EW has learned exclusively that Tom Berenger is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of the CBS cop drama, playing none other than Danno’s ex-firefighter father!
He will appear alongside Melanie Griffith, who, as previously announced, will play Danny’s mom in three episodes airing in 2014. Berenger is set to appear alongside Griffith in the last of those three.
“[Danny's mom] ends up rocking his world because she comes with this big piece of news, and it forces them to look at their relationship,” teases executive producer Peter Lenkov. “It’s a very nice ride. She’s going to have some really great scenes with McGarrett and in one episode she’s on a ride along with Chi McBride, which I think we’re looking forward to. It’s a sweet little arc.”
