  1. I don't get why they re-promoted Misha to a regular and don't have him in every episode. I love Cas and would certainly be more motivated to watch Charlie or Garth centric episodes if the character was there.
Cas isn't just fitting for myth arc episodes but also proved that he's perfect for MotW episodes.

I used to question why they don't have the spin-off simply be about Cas and people told me they'd take an essential part out of SPNs chemistry, I agreed but he doesen't seem to be that essential to the writers
I need my weekly dose of Cas :(

sry for the rant, gotta come over like some desperate Cas fanboy. But all I want is some equally hillarious and awesome Dean/Sam/Cas scenes

all the rant asside I can't wait for tonight. Originals with Elijah fighting in a fight club esque scene and Tyler returning and Supernatural with more Cas and Crowley awesomeness

  2. Aw, this looks good. Poor Cas! I can't wait.

  3. They can only have Misha in a certain amount of episodes due to money restraints, so they're keeping him light in the first half to heavily use him in the second, which is more important.

  4. Series regular pretty much means just being in more than half of the episodes. It's also a contractual thing so the writers basically have his ok to write him in any episode.

Season 4 he was in 12 episodes (recurring)
Season 5 he was in 14 episodes.(series regular)
Season 6 he was in 14 episodes (series regular)
Season 7 he was in 5 episodes (special guest star)
Season 8 he was in 9 episodes (special guest star)

  5. This promo makes the episode look very focused on character development. I hope it pans out that way.

  6. Being a regular at least on this show does not mean you are in every episode. Let's please keep it that way. I don't know if I can take Cas hanging around all the time.

  7. Wow, he wasn't in 16 whole seconds out of 2700.

  8. That's actually a good promo! No flirty eyes with dogs, and an actual attempt at character insight.

  9. What is Supernatural about this promo? Aside from a clip of the angels falling from the premiere, there are no monsters, ghosts, angels or demons to be found. Looks like Dean and Cas talking. If I didn't already know about the plot I might not even tune in, but since I do know about this Ephraim character and the Sam and Crowley scenes I am. CHCH did a lousy job with this one.

  10. And I don't know wether I can take Super!Sam (at least 'I don't feel sorry anymore'-Sam) all the time but I have to

  11. I think it's nice to get to see a little of characterization - I'm so tired of stabbings and beatings on the show, and viewers already knew they were getting some of those tonight anyway.

  12. I do agree with you there that side of the episode will be important while the Dean/Cas stuff looks to be filler/fluff/fan pandering.

  13. Sam is in every episode that comes with being a lead character on the show, if you dont like him then I dont know why the hell your watching this show. At least with Cas if you dont like him you can get away from him for about half the season.

    ReplyDelete
  14. So if I don't like one of two leads I've got to stop watching a show ? Wow, interesting logic.

I do enjoy Jareds acting but Sam at one point became completely unrelatably perfect and unlikable to me, yet I stuck with the show for Dean, Crowley and Cas and I never complained that he's in the show I just raised a point to counter Jewels answer

  15. I don't mind characterization either but to someone who never watched the show before they might think it's a soap opera lol.

  16. Sam is not written has perfect Mac far from it . Not last year , not when he was Soulless and most certainly not in season 4. I dont care one way or another whether someone likes Sam but not on the pretence he is written as perfect .

Because how he is written is as far away from perfect as you will get in canon . Your free to dislike him but personally for me I think he is the best out of all of them with the biggest heart .

  17. Yeah, meh promo for CHCH.

  18. Yep, the 'Make Destiel Canon Now' fans are cooing and drooling all over the TV Guide Article. :P

  19. Don't get me started about that article. They don't even mention the Sam and Crowley scenes, which are the most important thing about this episode as it relates to the mytharc. And wow, some of the comments there make me weep for humanity.

    ReplyDelete
  20. They wouldn't be completely off if they did...

  21. The woman who wrote the article is a big Sam fan, so I don't think it was anything against that story. It's just that Dean and Cas rarely have that much interaction (5 episodes in and they had two or three short scenes, most of those with Sam) and this episode will be it again for a while.

  22. OMG, these comments are nothing more than passive aggressive attacks on each other. Really, when will the silliness end????

It looks like the focus of this episode (at least the Dean and Cas parts) will be on characterization, which is good, while Sam and Kevin move the plot along. Seems like a good balance to me.

  23. As much as I enjoy the occasional silly episode of Supernatural, I'd quite like to get back on track please.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It looks like the angel part with Cas will be moved along too, although I just wish they'd move beyond the stabbing scene over and over.

  25. The promo seemed serious to me.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I disagree. I don't find Cas working in a store being all zany trying to be human and spilling slushies, to be comedic at all.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That part was silly but the rest was serious - talking with Dean about what's happened to him, being interrogated by the angel guy, trying to decide what he should do. I actually thought if you take the first part out it was one of the more serious promos this season. They even use dramatic music.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Maybe. I'm quite happy to be proven wrong, I think at this point I'm afraid I just have a certain attitude towards Cas heavy episodes. I just wish if he has to still be around, that they'd use him a lot better than how they are.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I feel that way about everyone, although I think the writing for Cas is in more of a spotlight because he's around less. I'm tired of some of the jokes and of him being attacked in every episode. I'm tired of his story being rushed and crammed into a short amount of time.

I have a little more hope after seeing this promo because it suggests everything might not be a laugh, and he and Dean might actually have real conversations, but I understand if you're wary. I just kind of wish they'd run this one as the main promo because the other one was very wacky, and we've had three weeks of wacky promos. I'm not sure how that will affect ratings.

  30. I was really excited for the human Castiel storyline before this season started because more than anything I want him to get some real character development. But if they're going to insist on keeping him an awkward comic relief character, then I don't see what the point of making him human is. Hopefully I'm wrong about this, but watching him trying to figure out a slurpee machine isn't what I call character development.
