ReplyDeleteSeems Catherine is a dumb heroine who can't stand to be alone after a bad breakup. For Batb writers epic love and self discovery means hooping from one bed to another in a heartbeat. Found the idea odd and pretty insulting . What a mess they have done with the two leading characters . Unbelievable.
ReplyDeletethis is a wait and see kind of situation, don't jump to conclusions, the writers still have time to give us a happy ending, since they probably know by now from Mark Pedowitz whether or not their getting cancelled. They were only writing episode 15, so that's 7 episodes to turn things around.

ReplyDeleteI think they know if the show is to be cancelled and will probably see a turn around from episode 14.Only the same as last year!! dont want this show to end,I wish fans would support the show and fight for it like many of us want to.They are shooting all 22 episodes so the show wont end with Cat/Gabe together
ReplyDeleteI don't think we should jump to conclusions. The press release mentions that Gabe and Cat 'grow closer'. That doesn't mean they're going to kiss and make love. Let's watch the episode first before we jump to conclusions ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty obvious that things aren't going to be good for our beloved couple in episode 9. Catherine just shot Vincent and Vincent let his beast side take over.
Things will get better for our beloved couple. It is a drama and I am looking forward to how they grow closer and in love again <3
I have a feeling things will start to turn around from episode 10. I'm still SOOOOO curious as to why Vincent appears on The Talk. Come on January!!!

ReplyDeleteYou say 'it looks like he's going to cheat again'. It's 'assumptions' like these that turn fans away from watching an episode. People start thinking they're facts. I mean you could be right, but I think it's unfair to come to that conclusion before watching the episode.
ReplyDeleteSo Cat is going to get closer to Gabe and then heat up things with a cooking instructor? From the looks of it, she back to being who she used to be before she met Vincent. Then again no two subsequent episodes after "Liar Liar" have any common thread binding them. Each episode felt like the characters were in different places as people as well as in relations. So maybe this will be another lack of continuity. I however can't help feeling certain that Cat won't get into a serious relationship with either of those two. She's too obsessed with Vincent and she remembers what they used to share. It was too special to move on from. And if she does, then that's pretty much the last nail in VinCat's coffin.
ReplyDeleteI never have and I never will make an attempt to hide my absolute loathing for the Tori character. I can't stand her and I feel like throwing away my laptop every time she is on-screen. So ya, not too thrilled about VinCat seemingly working together to save her. I haven't ever wished death upon any character and I don't on Tori either but just the fact that she is in the show till at least 213, and maybe even more, is making me confused on whether I want to watch these episodes or not.
But the top of my worries is that I won't see a proper Vincent redemption track. There just isn't enough number of episodes left considering the snail's speed with which VinCat are progressing this season. Two steps forward and two hundred steps back. And from whatever little spoilers we've gotten till 212/213, they don't seem to have made any positive progress in so many episodes either. I don't trust the writers, they've not done anything this season to earn that from me, but I sincerely hope they know what they're doing because I certainly don't know how to feel about a show whose male lead I'm not fond of at all now and whose lead couple I don't connect to anymore.
If this is how you feel Joy, then maybe you should stop watching a show that you are not able to sit back and watch with an unbiased eye. Your judgement is obviously clouded by something that prevents you from seeing that this is a television show, based on Vincent and Catherine's epic struggle to be together at the end of this journey. Along the way BOTH characters have done and will do questioning things. And maybe, just maybe, you could live by the creed, if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. I also think that you have failed to see, it was Cat's parents that did this (according to the "story" so far) to Vincent. And if you think we don't pay for the sins of our parents, then all you need to do is look how often history repeats itself. Maybe its time for you to speak positivity about a show you do like, rather than dis one that you don't. #BeautyAndTheBeast
ReplyDeleteI think most of the problem lies with bringing in all these new writers/directors. IMO the writers/directors from Season 1 did an excellent job. Handing over control of the show to people who think they know these characters/storylines and think they know how to "fix" it was a mistake on CW's part. Had they dialled back all these changes and left more of the S1 tone, I think S2 would have been better, but I personally think they bombarded us with too many changes. And they took too much of what made the show so special out, the VinCat romance, and diluted it with other love interests that are just unnecessary. IMO these newbies have only made things worse and they don't know the fandom AT ALL! But I love the show and will watch, fight, tweet, vote, whatever, to the very END!! I can (unhappily ;) sit through what comes cause I KNOW it will always be VinCat. It will work out. They will make it through this. They will win us all back. :)

