd like to see more. But it could mean that there's something big in the season finale.
    Slade was hilarious this episode.
Oliver: Slade, be back in a few minutes, okay?
Slade dying: I'll just get comfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thanks for the explanation. I'm curious about who they will hire to play him and other characters on the Flash pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Or at least for me is Clark Kent from SmallVille.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Which might explain why Moira acts so cold towards her from the get go. It looked to me like there is a history between those two.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Laurel? Who is Laurel?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Moira also warned Oliver to be careful of Isabel back at episode 2.01, so I think there's definitely history between them.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Holy s...t, that was amazing!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. That was so awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  63. So, Barry Allen is NOT the Flash? Because when he said he saw the "blur", that would imply that the "blur" which implies that it's the Flash, is not him. I really would like him to be the Flash...

BTW, it's a less action-packed episode but still very amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Didn't he kill his wife... Iris?

    ReplyDelete
  65. And they addressed each other by their first names during the meetings.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Brother Blood and Bronze Tiger were casted as the Two Villains Oliver will face for this Season. Bronze Tiger will pounce back up on our screen lol

    ReplyDelete
  67. If the series gets picked up which im sure it will(hoping lol) Then my guess the plot of the season will be bout Barry continuing to look for his Mom killer.

    ReplyDelete
  68. haha that's the first thing that popped in my head when i heard the blur

    ReplyDelete
  69. But what bout his duties as the mayor on Blue Bloods lol

    ReplyDelete
  70. Best episode so far! The final scene when Barry woke up in the arrow cave was awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  71. The amount of "I didn't even notice Laurel wasn't in it" comments I have been seeing really says something. I wonder if the writers are aware of that.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Back In Black Tricksteress 956 December 2013 at 04:25

    It was awesome :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Loved it. Like Barry Allen and the touch of The Flash always being late for his train was a hoot. This ep gives me hope that we'll see The Flash (since in the comic his speed was a lab accident...and we've now got a chemical that's changing physiology...cool...exciting (for me at least :-)
Yes, Roy, yelling at the guy with the bow and arrow...not smart. :-)
Moira standing up to Malcolm and kicking him out of town was fun to watch...and true to her character it was protecting her child that pulled it out of her.

    ReplyDelete
  74. My god, probably the best episode of this amazing season so far!! Great in every sense! Arrow is so much better this season! Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Moira is my favorite character, HBIC all the way!! Grant Gustin was so cute as Barry, really want to see more of him!! Even when I'm all for the Olicity, I loved his interactions with Felicity; alas, I really don't think that will go any further since he is probably getting his own series.

On the not so happy note, but not related to the show: The Laurel hate is getting ridiculous and I'm ashamed of the comunity and other Olicity shippers. Laurel is at worst perfunctory, but the bunch act like she single-handedly drags the show down, and lo and behold, the most vocal Lauren detractors are Olicity shippers.

Lauren is a flawed character, but with a lot of potential, but as long fandom keeps with this premise that female characters have to compete for the main guy's dick, always one gets thrown under the bus.

Don't be pretty shippers and ask for her to be written off, ask for her to be written well.
