Atlantis - Episode 1.12 - Touched by the Gods (Pt 1) - Preview and Dialogue Teasers
Dec 19, 2013
Atlantis Reviews SSAs you might have guessed, Jason is still wrestling over his sworn oath and cannot decide whether he will be able to kill the Queen in cold blood or not, none the less he and his friends set out to infiltrate the palace in order to put their plan in action. It isn't long before Hercules courage deserts him however, and Jason is left realising that he will need the help of an insider in order to escape the palace undetected.
A much better episode this week, the script is tighter and the on the whole the performances are more nuanced than last weeks. I still have a few little niggles with it, a few too many cheap/tired visual gags and a far too easy resolution to one problem Jason faces being the main grumbles, but overall I found it enjoyable. The one thing that would help it be more popular in my opinion would be to move to the teatime slot, it really does feel like it's aimed at a younger audience than it's airing time at present.
It's great to see Lucy Cohu back as Circe, it's been six weeks since her last appearance so I fear some viewers will have either forgotten the pact she made with Jason or not know about it at all. I hope that these kinds of arcs are improved next season; much like Pasiphae poisoning Minos and Jason's futuristic past it does feel as though the audience need more consistancy and reminding throughout the episodes as to what is happening in the long run.
Touched by the Gods, Pt 1 will air on BBC 1 and BBC 1HD at 7.55pm on Saturday 21st. Below are some teasers to see you through until then.
“Are you calling me simple?”
“One of my archers wounded him, he cannot have gone far”
“Be careful Ariadne, it seems there is a traitor among us”
“I was going to suggest killing her while she slept”
“Sometimes I struggle to believe I had such high hopes for you”
“I’ll have you know I once tossed a rabid bull off the top of a cliff”
“Bring me evidence of my sister’s death by mid-day three days hence”
“It’s better than sitting round here waiting for Circe to slaughter us all in our beds”
“I've imagined plunging a dagger deep into her heart”
“The Queen has always coverted the throne, it is she who conspires against the King”
“Maybe they have discovered the Queen is dead”
“My time is drawing near, there will be dark days ahead”

Telling you Jason, Just kill her! Don't even utter the words I'm nor a murder, I know you are not. I've seen you kill, yes it was for survival, as is killing the Queen. As killing her is the survival of countless others who would die in the future if left alive!
