I really liked Sleepy Hollow's take on the traditional haunted house tale. For me, the twist that Ichabod had a son was the best part but I also think the lighting and directing deserve big kudos. They managed to keep the scenes claustrophobic and creepy yet still light them well enough for us to see the characters' reactions. That's a rare combination. Jenny and Irving snark was a bonus as well. Not sure whether I'm going to vote for the flashback birth, Abbie telling Ichabod about it, or Ichabod decimating Tree Evil yet. All were powerful scenes.
This was a tough one for me, between Ichabod finding out he had a son, and him going after the tree demon. In the end, I chose the latter, because while we've had plenty of emotionally poignant scenes on this show in the past, raging Action!Crane! was something entirely new. And I liked it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI ended up voting that way too for much of the same reasons. I love when formerly calm characters go postal on evil.
