A weekly feature highlighting the best quotes on TV this past week.
Agents of SHIELD: 'The Hub'; 12th November; Elizabeth Henstridge/Iain De Caestecker
A Dahne: Simmons: "I can't be a part of your bad girl shenanigans."
Fitz: "Now you've destroyed the world's most dangerous sandwich."
American Horror Story: 'The Axeman Cometh'; 13th November; Lily Rabe/Jessica Lange/Emma Roberts
Catlin Rice Anderson: Misty: "He broke Stevie."
Sharon Seymour: Fiona: "I'd get out while you still can, Jughead."
(The first thing Madison says after being resurrected from the dead.) Madison: "I need a cigarette."
Arrow: 'Keep Your Enemies Closer'; 13th November; David Nykl/David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards/Stephen Amell
Bradley Adams: Kynazev: "If Oliver vouches for you.. then you're my second favourite American!" Kynazev was nothing if not fun. He was a really enjoyable character to have in this episode. And he was friendly too.
Diggle: "She was my wife." Felicity: "Explain that sentence." Oh Felicity...
CJ Allan: (Oliver, Felicity and Knyazev held at gunpoint. Oliver whispers in the guy's ear in Russian for 30 seconds. Bad guys disappear.) Felicity: "What did you say?" Oliver: "Please."
Jamie Coudeville: Oliver: "You're going straight to the hotel in a cab." Felicity: "No, you're leaving me with her?"
Oliver: "So we're not doing the 'what happens in Russia, stays in Russia'?" Felicity: "We're still in Russia."
Once Upon a Time In Wonderland: 'Heart of Stone'; 14th November; Emma Rigby
A Dahne: Red Queen: "When I first heard about Wonderland, I figured the Wonder was short for Wonderful, not wonder how we're going to make it."
Red Queen: "If you I wanted you to fall off the cliff, I'd push you."
Person of Interest: 'Endgame'; 12th November; Jim Caviezel/Robert John Burke/Sarah Shahi/Taraji P Henson
Bradley Adams: Reese: "Wait, that's my grenade launcher?" The realisation of this fact was fantastic. Reese couldn't believe it. This quote was also picked by DarkUFO
Carter: "It's a brave new world boys. Don't you read the papers? Anyone can listen in to your phone, even when it's turned off." This quote basically sums up the entire point of the show. Carter was so calm and composed when she said this; if not a little bit smug. This quote was also picked by Sharon Seymour
DarkUFO: Simmons: "The Man in the Suit dies tonight."
Sharon Seymour: Shaw: "Boys can't have all the toys."
Sleepy Hollow: 'The Midnight Ride'; 11th November; John Cho/Nicole Beharie
A Dahne: Brooks: "Rumours of my demise have been…pretty much true."
Abbie: "Good news and bad news. What do you want first?" Ichabod: "Is this a riddle?"
The Blacklist: 'General Ludd'; 11th November; James Spader
Bradley Adams: Reddington: "Then you'll just have to find another criminal to talk to Elizabeth Keen and make fun of Agent Ressler." James Spader bosses this show. You can never tell when he's serious because even when he is, he manages to make a joke somehow. This was one of those times. This quote was also picked by DarkUFO.
DarkUFO: Reddington: "You will always be her father, Sam. I can only hope that I can love her and protect her as you have."
The Originals: 'Bloodletting'; 12th November; Phoebe Tonkin
Jamie Coudeville: Hayley: "Let me go, you backstabbing, half breed, piece of sh*t."
Hayley: "You will not believe the crap day I'm having."
The Walking Dead: 'Internment'; 10th November; Scott Wilson/Norman Reedus/Chandler Riggs, Andrew Lincoln
DarkUFO: Hershel: "A sad soul can kill quicker than a germ."
Daryl: "You're a tough son of a bitch."
Sharon Seymour: Hershel: "I still think there's a plan. I still believe there's a reason."
Carl: "Dad, you can't keep me from it." Rick: "From what?" Carl: "From what always happens." Rick: "Yeah. Maybe. But I think it's my job to try."
The Vampire Diaries: 'Death and the Maiden'; 14th November; Paul Wesley/Rick Cosnett, Nina Dobrev
Jamie Coudeville: Silas: "Just a couple days ago I was psychic, I was immortal, I was in love. Now my neck hurts, my soul is crushed, I'm sitting in a bus stop in freaking Delaware." Stranger: "You're in Philly." Silas: "I'm in Philly? Ooh god, that's even worse."