I heard that Cat refuses to get too close with anyone else because she's trying to figure herself out. That's what prompted the cooking class & led to a heated situation... lol Catherine, Girl. smh

ReplyDeletecome back together, they will be even stronger. Tori's entrance into the dynamic of Catherine's and
Vincent's relationship will lead Vincent down the path to find out who he really is and what Muirfield
did to him will start to be revealed, this door opening will lead Vincent to find out just how deep his
connection to Catherine is. It goes beyond them just meeting and falling in love. This discovery
will lead him back to Catherine and he will fall in love with her all over again, their bond will be stronger
than before. The writers are doing a great job this season, we have to be patient and let them tell
the story.
Yeah when I read 'Gabe and Cat grow closer', I was not happy. It could mean something other than growing closer romantically, (hopefully) but I will be severely disappointed if they go down that route.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you ~ much as I loathe Tori and can't wait for her to be gone and I cringe at every mention of Gabe putting the moves on Cat I know it's just part of the crap our poor BBs have to go through to earn their love and realize WHY they are meant to be ~ although it sounds like they will be on different paths for a while they will always be in each other's lives so bring it on while I stock up on tums ~ I LOVE my VinCat and will always support BatB no matter what the Writers throw at us ~ sadists that they are! @_____@. Can't wait to find out what mysterious mythology binds our VinCat together other than their obvious love. I'll definitely roar with joy if they kill off Tori mwahaha!

ReplyDeleteThis is all a part of the plan to bring them closer. No I am not too happy with how season 2 turned out but it has still affected my emotions by bringing even greater suspense to the show. I am curious on how it turns out and I still love the show. Maybe seeing Catherine and gabe closer together is what snaps Vincent out of his memory loss problems or helps him to realize how he truly feels for Catherine. Maybe Vincent will understand that Catherine only shot him to protect him from his inner beast. Tori may or may not end up with Vincent but who cares its all a part of a plan to bring the beauty and the beast back together. All I can say is we need to try to stop assuming and just wait for it to reveal itself. I know I am super excited for batb to come back.-from a Virginia beastie!

ReplyDeleteSeason 2 has been very disappointing so far. Last year, it seems that the writers succeeded in making the concept work/credible, but now... the show feels almost comical. Nothing seems to be taken seriously (à la 'Lost Girl') and it feels off to me.
ReplyDeleteI mean, this season, Catherine's reactions have barely made sense, the revelations and developments are clichéd and ridiculous: Beast vs mascot-Beast, 'Oh I know who my father is now,' Gabe loves Catherine, VINCENT ENTIRE STORYLINE SO FAR, etc.
I didn't mind during the first 5 episodes, and thought I'd just have to adjust like I did with Dark Angel season 2, but yeesh. They're really pushing it. That Thanksgiving episode was a complete mess.

ReplyDeleteI have read and heard spoilers and even Brad Kearns say that for Gabe and Cat to be together the relationship would have to happen organically and there is no time for that. If there were going to be in a relationship then Cat would not be cooking something up with her dishy cooking instructor a few episodes later and I think that deep down Gabe knows that Vincent will always be the one for Cat. AndTori is a means to an end; not a love interest I do not think. Maybe for her, but not for Vincent. There is a good interview with AB in Vents magazine that sort of explains the next arc. It is a good read. I haven't been a fan of the presentation of Season 2 either but do see the vision. My worry is like others that we won't see a good closure before we go on hiatus, even knowing there are some more episodes to be aired. Those last 6, for me, need to be them working together and being together in every sense of the word. I do trust the writer's from last year who gave us such an amazing season and knowing what the situation is right now, it is even more important for the fans to be able to see where the characters are headed and their journey back to each other. All the crew know that the two need to be together and for the fans to see that hope, even in the depths of despair! I think the next few episodes will be exciting and I am really looking forward to the ones after that-we will start to see that love blossoming again soon. I can feel it!

