Classic Dean humor is Dean making hilariously snarky comments and pop culture references. This is making the Dean the butt of all the jokes and humiliating the character. Something they never do to Sam. The contempt these writers have for Dean just becomes more and more apparent every day.
Calm down bud, I'm the first one to scream betrayal when the writers glorify Sam again and shove Dean down as the 'guilty one' (what they're doing now again with Zeke) but this is blatant shaggy dog-ish comedy I can live with. Jensen is a fantastic comedic actor and I'm greatful for letting him use his talent once this season...wish Misha was in the episode tough. Now DogDean + Cas would be hillarious
What gets me is that there was actually a decision-making process behind this episode. The idea had to be pitched. It had to be written. It had to get approval from the show runner and producers and the network. And yet, it is still about to air. I just don't understand how that could happen.
This episode just looks so bad it's not even funny. Now, if they had EDLUND writing it, it would probably have been awesome. But Edlund's gone. Apparently, the rest of the writers just can't write comedic episodes.
Wait... They really are going to make Dean flirt with a dog? I'm so pissed off right now. I'm all for funny episodes, Jensen is awesome in them, but Jesus have some limits, writers!
Dean is guilty with Zeke is he not or are we putting something different on Dean's actions? . As for Dean being shoved down as the guilty on as a Sam fan I find that priceless and frankly there as been no glorification in any sl Sam has had let alone this Ezekiel sl .
Even with what people are saying about this episode, I will still probably laugh in this episode. Jensen will do it great. Yeah, I get a little hot-headed too when the writers don't see Dean's true potential, but I still watch every episode because I have loved Supernatural since the beginning. There may be times where I may cringe at what happens (I probably will at the poodle scene), I will still end up loving the episode when it's done. I don't know why, I just can't seem to hate any of the episodes. Sometimes I put it into the position of if it was really happening in real life, and if you look at dogs and how they act, I can see all this happening to a human if they are slowly turning into a dog. That's just me, but I'm afraid that people are judging the episode before it has even aired. :/
I hope Dean isn't really checking out that poodle. I truly hope they edited the promo to make it look that way. If not, I don't what to say. I guess we'll see what's what when the episode airs tonight.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
They always ruin a good run of episodes with something that is just silly. At least I hope there's no beastiality in this one.
ReplyDeleteThis episode looks as daft as they come .
ReplyDeleteseems like a fun episode, missed the classic Dean humour :D
