In fact, Bones producers have been so encouraged by the show’s resiliency that they’re looking ahead to a 10th season.
“We’re going out on a pretty big cliffhanger at the end of this [ninth] season,” exec producer Stephen Nathan tells TVLine. “It will change, at least temporarily, the landscape of the show. It really will be a very big shift in how Booth and Brennan will be dealing with crimes in the future.”

ReplyDeleteWell i'm excited! At least they can turn the season finale into a series finale if need be,at least the fans won't get screwed over if Fox decides to cancel at the last minute..

ReplyDeleteCrime shows like Bones can keep going as long as the network lets them and the ratings stay high. Because there is always ways to come up with different story lines for each episode. For Example look at Law and Order 20years and Law and Order SVU is in its 15th year.

ReplyDeleteBones is more character driven than L&O or CSI. Which is why I feel it shouldn't keep getting renewed just because it has good ratings. People still love it but a show this old, probably a matter of time before the quality significantly drops. Or worse, they ruin Booth and Brennan.
ReplyDeleteIn the article they said that IF they should get cancelled at the last minute they have a back up plan to turn that episode into a series finale.So the cast and fans would get an ending,not a cliffhanger.

ReplyDeleteThe ratings haven't gone down,if anything they have gone up since moving to Friday night. So unless there is a drastic change in ratings i can't see Fox cancelling it.Bones has been there top drama,and only full season drama..

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry,the ratings are very good and Fox isn't / doesn't have another one hr full season drama that is doing as well.Unless the ratings take an incredible downturn Fox will keep it on for a 10th season.I think that even if the ratings are terrible they would probably get a shorten 10th season,13 episode instead of the 22 episode.