ReplyDeleteI've read a lot of your comments. I wish I could say it will all be fine. In light of the fact that some of the Episodes may end up lost or never shown I can't promise that now. What I will say is the way S2 has gone thus far has been quite brilliant. Assuming the whole idea is for Catherine and Vincent to truly experience life without each other & maybe even a little bit of someone else, only to find that they want each other. That's a pretty cool ending and a lot of lessons learned. I'll have to give it to Vincent because the bulk of his actions is a direct result of what has been done to him. So he's trying to deal with this new rage and Tori on his back about a relationship & then watching him girl (Catherine, his savior) end up in the arms of another man. I think when he get Catherine back he will be holding onto her with the Jaws of life.. Sometimes love hurts. She did them both a favor by shooting him. That shot literally saved him and their relationship. Imagine if he had ripped Reynolds to shreds right there in front of her while she begged him not to. Catherine had explain to Vincent back at her Apt that Reynolds is not one of the Bad Beast, he was all human & that is where the line is drawn. Also just want to mention she was not saying it's ok to kill any Beast. Just Bad ones because it's not like they can be arrested. It's a unique kind of problem that only a few at the NYPD know about. It can't even get out. Also some think that Catherine did not check on Vincent after he was shot. Really, even the worst writer in the world would not overlook that detail. I'll bet when Ep 9 starts it will show a scene with Catherine phoning Gabe to find Tori and have her track Vincent to help him with the gunshot wound & follow up with his results. So again, I love where the writers are going with this but the only thing that stands in between VinCat and us seeing them together is the last Episodes.. Obviously we may see where they start working on getting back but don't know if we'll ever see it now due to low ratings & possible Cancellation....
ReplyDeleteHi Helena-I really think that starting with episode 9, though it sounds bleak, that we will start to see where they will be coming back to each other. Each episode brings them closer This is Cat's time to explore who she is and we already know that she still loves Vincent. You don't stop loving someone because they don't do what you want-She doesn't think they can be together as Vincent has chosen beast but with this episode I think we will start to see his journey back to being human. I think he is the "hero" in epside 11 that we have heard will emerge and he will then have chosen his humanity-so remember GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!

ReplyDeleteIf you search Vents Magazine 30th issue, it is on page 18. Hope you enjoy! I am glad I read it because "JT" always puts things in a realistic, no nonsense perspective. I am SOOO looking forward to seeing more of JT and Tess as the core group and I think we will see a lessening of Gabe once Cat and he figure out their relationship, which I do not think will be a romantic one; maybe a thought or even one kiss, but I think that will be it.

This is who Cat is and even though she is trying to find herself; she protects people so protecting Tori even makes her more the person she is; and it is another way for Vincent to remember who she is; even if he doesn't remember who she is! I think the plan was always to have them together by about the episode before they go on hiatus as even Brad Kearns realizes that cannot keep the two apart for two long. I think they knew it was a bit of a risk the vision and presentation so need to have that sweet reunion sooner rather than later and now even more so. They know the status of the show and know if they want the continued support of the fans, that they need to give us what we want before the hiautus.. DON'T STOP BELIEVING!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with Cat protecting Tori but with the latter's presence itself. She is apparently important to the story but she's been nothing but useless till now. All I wished was for her to serve her purpose while minding her own business and then go. But I'm just a fan, what do I know?
ReplyDeleteVinCat being apart right now is not the issue. In fact it's better than whatever-the-hell their relationship status was from 'Hothead' to 'Man or Beast?', so I'm not even asking for a hurried reunion but only the essence of the show to be brought back. That does not mean no character/story development. It is unfair to expect Vincent and Catherine to be the same people they used to be before his capture. But I don't like how Vincent has been made so unlikeable that it's almost impossible for me to sympathise with him even though I know he is a victim; and it seems to be Cat's turn on the butchering table in the second half. Not to mention, the show doesn't seem to be about VinCat anymore. Even if this season is about discovering them separately as individuals, shouldn't the soulmate connection and pull still be palpable? Else what's even the point?
I myself don't want to stop believing but I'm hardly left with much to believe in anymore. I'm human, there's only so much I can take. A show is supposed to evoke emotions in us but not those of disgust and betrayal. They need to give us what we want before the hiatus but at this point, I don't think they know (and if they do, they obviously don't care about) what the viewers want.
I'm genuinely sorry for being so pessimistic specially after you've been so nice about trying to look beyond the bleakness but so much has happened in the past episodes which has made me question everything I knew and loved about this show. All these changes are scaring the living daylights out of me now. I'm feeling so beaten and helpless that I've lost my show and my VinCat.

