Almost Human, not looking very good in the ratings/viewer department. Sad really. It's a fun show, and the cases are pretty interesting. It's difficult to make a procedural show stand out, when there are so many to choose from.
ReplyDeleteI am so disappointed with the ratings. This is one of my favorite shows. I don't like procedurals, except for "Bad Robot procedurals". POI, Fringe, and now this.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bad Robot writers like those for Sleepy Hollow.
They always put a spin on things.
Really hoping the fact other Fox shows are doing poorly will help Almost Human. That and when it returns it should have Sleepy Hollow backing it up again, at least for a couple weeks.
Ugh, looks like I will have to put Almost Human to my summer catch up file. If it gets renewed, I'll catch up but now, I fear it is definitely in danger.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't watching it help with the ratings though?
ReplyDeleteFOX put themselves in this situation with the constantly changing premier dates, the late premier in November itself, and selling this a procedural. The DVR numbers for Almost Human is pretty good, just need to see if they are good enough for FOX but tbh that 8pm timeslot has way too many established shows for a scifi show to compete well in live ratings. Scifi for the most part struggles on TV and pitting it against shows that are popular that have been on for years and huge reality shows like The Voice and Dancing with the Stars does not help.
ReplyDeleteFOX really has nothing new of worth other than Sleepy Hollow and AH still has good buzz so fingers crossed, I think the key for AH survival is social media and making sure the DVR numbers remain high.
It would only count if patriofall had a Nielsen box,and by the reaction i assume they don't.
ReplyDeleteThis is so depressing,i had such high hopes AH would do well..
ReplyDeleteI agree with all you've said - I haven't liked the idea of it being on Monday at 8pm since the start. And The Voice is a monster. And just like any old monster, it can't just have one night, it has to have two. (Reality TV for the most part, is my bane).
ReplyDeleteI'm going down with the ship if it does go. I convinced myself to after the second episode ratings.
ReplyDeleteAlso I have to point out on top of everything they aired episodes out of order. This weeks episode was #3 in filming/was supposed to be the third episode, but Fox had to change that as well. Maybe if it had aired when it should have, the show would have lost less viewers.
ReplyDeleteI watch on Hulu since I haven't joined the Fox website, when I can't catch it as it airs (which I prefer to do because I hate waiting). The episodes come on Hulu early the next day after airing.
ReplyDeleteExactly, Sleepy Hollow and AH should have had their audiences grow together w/o FOX intruding and pushing the more standalone eps to the fore and leaving a lot of people dissatisfied with what seemed like the show dropping the overall arc after the pilot. If they allowed the show to have standalones interspersed with more myth eps like the one that aired this Monday, the show would have been fine. Now it has to work harder than before to keep its viewers. The increasing DVR numbers are promising and I know tons of people who hoarded the eps waiting for the story line to pick up. Here's hoping we can at least stay around a 1.8/1.9 for January.
