Well, that would explain why he was brought back to life a few times and add to sth Naomi said - that he must have been someting wrong/different with him from the beginning: because he needed to be that way.
But I don't think so - it would be probably something more general like "an angel who's chosen humanity over heaven" or sth like that
People are going to say this makes Dean look stupid, but even some of the smartest people don't want to nose through endless volumes.
It's nice to see Kevin back to doing what he was brought onto the show to do, instead of being Bobby, and it's nice to see a reminder that Sam and Kevin are very similar.
Well, the one thing I'm wondering is why Metatron chose Cas for the spell, and more importantly, why he didn't just kill him outright.
Personally, I've got a theory that Cas is the one who returns the angels to their mission of taking care God's favorites (the humans), as opposed to the current mindset where most of the angels seem so angry that the humans get all the love. Kinda like Big Brother (angels) finally looking out for Little Brother (humans), versus what's going on now: the angels pushing Little Brother down the stairs because he's suddenly taking more of Dad's attention.
I'd love that if they manage to connect events from different seasons to actually fit that theory - that things Cas went through were parts of a bigger plan, maybe the one you've mentioned. I doubt it and I'm afraid it would be more along the lines "he needs to do/sacrifice sth or be sacrificed" but it'd be great if that wasn't the case.
IMO, i'd be also interesting if Metatron nad needed Cas' grace and not just any angel for the spell, maybe for the same reasons.
I know, but this type of scene always leads to, "Why do they want people to think Dean is stupid?" "Why do they hate Dean?" "Remember when Dean was smart?"
I don't think the scene comes across as him being stupid, but I am having some sort of psychic flash that we'll be hearing this complaint.
Anyone who would ever think Dean is stupid obviously hasn't been paying attention to the show. I think some people just like to complain for the sake of complaining, to be honest.
Dean isn't stupid, he just isn't as into research as Sam and Kevin are. Dean's more of a man of action, he'd rather be hunting than looking up the lore. He's obviously more than capable of doing it though since we've seen him digging up lore in the past. Sam even told him that he thinks Dean is the best hunter when it comes to lore that he's ever seen, that he's a genius. But with Kevin and Sam around, Dean doesn't actually have to do it as much anymore.
The Dean/Cas storyline looks like it will be the main plot so that's a lot of fast-forwarding lol. I always watch the whole episode but I'm a bit more interested in the Sam/Crowley scenes. I love those two together. And I have a feeling we might even get to see some Zeke/Crowley interaction in this one for some reason. Or at least that's what I'm hoping. I can see Crowley keeping that to himself to use as leverage against Dean.
YES! are we sick of the lying yet? well I guess not that's why I could not enjoy last weeks Ep and will be this one too but I will try to like it but I am just tired of it already.
Okay, forgive me, but I've recently done a marathon of the Castiel/Angel episodes. It seems to me all the angel "deaths" that Castiel has been a part of (or directly responsible for) are of angels who clearly put themselves above humans, consider humans to be nothing more than annoying little gnats they wish desperately they could just ignore, or are only into the angels and be damned with any human.
I mean, Rachel, Uriel, Zachariah, etc all complained about the "entitled" humans. Lucifer *said* his crime was he loved God, but in truth he only loved himself and was jealous Dad said to be a protective Big Brother. Michael and Raphael both wanted to exterminate the human race with the Apocalypse, and Balthazar wasn't honoring humans. He was entering depravity with them.
Seems to me that Castiel is the only angel we've ever really seen following God's edict: love Man before me. Although now it seems we also have Ezekiel (judging from the premiere episode). So maybe Castiel's role (that he obviously doesn't know about) has always been to ....purify.... Heaven and lead the true believers back to what they're supposed to be doing. Though if this *is* God's plan, his plan has been entirely unfair to Castiel.
I get the impression that if Castiel were forced to choose between God and humans, he'd choose God's love for humans. IE, he'd honor his love for God by loving and protecting what God loves - which is IIRC, the mission God gave the Angels, which Lucifer threw a fit about and was subsequently banished for.
It's actually just plain God's mission. IIRC, God made humans, and told the angels to love them more than God. That the humans are the shining creation. Lucifer refused, and that's why he was cast down. They did mention this on Supernatural.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Yay, Kevin! And LOL, Dean. That sounds like it would not be fun.
ReplyDeleteNow THIS episode, I will like. I sense it.
ReplyDeleteI love this show SO MUCH!!! It will be a great episode
ReplyDeleteHahaha Dean is like wtf...Ok time for a Castiel clip now.
ReplyDeleteThis clip may explain why the Winchesters and Kevin "need" Crowley to "help" - maybe he knows (or pretends to) how to translate this language.
ReplyDeleteWow!This sounds so interesting!Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteNice to see Kevin all cleaned up again. Osric's looking good!
ReplyDeleteHaha Kevin. Him and Sam are all excited about the books and Dean gives zero craps. Poor guy has 2 geeky little brothers now.
ReplyDeleteHomework Dean!. Who's gonna find the answers first Sam or Dean? :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Kevin back and look forward to the eppy.
This may be too early to say but what if Zeke is going to be the tool in regards to the tablets to send the angels back.
ReplyDeleteDean could wait until he and Sam are alone, then ask Ezekiel to decipher the doodles. Problem solved.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if eventually they're going to find out Cas' name is on the tablet.
ReplyDeleteWell, that would explain why he was brought back to life a few times and add to sth Naomi said - that he must have been someting wrong/different with him from the beginning: because he needed to be that way.

You'll jinx it.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I accidentally voted for myself. Wasn't an ego trip, I promise.

I doubt Dean will look stupid for long, considering he's obviously gonna bail pretty fast to get on board the Cas A plot.
ReplyDeleteAngels can't read the tablet, otherwise Castiel would have read it last season.

not really basically Cas will call and Dean will make an excuse to leave Sam behind and bail, getting away with not having to do research.
ReplyDeleteWe all know Dean doesn't like research and will avoid it if he can, lucky he's got Sam who will do all the work anyway.
my guess would be Zeke
ReplyDeleteI will be fast forwarding the Dean/Cas side of the episode though I am interested to hear what lies Dean tells Cas in relation to Sam/Zeke.
ReplyDeleteI know, but this type of scene always leads to, "Why do they want people to think Dean is stupid?" "Why do they hate Dean?" "Remember when Dean was smart?"
ReplyDeleteI don't think the scene comes across as him being stupid, but I am having some sort of psychic flash that we'll be hearing this complaint.
Preemptively whining. Sorry.
What was the mission part? Was it something from season 5 or 6? I mostly remember the whole line that God in their world isn't interested.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention how happy I was not to hear any 'comedy' music over this scene.
ReplyDeleteI think the mission Naomi talked about in Sacrifice - to protect what God created
ReplyDeleteYup, I meant Kevin's cuneiforms.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who would ever think Dean is stupid obviously hasn't been paying
ReplyDeleteattention to the show. I think some people just like to complain for the

Both the boys are smart in different ways. Dean isn't a dummy then why would he be a hunter! :)
ReplyDeleteCould you give me a little bit more info?. I assume you are on the same page I am.

ReplyDeleteOf course you're right but the problem is, untill they say so in the show, these are only our speculations.
ReplyDeleteOh totally, which is why I'm crossing my fingers Cas is on the tablet. At least then, it'd be possibility. It's interesting to speculate though.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH!!! Now that I'm all caught up, I can't wait for the episode!!