ReplyDeleteI just want to kind of reassure you that no matter what the last six episodes will see the light of day, more than likely in the summer. The show is too expensive for them to not try to recuperate some of their money. I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worse. It is known that Mark Pedowitz went to the BATB set. It was the only returning show he has visited thus far in person. The writers probably know it's time to wrap things up and they love the Beasties so they WILL give us a happy ending if it comes down to that.

ReplyDeleteOMG this is really funny : MP spent a visit to BATB set while his network did nothing to promote this serie ? They barely used a photoshopped poster for the new season....everything else was done by an incredible , admirable , passionate fanbase . Maybe too much .

ReplyDeleteI'm honestly not sure about that, all I can assume is that by the time episode 2x22 airs, the VinCat magic will be back. They will probably need a time jump or something like to the characters to where they need to be, so let's just roll with the punches, stay positive and wait and see. We have a lovely cast and wonderful showrunners in Sherry and Jenny, let's trust them to make the most of what they've been given.
ReplyDeleteThanks again. You are right that Sherri and Jennifer are wonderful showrunners. I think it would be smart, however for the writers to have that Vincat magic before we go on hiatus. I did hear in one of Jay's interviews a long time ago that them falling in love again would be reminiscent of season 1 and it was around episode 14 that they declared their love. That would be good for the fandom. We are all fighting like crazy to keep this show on the air. If only the network would let this season play out and give the show another chance for next year. This year will have been a learning curve and having the two together is what everyone wants, and they can fight whatever challenges together. I am putting on my wish list for them to be back together by episode 14, like a Valentine's episode like last year though I really want them to kiss in this episode, not a bunch of near kisses. We are beyond that! Waiting for one of the last six episodes for them to be back together would be much to painful for everyone, especially having to wait for the summer!

My heart bleeds for what's lost and I don't trust the writers to ever regain it again. The way the fans are being disrespected, why having S3? Let it die. It's not worthy.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Believe me I understand your frustration but the fandom needs to stay positive right now. Feel free to stop watching but it's not in most Beasties nature to turn tail and give up when things look bad. We roar louder, never give up and stick together. Hope you'll find the motivation to do the same.
ReplyDeleteIf Gabe and Cat won't get closer in a romantic way, there won't be a point in declaring it on the press release. Kern has been saying that Cat will consider Gabe as a boyfriend since the beginning of the season. It's outrageously absurd!

Fairy tales never let us down and in Beauty and the Beast, Belle and the Beast went through their own journey to get to each other!

I think he said could and should consider but that doesn't mean will! It's like Tori the potential is there and maybe there is some attraction but only goes so far. I have hated it too from the beginning the love triangle thing but people love drama. A famous person, I think her name is Lillith said without conflict the show doesn't move forward or something like that!! I am a real fan of Season 1 as well but am not giving up. My commitment is to the show itself not necessarily the writers, though there are some excellent ones. I love this show and really feel that once the journey is over, the romance is going to be sweeter than last year. I am trusting Sherri and Jennifer on that one!
ReplyDeleteI won't drop the show because Cat has been declined to a revamped vers. of Lana Lang ( the poor KK seems destined to perform the same pathetic woman in every Tv show she does. ) Vincent to an annoying barking dog and Season 2 to a mixed fried fish / meat / vegan / cheese/ sweet dish, unappetizing and tough to digest . I will make a massive use of anti-acid but I will stay connected till the end. Can I suggest you the same ? But , as a woman I'm getting ticked off with the ominious messages kindly delivered by Mr. Kern and the new writers : so, the Beauty should hang out with Gabe because he's organically normal, rich and good-looking ? Of course he killed few humans , tried to cut Vincent into segments , cowardly dumped his poor dead girlfriend but hey , this is totally irrelevant to Catherine's eyes . He's an handsome millionaire ! A new pearl of sexist mysoginy on a long list of wrong moral-free messages delivered to S2 audience and sadly signed and approved by two nice women : Jennifer and Sherry . THIS has been my biggest disappointment since the infamous episode 2 was aired.End of rant.

