Now I'm more than sure Storybrooke ended up going back with them in the Enchanted Forest! Don't know if we're suppose to take take the brick road as literal, or just a metaphorical paving leading us slowly into Ozian stuff, but I def like this fun little teaser!!
I already love her. Even her walk is deliciously evil. I think she will prove an ideal foil to Regina. Sort of the good evil versus the evil evil. I can't help but wonder if the goddess from Ariel's story will come into play in the second half of the third season or not..
Exactly. They KNOW that the only thing people are going to think is Wicked, a huge best seller and popular stage show and they're hoping that they'll get more viewers by playing up the idea that you're going to see Elphaba.
Hence my comment; I didn't think they had the rights, they're owned by a different studio but they do have the rights to the original books, which are in the public domain. Once Upon a Time is trying to coast off of better and more popular material. There is no question that they're hoping people will tune in to see if this is Elphaba.
Magic is Coming itself was trying to modify 'Winter is Coming' one of the most popular catchphrases from one of the most popular shows of the past decade. So this is trying to use the popularity of Wicked and the popularity of Game of Thrones.
I heard Belle say that too, but I also saw Dr. Whale helping Hook and Robin Hood and some unknown injured person in a modern day like hospital!
I'm not saying it's not possible that they get recursed, or experience yet another kind of curse, but that promo also shows the gang appear in front of the other Enchanted Forest gang "transformed" with Snow saying, "We're back!" (confirming that at that moment they know whom they are and what has happened)
So unless there's a link to an official spoiler that says so, I'm not sure there is proof that a full fledged curse has happened, or if simply Belle's memory is the only one that is altered again (possibly due what happened to her in Storybrooke or something)
But a year has passed since they went back. Also, it looks like Emma is looking at the curse scroll in one scene when she says "That's not possible.") It's my theory that Regina isn't happy to see the Wicked Witch has taken over since she was gone. She apparently makes herself known as everyone is on the way to Regina's castle (Snow and Regina are looking up from the ground in one scene) . So Neal suggests they go to Rumple's castle (takes care of her meeting Robin Hood) and while there, Regina works on putting together another curse (to trick WW in using - have no idea who she'd have to kill for a heart, but we know from Pan that it could just be someone who has been loyal to the WW) and she knows what is needed to make the true love potion that would make it possible for Emma to break it (A Land Without Magic).
Storybrooke was made out of MAGIC from the Enchanted Forest, -The curse is a type of magical spell that took part of whom they once were and recontextualized them in the appearance of the modern Land Without Magic, but geared towards Snow's unhappiness. Storybrooke is technically magic existing inside a non magical space (or one kind of quantum mechanics finding a way to bottle itself inside another)...
When the curse was broken Storybrooke didn't disappear and neither did their cursed memories and that's because the curse too is apart of whom they are and whom they become.
It's totally possible that Mader's witch recurses them, or some of them, but it does seem like Storybrooke is apart of it one way or another.
I agree that it also appears that our Witch has taken over Regina's castle and that she would not be happy about it, but I also suspect given the episode "The Doctor" and more recant season 3 episodes that Rumple and Dr. Whale/Frankenstein may be the one's whom more relate given Whale was alludes as "Oz" via Jefferson and that Rumple once had The Ruby Slippers...
I think they will all come back to the EF and remember everything ( based on what Snow said and Hook as well). And afther one year the Wicked Witch will cast a curse to bring most of them to our world (with SB) because she want to control them, I mean... She want to be the owner of some place because she didn't succed when she tried to be in control of the Land of Oz, but she will leave behind the leaders of the EF (Snow and Charming) and a few more people probably. And that's why they are in danger ,they must be locked up in a tower surronded by flying monkeys and orgers . Well... another curse as repetitive as it sounds would be an easy way to explain Hook's apperance in NY , because that's no beans left and I can't imagine him wearing ruby slippers eather. That new curse will keep their memories intact and they will be able to leave the town... Or at least it will be less complicated to leave the town. When Belle is talking to Emma is not a flashback because she's asking who casted the curse, and they all knew it was Regina in the first curse. Something I'm really excited about is that I want to know how Emma will believe in everything so fast, because it took a season in the first time. ;)
If Regina is the one who recreates the curse, she would want Emma to believe a lot faster this time and not have to wait indefinitely, so she'd find some way to do that.
I hope this time the responsable for the curse will be only the Wicked Witch because I want Regina to stop paying the price of curses and live her life, find Henry, meet Robin and Roland;) I guess she will help someway to break it faster as you said but I think Hook will prove to Emma that all that it is true before they get back to SB, that is a lot of proves... people of our world forgot about SB not about Emma...that's interesting to explore! Can't wait for March!
Oh I don't mean that Regina would cast it, but use whatever Rumple did to make it in the first place and then find some way for the Wicked Witch to cast it.
I don't know about Hook making Emma believe. If it took so long for Henry and August couldn't convince her, I doubt he can.
They would have to get permission from Gregory Maguire to use material from the book Wicked. This is a play on their old slogan "Magic is Coming" from Season 2 (or even "Winter is Coming") in reference to the Wicked Witch.
No. It was wiped out of existence. There's going to be another curse. Belle even asks Emma about it in the promo for 3x12. "Do you know who cursed us?"
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Storybrooke and yellow brick road? I SAW HEAVEN'S GATE.
ReplyDeleteThey make us happy and all excited for the show and then we have to be reminded and read "returns this march".... ugh. Very mean.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, looking forward to what Rebecca Mader brings to The Wicked Witch :))

ReplyDeleteI hope this isn't Wicked. I know they're all about coasting off of better material but I think the show needs to clarify
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so excited for this! But waiting until March is going to suck.

Interesting Storybrooke is back?
ReplyDeleteThe regular Oz books are more interesting that Wicked.
ReplyDeleteDon't think it's ever disappeared actually o_O
ReplyDeleteIt couldn't even be Regina because she doesn't have anyone to kill.
ReplyDeletePerhaps not. However, according to Regina It was only forest before the curse. So reversing the curse should it not revert to pre curse conditions?
ReplyDeleteI think they are just using "Wicked is coming" because the Wicked Witch is coming to the show, not that they're using Wicked.
ReplyDeleteThey would have to get permission from Gregory Maguire to use material from the book Wicked. This is a play on their old slogan "Magic is Coming" from Season 2 (or even "Winter is Coming") in reference to the Wicked Witch.