Wes: "Patient is irritable. Not sure if this is a symptom or personality." (Katherine throws the recorder away) Katherine: "Personality."

3. Cop: "What are we talking? The Loch Ness Monster?"
SHIELD - Ward: "Are you familiar with the term slam and cram?" Fitz: "No and I don't think I want to be." Ward: "How attached are you to your pinkie?" Fitz: "Very, very attached and before you ask another terrifyingly vague question, let me be clear. Any plan that involves even one of those scenarios isn't going to work for me."

Most of the Arrow quotes listed here, and especially everything by Anatole.
I still need to catch up on Elementary. Usually some good stuff in there.
ReplyDeleteHaving watched five shows this week compared to my usual 10, I was a bit short on quotes this week. However, there were some good ones. I could have picked most of Arrow, most of POI and there were a lot in Tomorrow People. Good stuff this week. And, not that I have any interest in TVD but when I screencapped, I heard the bus stop quote and found it quite funny.
ReplyDeleteI would have to suggest "Having never milked a moose, I'd imagine one must catch it in the right mood." --Sherlock on Elementary.
ReplyDeleteI'm behind in about 7 shows myself this week. I expect I will add other quotes throughout this week as I get caught up. I've missed most of the comedies I usually watch.
ReplyDeleteScandal: "You're way better at picking out hookers than you are china patterns." - Cyrus (Jeff Perry)
ReplyDeleteYeah, and usually Jonny Lee Miller can make even a mediocre line great. There was a scene where he was looking at apartments for he and Watson and he said something like "I can't do this" but the delivery was A+++
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree. He is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI thought there was a certain lack of comedic shows' quotes this week...
ReplyDeleteAmerican Horror Story, Madison: [after having had her throat slit and corpse abused for the last few episodes] I need a cigarette.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I thought they went a bit too far with the humor on Sleepy Hollow this week (given the situation), but I loved this one:
ReplyDeleteAbbie: "Good news and bad news. What do you want first?" Ichabod: "Is this a riddle?"
I love that the writers even came up with that. It's such a normal question to ask. :p
The ''grenade launcher'' line from POI was pretty great too. And Rick's line from The Walking Dead (''I think it's my job to try'') is so telling. In this post apocalyptic world, of course he doesn't know what he's supposed to do.
The first Hayley one from The Originals just pissing me off. Where does Hayley get off calling Tyler a backstabbing piece of "crap".? Hayley caused the death of twelve hybrids and left Tyler holding the bag which resulted in his mother his death and then she went and slept with the murderer. I HATED that TO didn't even mention any of that, anyone who hadn't seen the TVD eps is getting the wrong impression of Hayley big time.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Horror Story: “When I plant a fat-ass cracker bitch, I expect her to stay planted!” LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, pretty much everything Angela Bassett says.
TVD's were great this week, I'd like this as a poll, like the best scene one.
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes this week!
ReplyDeleteTVD:
Tessa: "So you live in this giant mansion with two doppelgangers that are destined to end up together? I swear there's a sitcom in there somewhere."
And also the one's mentioned above. Im gonna miss Silas's humor.
OUAT:
Regina: "Now you can have legs whenever you want…or a fin. Whatever Eric's into these days."Grumpy:"I seem to recall some Ruby outfits that are seared into my brain."
Elementary:
Joan: "This is one of those "so many questions" moments"
Sherlock: ""Having never milked a moose, I'd imagine one must catch it in the right mood."
Also, Originals, SHIELD and Big Bang Theory had great one liners.
Oh.
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no. I'm not angry, darling. I'm genuinely intrigued. When I say
"Design me one last costume befitting the new Dark Fae leader", why do
you hear "Dress me like an asexual hobo"? (Vex, Lost Girl)
I think we should make some new rules before they get back. I hereby
declare we have spaghetti Tuesdays every Wednesday. First we have to
find some spaghetti. (Hershel, The Walking Dead)
I'm a witch. I'm not amish. (Davina, The Originals)
Men
like this fought in wars, cheek by jowl, belly-down, crawling through
the mud, the blood, and the fear. And for what? Eh? Boys with hair
straighteners. Girls in jeggings with their flabby arses hanging out! (Greg, Misfits)
Nobody is [normal], Jake. It's Portland.(Nick, Grimm)
Make her scream. (Dracula, Dracula)
