Sawyer and Juliet and Jack and Kate! I miss these, jeez. Sawyer and Juliet really were something for me back in the day. The third vote I gave it to Penny and Desmond.

ReplyDeleteFunny how many random little relationships their were. I remember rewatching lost for the first time after it finishing and be so surprised at the Shannon/sayid relationship.

ReplyDelete1. Sawyer/Juliet - unbeatable to me, I'm glad they're currently winning the poll. The level of trust and respect they developed was very believable as a foundation for a long-term, healthy relationship - with Juliet, Sawyer was much more mature and he never treated another woman that way. Maybe it wasn't "hot" like Kate and Sawyer (except for that kiss in the series finale, mmmm) but it was way more believable as true, powerful love that could survive anything. They had each other's backs (thanks Sawyer) no matter what. They were a team through and through. From the fun banter and bonding in the early episodes of Season 5, to their cute domestic life in Dharmaville, to the heartbreaking and amazingly acted scene where Juliet falls to her death and Sawyer breaks, to the beautiful, poetic, "HELL YEAH!" reunion scene by that vending machine (my favorite moment of the finale by far) - also amazingly acted, of course. In Juliet's own words... "It worked."
ReplyDelete2. Desmond/Penny - what a fairytale story these two had. Another powerful love that overcame everything. He never stopped longing for her and she never stopped looking for him. That scene in "The Constant" where he finally manages to call her, and you feel the connection between the two despite the thousands of miles that separate them, was nothing short of incredible. And when they reunited at last in the Season 4 finale, well, that was one of the few moments of pure and unadulterated happiness I've had while watching a TV show. Well-earned.
3. Sun/Jin - haven't got that much to say here, but his love for her made him change and be a better man, and the wonderful acting by Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim (Sun screaming and falling apart when she thought Jin had died on the freighter, OMG) truly sold this couple and their devotion to each other.

ReplyDeleteDesmond and Penny were the greatest, their love story actually became the heart of the show for me. I also liked Jin and Sun and how it developed, like Jin came across as so horrible and controlling in S1 but when we learned about their history and everything I fell in love with the couple. Finally I thought Sawyer/Juliet was an surprising pairing that ended up really working for me.

ReplyDeleteA lot of great relationships--it was hard to limit them, but Charlie and Claire was probably the most touching to me.
ReplyDeleteI chose Sawyer and Juliet for all the reasons you mentioned, but "The Constant" was probably my favorite lost episode.
ReplyDeleteI only remember partially of Lost let alone the relationships!. Sawyer is the most recognisable character, but I had to google Juliet and then I was unlost. I went with those two because they were meant to be I think.
ReplyDeleteHonestly as I'm voting its all coming back to me. The sweet couple Charlie and Claire. Jack and Kate was a good couple but I don't know how far it went, straight to the end?.
There's so many characters' storylines and relationships on Lost but the ones I picked are the one that stood out more.
I'm surprised (not badly) that Lost still have the spark among many fans.

ReplyDeleteThis was one show I couldn't care about the couples most of the time, specially after season 3. The only ones who felt true were Sun/Jin and Desmond and Penny.
