Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman, the follow-up to Man of Steel.
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character," said director Zack Snyder.
Gadot beat out Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion) and Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) for the role, details of which was shrouded in secrecy during the casting search.

Terrible idea to shove the Wonder Woman character into this movie.
ReplyDeleteI love when israeli actresses get some recognition. :)
ReplyDeleteI think she looks good for the role, but pushing her into this movie seems like a bad move. Of course I could be wrong, but perhaps should've waited for another one.
ReplyDeleteShe does not like Wonder Woman, at least not to me.
ReplyDeleteI hope she won't be rail thin in the movie, but I can't see the studio having Gal Gadot put on muscle for the role, unlike her male co-stars. I like her well enough, but this movie seems like such a mess.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. And the two actresses she beat out looked nothing like Wonder Woman either.
ReplyDeleteI agree too. She is pretty of course, but it is always helpful for the credibility of the movie if the actor or in this case the actress have a close resemblance, like Hugh Jackman did with Wolverine.
ReplyDeleteWho were the other two actresses.
ReplyDeleteWhile she has the hair she definately doesn't have the body she is a flat skinny stick and wonder woman is a muscular amazon with big breasts.
ReplyDeleteAlso not loving the Batman vs. Superman. I thought it was supposed to be about the two of them working together not fighting against each other.
Last line of the post.
ReplyDeleteFor the look of wonder woman Jamie is better than Gal. Jamie could dye her hair black that is a lot easier than putting on muscle and fake breasts.
ReplyDeletea) Superman + Batman + Wonderwoman? No. It will be too much information.
ReplyDeleteb) She is gorgeous, but looks nothing like Wonderwoman. At all.
Hahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteShe's gonna need some extensive training, a push-up bra and some extensions.
ReplyDeleteI'd actually appreciate some blue contact lenses too.
ReplyDeleteWhoops, forgot about those.
ReplyDeleteThis is the good I love her and really hope she does well
ReplyDeleteI agree - I was so excited to see Batman and Superman on the same movie, and now I don't know what to except. It can be either epic or an epic fail.
ReplyDeleteMeh, if they won't look natural, why bother? RDJ's Tony Stark had brown eyes instead of blue, and it wasn't even an issue.
ReplyDeleteNot dissapointed, just underwhelmed; her features are just too soft, and I fear she might look dainty.
ReplyDeleteStill, hoping they actually WANt to bulk her up proper, but I fear they are just going for "hot" instead of "imposing" and come one, we are talking about THE amazonian princes, please don't pretty-fy her too much.
Ok, but
ReplyDeletea) Wonder Woman's blue eyes are more iconic;
b) RDJ owned the character, he embodied Tony Stark perfectly, so the eye colour didn't really matter that much. If she manages to own the character as RDJ did, ok, but I really doubt it, since for most of the fans WonderWoman will remain Lynda Carter, while Tony Stark wasn't already associated with a specific actor.
Wonder Woman had blue eyes? I'd say the tiara and the arm cuffs were more iconic.
ReplyDeleteThe tiara and cuffs are canon.
ReplyDeleteI like her, but I still think Alexandra Daddario or Jaimie Alexander would have been perfect for the role.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I´m an idiot.
