Best TV Medical Shows
Has to be ER for me even if it did lose it in later seasons the earlier ones were excellent. Never really thought of Northern Exposure as a medical drama but love that show so it gets my vote. House up until S5 was great as well.
ReplyDeletethe only shows i watch that are remotely medical are royal pains and hart of dixie, though nowadays the latter show is more of a comedy/relationship/drama show instead...
ReplyDeleteI've only seen Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
ReplyDeleteDefinetly, E.R.! For the first 6 or 7 seasons, it was appointement tv for me:)
ReplyDeleteI love medical shows and have watched most of the top 10. ER is by far my favourite as each character was unique and had me interested to watch their development as much as the medical stories each week. I still remember scenes from the early seasons all these years later. I don't know if I was just younger and didn't notice as much, but the story lines never seemed as over the top with drama as some of the more recent series, it seemed more organic. I would certainly go back and watch all seasons again.
ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H for sure! Then ER and House.
ReplyDeleteI've voted for House, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice (PP will always be very underrated IMO). Grey's is my favorite though.
ReplyDeleteFor me its Greys anatomy but also body of proof that not in the list
ReplyDeleteGeneral Hospital shouldn't even be listed its a soap opera....
ReplyDeleteI voted for ER,Chicago Hope, St. Elsewhere and Grey's. Oh, and Northern Exposure but i don't consider NE to be a medical show either...
I added Body of Proof to the list.
ReplyDeleteoh I loved dr. quinn during the first seasons and chicago hope too (mandy patinkin, christine lahti, adam arkin, mark harmon) but also ER of course (the last seasons were ....), house (except for the last season), grey's anatomy (only the first 4 seasons were good IMO). i loved private practice and also enjoyed body of proof. judging amy (kind of medical though) was always horrible - bad acting of the female lead.
ReplyDeleteER is my favorite too.Your right about it not being as over the top,and/or as soapy as others.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to check out ER sometime.Fabulous cast, some of the best medical storylines to date.
ReplyDeleteHa, I will. After I'm done with Lost, Fringe, Buffy, Angel & Firefly. xD
ReplyDeleteER for me, it's the only one I could stand watching. I've tried other medical shows but usually gave up on them after a few episodes. None have captured me the way ER did.
ReplyDeleteWhere is it? I would add it a vote too if I found it.
ReplyDeleteThey keep piling up, don't they? ahah it's crazy.
ReplyDeleteHaha, being a procrastinator doesn't help either. Buffy has been on my radar since Charmed ended and I still haven't started it. xD
ReplyDeleteIt's always like that with me, I keep putting off it and when I finally pick up the pilot, I'm usually gone for the next few weeks.
I have the same issue. No way I can start watching a new show while I work. It has to be on summer/ christmas, otherwise it takes away all my productivity and sleep nights!
ReplyDeleteGeez, where did it go?? This is the second time this has happened to me.I swear i saw it listed before i left. Don't know why this happens?
ReplyDeleteWell, now that i know your a procrastinator :),i should tell you,ER was on for 15 years..... so,depending on how old you are,you might want to get a move on! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea, I have never used this feature before :S
ReplyDeleteHa, thanks for the heads up. That's a lot to catch up on but don't worry, I'm only 19 y/o, so I'll have plenty of time.
ReplyDelete(George Clooney being in it just bumped it up a few places on my watchilst. lol)
Chicago Hope yall.
ReplyDeleteSaving Hope, love the way they deal with near death experiences.
ReplyDeleteER, House, Chicago Hope, Scrubs.
ReplyDeleteER was the very best. Hey, does anyone remember Rescue 911? It wasn't scripted, but was hosted by William Shatner and showed reenactments of actual emergencies and how the med teams responded. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI submitted the list and it was a fluid definition. As a big fan of Northern Exposure I would consider it medical as the main premise for the show was based on a doctor going to Alaska to pay his medical school debts. But maybe not everyone agrees :)
ReplyDeleteHi there Brouhaha! Yes,your right about Joel and why he was going to Alaska. But i just don't see it as a traditional medical show like Grey's Anatomy,ER,St.Elsewhere etc.etc.... I dearly miss Northern Exposure... ;)
ReplyDeleteLoved Northern Exposure. It was one of my choices.
ReplyDeletehart of dixie. LOL
ReplyDeleteGeorge is worth a few bumps,ha! ;)
ReplyDeleteHouse all the way :) one of my favourite shows ever!
ReplyDeleteFor me it has to be House MD, Nip/Tuck, Grey's Anatomy and ER.
ReplyDeleteER was excellent medical show. Especially first eight, nine seasons were very entertaining. I adore cast, plot, medical cases. This was very good drama and this is why I have re watched ER few times. Good memories, even some episodes were very sad, like episode in which Mark died, or Lucy was killed, but maybe this is the reason, why ER was so good, medical drama. It was so real.... I also like MASH, Scrubs and GA but for me ER is the best. ( MASH was great, but I didn't watch all seasons. Scrubs was very funny, but sometimes stupid... and GA sometimes is to soapy and writing annoy me..)
ReplyDeleteNurse Jackie and Scrubs for me!
ReplyDeleteHouse is the best.
ReplyDeletei think ER took too long to end and lost the 2ª position for me
ReplyDeleteMASH first and house and greys anatomy tied in 2ª place
HOUSE IS No1
