I really liked this episode. It had great character moments, a good MotW, and an interesting story. While I had a lot of scenes I liked, it was easy to pick the final scene with Renard, Hank, and Nick bewildered about what to do with El Cucuy. I really hope someone made a gif of that scene because I would love to have the gif of all 3 of their reactions in the recap.
Juliette and Nick research in the trailer. They are both so into it, and so together in it. Juliette is enthusiastic and so good at this, that we all just wish this had happened sooner. I liked the other scenes, too. Just an all-around, excellent episode.
I loved El Cucuy. You can't make a 77 year old memaw into a killing machine and not have her back for an encore. If Nick and the gang end up starting a war with the royals, I'd want El Cucuy backing 'em up.
I loved Granny El Cucuy. I loved the scene in the precinct where she told the cops they had nothing on her, all the while wearing a sweet smile. But I chose the scene she went after the purse snatcher because of how delighted she looked.
I would love to have her back. She really enjoys her job and you never see that kind of enthusiasm in the workforce these days.Take 'em all out Granny.
This was my favorite Juliette episode since season 1, I believe. Glad they are fitting her character in more fluidly these days instead of using her as a plot device. Mostly though, I love how she confronted Nick about the e-mail instead of them turning into some lame subplot. Many, many kudos to the writers for that.
Note to my fictional self - Never accept a #Grimm dinner invitation. It's either accompanied by crime scene photos, interrupted by homicide, filled with ingredients that end up killing you, or Monroe's substituted the usual ingredients for stuff I can't pronounce.
I loved too many scenes in the episode. The diner with everyone was funny about how casual everyone was about talking mruder and looking at dead body while eating.....or the confrontation about Mom ('-I'm guessing it's a girl -Yeah......'' xD Share with the class and finish your sentence Nick!) and everyone's reaction at the end about Granny cucuy.
When I first watched this episode, somehow I felt the pace was a bit weird (the commercials never help with that^^; they were weirdly placed this week or it's just me?), but now that I think about it, a lot of great scenes if you take them one by one
I have seen that actress for years...if she is who I think she is (hitting imdb now yep its her)...and knew she wast El Cucuy the second I saw her. She was awesome.
I liked all of the Granny El Cucuy scenes, from the moment Nick caught her, to the end with the purse. Those were some of the most fun scenes I've seen in a while. That actress did a great job. And the writers were perfect. I hope we get to see her again, perhaps helping out the team against a common 'big bad' next time.
But, I also really enjoyed that dinner scene, with the whole group bringing their respective expertise to the table and working together. I hope we have more of these group scenes too.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I'd like a gif of the purse snatch foil.

ReplyDeleteGranncucuy wins all awards.
ReplyDeleteI want to pick the Cops are Stumped scene but...I have to pick the dinner scene...and mostly because Hank was going for seconds of vegetarian dishes.

ReplyDeleteMe too. That look was priceless.

ReplyDeleteBwah! She's Granny Cucuy in the recap but I like this so much better. By the way, I agree.

ReplyDeleteShe definitely was the MVP of the episode. Big kudos for that actress because she sold sweet adn homicidal equally well.

And he couldn't pronounce them. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI was SO relieved they got that out of the way quickly and rationally. I also was afraid it would be some soap opera thing.
ReplyDeletebwahahaha Excellent thing to remember

ReplyDeleteand that blouse covered with blood and gore
ReplyDeleteEven better was Renard actually saying "Are you kidding me?"...it was the main reason I choose this scene over the dinner one, which was great too.
ReplyDeleteGrimm and eating doesn't go well together in general. Honestly, the best diet is most likely to have this show on 24/7.

I think we are going to get a Grimm Gang scene every episode now. That seems to be the way of it this season and I am all for it.
ReplyDeleteI love her excuse to cover it. Even better, Nick's "Are you kidding me?" expression when she so sweetly says she was trying to help him. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI had a couple issues with pacing but overall I thought it was a fun, well-written episode. I agree that scene by scene there is a lot to love.
ReplyDeleteMe too, especially after what they did to Juliette last year. The handled it brilliantly.
