This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our

“The Biggest Loser” (NBC)

-Tired:
“New Girl” (Fox)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“The Mindy Project” (Fox), “In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Countdown to the CMA Awards” (ABC)
———-
-Ratings Breakdown:
It was a clean overnight household sweep for CBS with its combination of “NCIS” (#1 for the evening: 12.2 rating/19 share), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (9.5/15) and “Person of Interest” (7.9/14), which is an improvement over failed year-ago occupant “Vegas” (but not as strong as when it aired in the Thursday 9 p.m. hour out of “Two and a Half Men”). And two more hours of “The Voice,” which scored a 6.9/12 in the overnights from 9-11 p.m. (out of a second-place 4.6/ 7 for “The Biggest Loser” at 8 p.m.), should be enough to lead NBC to demo victory. Both networks have plenty to crow about on Tuesday.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” opened the night for ABC with a series-low (and third-place) 4.5/ 7 at 8 p.m., which was 12 percent below its last original telecast (5.1/ 8 on Oct. 22). But this should still resonate in the young adult demos. “S.H.I.E.L.D.” led into typical overnight performances for full season-renewed sitcoms “The Goldbergs” (#3: 3.6/ 6) and “Trophy Wife” (#3: 2.9/ 5) from 9-10 p.m., which would both stand a better chance of a larger audience if the network moved either to Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. out of “Modern Family” (and in place of abysmal “Super Fun Night”).
At 10 p.m., annual ABC special, “In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Countdown to the CMA Awards” was a bust at a distant third-place 2.5/ 4.
Elsewhere, Fox had nothing unusual to report with its sitcom line-up of “Dads” (#4: 2.5/ 4), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 2.5/ 4), “New Girl” (#4: 2.7/ 4) and “The Mindy Project” (#4: 2.0/ 3), which is a true negative for sophomore Mindy Kaling and company. And recent entry “The Originals” on The CW, which is expected to be renewed for the full season any day now, averaged a 1.5/ 2 (#5) in the overnights into a 1.5/ 2 (#5) for veteran “Supernatural” at 9 p.m.