And it's more about the very negative comments full of assumptions that drives fans away I'm afraid. That's my problem with these comments. I want a 3rd season and many more and we're fighting so hard for it. So we don't need all of this negativity. And some 'fans' are really rude to the cast and writers. It's a TV show, not real life and they try to give us a show with drama, action and love. I'm just enjoying the rollercoaster ride and wait for what's coming.

The show runners had absolutely no respect for their already formed fanbase, alienating them in order to pursuit an audience that wouldn't come without any promotion. There's absolutely no respect for their own premise to the show. Not one single thing was preserved from S1.
Respect to the audience. This season was improved to please male audience? How many men do you know that like to see a petite woman being hit by a super strong guy just because he got angry?
There's a lot of sexism implied in the scripts which is disrespectful to women. Cat became a weak and hipocritical woman and an annoying girlfriend. Plus, all the problems go back to her. She's the source of all problems, as stated in some of the posts here. How can I support something like that? It goes against everything I believe.
And, finally, respect from the fans towards the fans. It's really sad to see people kicking the fans out because they're critizing the show. They don't even have the right to talk about their hurt and try to change what's wrong and is clearly destroying the fanbase.
So, if BatB's TPTB wants me back (which I doubt, BTW), they should start to show me respect, not continue to put nails in their own coffin.
I always thought that the show wasn't that expensive compared to the other shows from the network. It barely has special effects, the actors aren't the most famous ones, except KK and maybe Sendhil. Reign seems a lot more expensive with all the old century's paraphernalia.

First, accusing Cat of this mess is really unfair. She trusted Gabe because he gave her reasons for it, including giving her a magic pill that almost cured Vincent. I think that alone would make me follow the man to hell. Can you honestly say you wouldn't do the same? So I can only pity Cat for Gabe's betrayal.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I understand your point and, to some extent, agree with it. But I don't see Vincent being alone. Everyone but Tess was on his side and was willing to help him. Sure, he didn't know those people and didn't have a reason to trust them, but that also applies to she-beast and manipulative handler. Only those last two only wanted him to be a killing machine and those were the ones he decided to trust and follow. I would understand him if he had decided to follow NONE of them and had messed up in his way of trying to do right. Since he chose the violent side, I can't think that he's not responsible for his acts.
I simply didn't see Vincent loving Cat this season. There was lots of talking about him wanting to be with her, but I didn't ACTUALLY SEE that. There's a difference between talking and doing (similar to the show runners promising a love story to the fandom and never actually delivering it). I would prefer a thousand times never seeing Vincent talk about being with Cat to see him fighting for it.
Vincent was only attracted to Tori through his beastside and he still doesn't know how big her influence on him is. And it was confirmed they won't kiss again so to me that's not a real affair. And about the kiss between Cat and Gabe, let us first watch how that plays out. I don't want to see that either but before I've seen it I don't want to assume anything. I hope it will be just a friendly kiss, after all she must realize some time she only loves Vincent. Like you I don't want to see love triangles. And the point is that V and C are not together at the moment. They have to go through some hard times to realize they belong together. And we have to get through that too. It's sometimes hard to watch but I have faith and patience, it will all work out. I'm sorry you can't see it that
ReplyDeleteI'm not kicking fans out, I've heard fans stop watching it because the story line at the moment is not what they want. If they don't have the patience to wait how the story unfolds then it's their loss. And I certainly don't put myself in a high place. I just wish everyone could be positive and I think the negativity and rude personal comments towards the cast and the writers is dividing the fandom. And I hate to see that happen. I'm just fighting to keep this show I love in the air. Sorry!

So I kind of assume that these memories were not strong or important enough to bring him back to Catherine . Maybe his present is much better than his past. Let's hope before the end of the season they will kindly let me know why JT spent 10 years of his life trying to help Vincent. I 'm still stuck on THAT photo seen on episode 1 ...

