  3. I agree. Although it's too bad that it will only get the Mother lead-in for one episode, I was hoping for more as I think they probably fit together.

  6. I don't like CBS's new schedule after HIMYM. Starting Monday's off with 2 Broke Girls doesn't seem like a good idea and I doubt the show will make it to a second season.

  7. so this goes to Monday at 9pm, which show is going to be finishing up early to accommodate it?

  8. so HIMYM is ending early?

  10. Yes, I have to agree. I think there is a very strong possibility the entire night goes sub 2.0 in April/May. This being said, I do understand what they did because it makes sense to end earlier the show that is not coming back rather than the show that is (effectively giving it a huge hiatus). However, because of the huge help that Mother gives the whole night, presumably even more so in the ending stretch, I think they did wrong, especially because Friends would likely be very compatible after Mother. This is what I would have done:

By end of fall, these are the episode counts:
    - Mother: 13
    - 2BG: 12
    - MM: 7
    - Mom: 12

    06/01: Repeats + Hostages Finale
    13/01: 2 Broke Girls + 2 Broke Girls + Mike and Molly + Mom + Repeats
    20/01: 2 Broke Girls + 2 Broke Girls + Mike and Molly + Mom + Repeats
27/01: 2 Broke Girls + Mike and Molly + Mike and Molly + Mom + Repeats
    03/02: Repeats (Olympics)
    10/02: Repeats (Olympics)
    17/02: Repeats (Olympics)
    24/02: Repeats (Olympics)
    03/03: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + 2 Broke Girls + Intelligence
    10/03: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + 2 Broke Girls + Intelligence
    17/03: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + 2 Broke Girls + Intelligence
    24/03: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + 2 Broke Girls + Intelligence
    31/03: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + 2 Broke Girls + Intelligence
    07/04: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + Mom + Intelligence
    14/04: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + Mom + Intelligence
    21/04: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + Mom + Intelligence
    28/04: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + Mom + Intelligence
    05/05: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + Mom + Intelligence
    12/05: Mother + Friends + Mike and Molly + Mom + Intelligence
    19/05: Friends + Friends + Mike and Molly + Mom + Intelligence

By the end, we would have:
    - Mother: 24
    - 2 Broke Girls: 22
    - Mike and Molly: 23
    - Mom: 22
    - Friends: 13
    - Intelligence: 13 (including the post NCIS preview)

    This would accomplish the following:
    - no repeats during the entire time, except for the Olympics period
    - consequently, no originals would have to air after repeats (as will happen under the current plan with Mom, Intelligence, Mike and Molly and Friends)
    - no original lead-ins would go to waste (as will happen with some original Mother lead-ins)
    - Friends would be paired the entire time with the likely compatible Mother and would get to air all 13 episodes in season
    - Intelligence and Friends would air straight through with no breaks
    - the weaker portion of the lineup (the one without Mother) would be in January, but that is fine because they don't face the voice during that period!
    - they still get to test 2 Broke Girls as 8 pm anchor

Everything would fit so much better! What do you think?

  11. I don't think it's that confusing... Mother would take January and February of hiatus and Mom would take February and March. The only confusing part would be the double installments of 2 Broke Girls and Mike and Molly in January but that could be decently promoted, they do double bumps of their comedies all the time when they feel like it anyway.

I just feel that the alternative, what they did come up with, is much worse. It will be like ABC Wednesdays with originals airing after repeats all the time and originals being wasted into repeats. Not to mention new shows being put into hiatus 3 weeks after originals and new shows running into summer. Or, as we've started by saying, the fact that they will be totally exposed with the lineup sans Mother facing the voice, which by the way should have an extra strength after the Olympics push that NBC will give it.

What would you have them do?

PS: The 2 Broke Girls 24 episode season is not a serious matter. They could air one on January 6th in my schedule or simply hold it for next year.
