Alex Kingston is set to reprise her role as Dinah Lance on The CW’s Arrow, TVLine has learned.
Kingston first appeared on the superhero drama during late Season 1, when Dinah returned to Starling City to make amends with her daughter Laurel and husband Quentin as well as posit the theory that their other daughter, Sara, was in fact alive. At the time, that was just shoddily sourced crazy talk, but now… well, we’ll see if Quentin has the resolve to keep Sara’s super secret when Dinah resurfaces in Episode 14.

Yes! So excited to hear that River Song is back!
ReplyDeleteMeh. Her first appearance was awful. I don't know if it was her acting, the writing, the stupid storyline, or all three. I hope this appearance goes better.
ReplyDeleteOn the plus side, we should be getting more Quentin and Sara.
On the downside, we'll get more of Laurel since the writers are still trying to make her a thing.
Awesome! Love Alex Kingston and I can't wait to see more of her. I wonder if it'll just be for the one episode or if she'll stick around for a couple like last season.

ReplyDeleteTotal agree, her accent was horrendous and that 'crying' scene was the worst bit of acting I've seen in a llloooonnngggg time on any show of this level. Shame, but she is a good actor and was great in ER, Dr Who etc.. I also think she has zero chemistry with Paul Blackthorne (another brilliant actor).

ReplyDeleteThey are shooting episode 2.13 and she's already on set (news spread across twitter before TVLine reported them.)
ReplyDeleteI think TVLine are wrong here and we'll see her in episode 2.13 and not 2.14, unless they shoot scenes from both episodes at once now.
I hope her returning would wrap up the Laurel's pills storyline.
I think she's a terrific actress but something about this particular role didn't seem to fit her quite right. I kept thinking I've heard her do a better American accent.
ReplyDeleteHer character didn't quite gel with me in her first run- I think it was the accent and the terrible hair, that made her look bad. But since Sara is back, we HAVE to have Dinah return and at least find out that she was right, all these years. Maybe even finally have a full family reunion?