ReplyDeleteno ...i'm not blaming Catherine in any way ;) ...I 'm supporting both Vincent and Catherine the same way ;) ...and i'm not saying that Vincent is innocent...yes , all of them wanted to help him ...but none of them were trusting him for real ( watching people saying that they want to help you and then finding them talking behind your back , saying you're out of control it's kind ' tough ' ) ...and don't forget - he is more of a beast now ... he taps to his supernatural side ...and this side has to do more with his handler and Tori( especially her , since she is a beast ...even though i hate her :P :) lol -THANK GOD SHE WON'T BE AROUND FOR MORE THAN 2 EPISODES !!! ) than everyone else...it's the only side of him that makes sense to him right now ...besides - it's like all of them ( JT , Catherine , Gabe , Tess ) have made a team working while none of them is talking to him ...---which is something that JT will do ;) ---i think and hope ( :P :) )....and something tells me based on what we've heard so far that he is going to listen sooner or later ...because he is the only one who's not asking for something from Vincent ;) ... and Yes ;) ...i totally agree with you , i didn't see Vincent in love with Catherine so far .....but i think it's only a matter of time ;) ...ps---thank you for your reply fellow beastie ;)

ReplyDeleteLet's hope for 22 ! The fans can quickly move to the next fandom but for the cast and many people ( some of them are really lovable ) is a job. I just need to figure out how 7-8 new episodes of Vincent / Catherine individual journeys and love triangles will keep the fans hooked because to be honest the two single characters, individually , are not strong or interesting enough . No offence but this is the strenght and the limit of VinCat and Batb. Ignoring the evidence is dumb. Keeping them apart didn't work in the first 8 episodes and won't work in the next 7 . Writers know the serie has been dumped: will this keep them more creative or motivated ? There are too many new characters to introduce and no time left to properly develop VinCat new relationship or whatever they have. That's why I do not expect anything epic or simply relevant in the next arc . That's why we need 22 episodes,
ReplyDeleteWhere does it say that Cat and Gabe will kiss? I missed that. One of the reasons I really miss SO1 is because the worst complaint was not enough romance. There was a bit at beginning and bit at end and everyone basically loved the show and presentation. That is not true this year but by time it was realized the fans were slowly disappearing it was too late; episodes already shot and network has to make decisions. Now we all have a chance to make things right. The network has given us the next 8 episodes so for the fans and with all due respect to everyone we need to stop snarking at each other and writers need to look at next 8 episodes and rethink arc or whatever to keep fans committed and happy. The last 6 IMO should just be like last year and them together working out challenges. Let's All take this time to save our show and work together not at cross purposes. And NOT just the fans. The season is in trouble so the writers and show runner need to do their part too to make it right. The network IMO is leaving it up to us to show them we want show to continue. We can do it IF we accept everyone's view and move on to the FIGHT!
ReplyDeleteI totally hear what u r saying. I am not a fan of SO2 do far and I feel that any comment is important. In my other life where I am not a crazed obsessed fan if a TV show (eye roll by my teenagers) I'm in a job where every comment counts cause that is how things get better or work. The writers know the season hadn't worked like they thought and I do see they are trying to reassure us to persevere. This season is hard for many of us but I do see the vision and if we had time I think it would be worth it too see it thro to end. But we don't as we are on fear of being cancelled if things don't chsnge.i respect what u feel as I have felt much the same but I am going to believe in writers from last year and the show and the beasties! I feel if we can get through this year and get another chance things will be better!
ReplyDeleteThe other thing I think is that whatever happens with this show this year or next year or whenever there is life after Beauty and the Beast and people follow writers. They know that so I don't believe they will just continue ue on with this vision and say oh well we are getting cancelled so who cares what some fans think as VinCat will be together on the end. There are some writers who really do appreciate the fans and I know that the writers from last year do love the beasties and how we fought for SO2. The new writers are just getting to know us and I believe will be just as much on awe of the fans for this show as they were last year.

ReplyDeleteI trusted S1 writers but most of them were kicked out from Batb . They choose a bunch of new male writers who didn't watch one single episode of season 1 Everything and everybody connected to last season was wiped clean like a malicious virus . That's why the fans are so disappointed and ratings are dropping to cult-level numbers . I understand they needed a fresh change and some action because a cheesy fairytale-style love story cannot keep the audiences hooked for too long. But they have been too aggressive , gross and confused and the new season turned out to be a damp squib. After 2 months the "human" storylines and the characters have not significantly evolved . The first 8 episodes of season 1 were gripping . The first 8 episodes of season 2 have been emotion-less and frustrating unless is romantic and entertaining trying to kill eachother . I was looking for "us against the world" , I've got a parody of "I Love You to Death" except THAT movie was hilarous.

