In an article I read that Fox was the ones behind the MAJOR reveal in the trailer, but there didn't seem to be any direct statement from either Dreamworks or Fox.
I've also read that the spoiler was revealed months before by Gerard Butler in an interview, but could never find the actual source so maybe the studio just said forget it we'll just have the reveal in the trailer.
Finally I read a comment suggesting to reveal the spoiler to stop the Hiccup/Valka shipping (though it's not like something as minor as blood as stopped shippers before)
I'm encouraged by how they bracketed this, with Hiccup and Toothless teasing each other and not with some action or danger note as climax. I suspect they'll go for more spectacle and scope in this film and I'll be happy to see it, but I'm even happier seeing them continue to begin and end here with a boy and his bond with his dragon. I think that was what really made the last film sparkle - its emotional genuineness. Can't wait to see this! My mum of all people made me promise to take her on opening day, and she's really by default not amused by animated features.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Loved the trailer, can't wait for the film.
ReplyDeleteI thought Valka would be a villain, didn't think she would be Hiccup's mother.
