  1. I don't know why James Brolin insisted on his character getting "darker" but, from the info on this episode I've come across, it seems like they're making the character more of a jerk than anything else which is the real disappointment to me. I don't mind Castle's dad being darker or more complicated but I'm not too keen on him being a jackass toward his own son.

  2. I don't want to sound rude, but I think you should watch the episode first, before you judge it and decide that you don't like his behaviour. The character might get 'darker', but that doesn't mean he is going to be a jackass. All the information we have so far about that episode, is just a small percentage of what we will know afterwards. So don't judge a storyline you don't even know yet.

  3. Uhh...the information we've received so far indicates that he's very attracted to Kate and might actually be flirtatious toward her. His son's fiance. And he talks down to his son like he's a five year old.

I'm sorry, but based on that info, thinking he's a jerk is a more than reasonable assumption no matter the context.

  4. I'm looking forward to this episode. I'm specifically delighted because it was written by Terence Paul Winter who has written some of my favorite episodes and because Hunt is going to be something other than the suave, charming man that he appeared to be the last time we saw him.

  6. Normally I would agree with you but, As Aydrian pointed out, there is ample specific info regarding the unsavory aspects of the character that have yet to surface. In this instance, there's plenty of reliable info to, at the very least, form a decent preliminary opinion.

  7. All I am saying that you should watch the episode, before making your judgement. Afterwards you can still say he is a jackass. And yes the information we have so far makes him sound like a jackass. But an episode is about 43 min long. A lot can happen.