ReplyDeleteI take things actors say with a grain of salt because well, they are under contract and no better than not tow the company line. It is true that Mr. Pedowitz visited the other two shows that film there but they are also not doing as well as the CW would like to put that visit in a little better perspective. I'm not trying to ring panic alarms but just be prepared for bad news. I didn't see him personally but there were reports from sources that I respect.
ReplyDeleteI would think this year has become way more expensive than last year, which is probably one of the problems the network is having.. This year they are shooting in both New York and Toronto, which must add huge cost to the show. They are also having some better known names this year in recurring roles, than they did last year. This year with the whole new trend to try and bring in the male audience, I think the special effects have multiplied. So I can see where the show has become more expensive, so coupled with low ratings, is not helping our situation.

ReplyDeleteThe BATB writers and the directors have destroyed the show so badly that the feelings we got from S1 is no good anymore. Seems as though it was all lies and never real. All the things Vincent said to Catherine. Forget it, he never meant it. Basically it's like a horrible nightmare. It would've been better if I'd never watched the show at all. I've seen shows go bad but to have a 2nd season destroy the 1st season, that has to take a real talent & art for destruction.. I'm typically a positive person but I'm speaking what's real right now. I would say the main problem is Tori but it's not. If Vincent handled Tori like a man should who already has "An Epic Love" in his life then Tori would just be someone in the way.. He welcomes her with open arms, and lips. So beware of what's next for VinTori.. As far as Catherine & Gabe that's a No-Go because Cat will leave a little room for the cooking instructor. The show has no sense of structure or continuity. I absolutely no longer see where they're going with this except.

Because she knows this all sucks and it's hard to give 100 when the writing is so Pathetic. Poor Jay, well heck he just goes with the flow but I think he's kinda sad right now because he really hoped S2 would be successful.. He had no idea the show would take a nose dive like it has... I feel you bro. & Jay gave 120% in S2, His acting is amazing.
I'm sorry but I don't see how Vincent having an affair with another woman (Tori) is gonna help their relationship.. I can appreciate some mystery Mythology that's not yet revealed that will pull them together. But loyalty and fidelity is just that, there's no in between. Epic or no Epic, they're not giving Vincent character any respect for Catherine. That Vin/Tori kiss at Cat's father's house was so uncalled for. It was disrespectful.

Vincent was held in captivity for 3 months, his memory was erased. His memory is not totally clear or totally in focus, so he

are going to have an affair. They have a connection because they are both beasts, Vincent is more of a mentor to Tori, than
a love interest. Without Tori's entrance into the dynamic of Vincent's and Catherine's relaitonship, Vincent would not begin to
find out who he really is and what Muirfield actually did to him while he was in captivity, nor would he find out just how deep his connection to Catherine really is and why they are meant to be. Catherine loves Vincent deeply and never gives up on him, she shot him to save his humanity, he will eventually return to the Vincent he was in the first season. Gabe is bonding
with Catherine and just being the good friend that she needs right now until Vincent starts to come around. Gabe has feelings for Catherine, but to her, he is just a good friend and nothing more. If someone held you in captivity for 3 months
and erased your memory, you wouldn't be the person you were before, it would take time for you to get back to your old self.
I keep reading that Tori will be around till at least episode 12. I hope it is only for a few more episodes as so many people just want the character gone and I think now would be a good time to end her story arc. I know her role in the story but right now with all that is potentially happening with show, just time to see something positive in the show, IMO and I respect everyone who does not agree with me.

How will we know that they woke up to the reality of the fans leaving the show because they aren't liking what's on the screen right now?
I don't see any of the crew really addressing beasties' concerns on Twitter. They only respond to the tweets that praise S2 which we know don't reflect the majority of the fandom.
Will we be fighting to let them continue with a storyline that got 80% of the fandom running away? Because that won't help maintaining the fans. If they continue in this same road, how many fans will the show still have by the end of the season?
